Reviews for Southern Magic
Hmm, that was a very interesting start. I haven't read any Avalon-esque fics before. I am excited to see where you will go with this.
Good start, very interested to see where you are going with it.
Very enticing. Great beginning. I hope that you plan to update regularly. I'm interested in the back story. Does Sev know he has a child? How did she end up being where she is with the boy? So many questions that I have no doubt you'll answer in upcoming chapter. I definitely kepts me wanting more!
wow! amazing fic, cant wait for more! :Dpyro
You got your Snerry in my Snermoine! I did not imagine that I would ever like any kind of Snerry scenario but the bits you had really worked for me. Thank you for this excellent story. I really look forward to reading anything else you might write about Snape.

Thanks for reviewing :) Snape continues to be my muse and he is very central to the story I'm writing at the moment. It's my take on the events after DH (minus that stupid epilogue lol) But it's not a HGSS story, I'm afraid.
And they lived happily ever after. That was a great story. I just want to know about two things.- First from where do you get this "southern magic" idea. All those rites seems familiar but I can't place them.- Second I'm not sure I understand who HE is ? Can you help me about that ?Once again huge thanks for sharing your talent with every reader here on TPP.

Glad you liked it,

-- I enjoyed writing it as well. The rites in Southern Magic were probably influenced primarily by Hindu rituals but of course there were other things thrown into it too. I wanted to have a formal 'feel' to the rites. Ahhh, 'he' well, 'he' sort of leaped into the story (quite uninvited, I must say). But my initial thinking on him was that he was the power behind everything and Hermione's role was to conduct that power so that it could be actualized. It was a sort of the deconstruction and personlization of the magic and the wand used in Northern Magic -- if you see what I mean. Then he came along and put his own twist to the story lol. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for reviewing :)
You know I really was wondering when they would stop turning around each other and get to the point. It really was time ...
I have nothing else to add but WOW.
Wow I'm very proud of Harry for obeying to everything he was commanded without protesting, event the last part. Maybe the awakening will not be so nice (if he ever remembered what happened).
I can't help but only imagine what harry's reaction will be when he'll understand what has to be done with Snape. I'm just gonna read the next chapter to discover it. I know I'm repeating myself but I can't find any other way to tell you how I like your work here. So I'll just say : THANK YOU
sorry I've been busy for a while but a welcome surprise to return with this amazing chapter. It seems there's little action to come.
Among so many other things, I really love the line, "Neat stitches."!!
Response from lapita (Author of Southern Magic)
Yay, you liked that too. I was chortling as I wrote it lol.
I really liked the changed Harry! And that scene with Minerva was very touching. Their fight with Voldemort was very dramatic, I loved reading it.

I've never read something even remotely near of this. It made for a fascinating and unusual final battle.

-- yes, I admit it was quite an unusual final battle lol.
I really enjoyed the interactions between Hermione and Severus preparing for the ritual. It seemed to me that Severus became aroused at one point and had to compose himself. Also he seemed to make it clear by little hints in his responses that he is very interested in Hermione. I am not sure she actually picked up on that. When her son was mentioned with how old he is, Severus certainly became nervous. Perhaps this is because he knows that he participated in a ritual in the South at that time and there is a possibility that Hermione's son is his. Just a guess. It sounds like the battle all took place within some magical other dimension or within the minds of those involved. At least the Light won and Hermione, Severus and Harry are still alive.

I found this to be a *very* tricky chapter to write and even when I was posting it, I was umming and aahhing about it (give me smoking hot rituals anytime lol). Glad you liked the interactions btw Hermione and Snape :)
YES!

OK, I might have missed something. Hermione said that seven years ago, she wanted nothing more than to be bound to him (or something to that effect). Was this Harry? Do we ever hear the story of Hermione's boy?Did I miss something, or has something not been revealed?
Response from lapita (Author of Southern Magic)
err, no, 'him' wasn't Harry in that situation -- it was the primordial tiger who Hermione longs to be with. Sorry for the confusion. *looks away and mutters to self, 'why, oh why, did I decide to set myself the challenge to not name 'him'?'*
Interesting story. Looking forward to the next chapter.

, glad you enjoyed it. *phew*. I wasn't sure what people would think of this chapter -- it was a little out there.
Well, I started reading this at Ashwinder, and was delighted to discover it so far advanced here at TPP!!What an imaginative AU you have created! I derive a lot of satisfaction from your usage of the elements, in particular, with regard to the four Houses of Hogwarts -- this is something that has always been evident to me as well, and it's a pleasure to see it explored. The smoky, sensual rites and encounters fireside have all been delicious teases that I hope we will see fully realized very soon -- your Severus is an opiate and I'm hooked! The concept of the primordial jungle is intriguing. I think you've shown remarkable (some might say maddening, but not me!) restraint in revealing HIM so slowly -- maintaining a taut uncertainty about the nature of HIS world and HIS intentions. Very interesting stuff.I find that in the aftermath of reading your chapters I feel a tad unmoored -- it's like an ethereal hangover. I do long for a bit more concrete clarification at some juncture, but I am trusting that you will reveal all when the moment is right. And now that Voldemort is dead....hey!Thank you for this fascinating read!

Hello,
Response from lapita (Author of Southern Magic)
, *waves* good to see you here. I suppose my aim was to create a wider context to the magical world we had encountered via JK -- it was such fun to write :) Glad you are enjoying it. Thanks for reading and reviewing -- much appreciated.
I have a feeling this chapter in particular is one I will have to read several times before I can fully appreciate it. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but I think I will be better able to get into it once all three of the kids stop trying to kill each other and go to sleep.
There are still a few unanswered questions I hope we will see the answers to in the forthcoming chapter(s), not least of which is the parentage of 'her boy' (not totally convinced she is his mother)
Response from lapita (Author of Southern Magic)
lol, aahh, perhaps you of all people will be able to imagine the situations I've been in while trying to write this story -- multi tasking to the extreme.
Interesting chapter, but I found it hard to follow. I suspect everthing will be clear in due course.
Response from lapita (Author of Southern Magic)
It was a tricky chapter to write -- I may after a while look it at again and see what I can do. Of course, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them :)
Oh wow, very good. Poor Voldie what a way to go he never knew what hit him.Looking forward to the next part.Truly
