Reviews for Denial
They are sooo stubborn!!! Although Severus shouldn't have waited so long in seeing Hermione. I do understand he wanted things settled for them. I hope the baby is ok. I can't remember what happens, so it's like reading the last 2 chapters for the first time. I'm so excited to see how things pan out.
Oh the hardheadedness all around makes me want to scream. I hope that Hermione is okay. I can only imagine poor Severus realizing that he really stepped in it with his decision to keep Hermione out of the loop and surprise her.
I do hope all is well with Hermione & her baby. Men some times you just want to kick their butt. Hope all works out for the both of them, and Severous needs to wright more informative letters. Great chapter.
I don't know what anyone disliked about this chapter. If there is anyone to be upset with, it is Cordelia and her petty, spoiled attitude. Fortunately, Lance is there to smooth things over. I love the fact that what got through to her was an honest conversation about happiness and love. No amount of anger, bribing, blackmailing or otherwise was going to sway her decision. Even so, I think had Severus tried the same tact with her, he would have fallen flat on his face. Lance has no real agenda with nothing to gain, nothing to lose, so it is forthright honesty. Without spoiling things for anyone who might read reviews, I will just say that I recall both good and bad things to come, and I am very anxious to get to both.
Communication is certainly not their forte. *sigh* I hope Padma helps them sort this out -- or gets them to sort it out. AND I hope they call Severus to meet them at hospital. He deserves to know -- it's his child, too!
Oh no! Another Cliff! Poor girl. I do hope she'll be allright though. Or that at Will bring Severus around in regards to starting a family.
They do seem to be over-thinking everything, and in their effort to look after each other they make things much more difficult. It is irritating - I do want to hit them both - but very realistic.
That explains why Hermione has been so weepy. Hooray for Lance for helping Cordelia be reasonable!
Yet another cliff-hanger ending. You're good at those. :)
Next thing you know, Hermione will be telling Severus that he's sweet. Teehee. I'm glad Neville has a chance to find happiness.
Your chapters are so well-developed and run the gamut of our emotions. From Severus and Hermione's crisis to the dissolution of Theo and Hermione's marriage to the countdown to Hermione's new deadline, this has been an exciting chapter to read.
You've done a fine job of portraying Hermione's principles in this chapter. I 5hink Severus will need that exotraserum sooner rather than later at this rate. What timing Theo has!
I'm new to this story and have been reading these 31 chapters in the cause of one week, give and take.
I am in awe of this fic. It has proven that Marriage Law fics have a good reason to exist, and that they can actually be so very, very good. I love how you make it all so plausible - the reactions, the way people hack the system, the agony it causes. And I really like how you've portraied Snape's and Hermione's relationship.
I love Lance. He's perfect. As are Moe and Cordelia - though not quite as lovable.
And your writing! The simplicity of it. I can understand that you've made quite a journey in regards to writing. It makes sense to me that you want to improve your early work. And I like your mantra - perhaps I'll adopt it one day?
I wish you all the best of luck with publishing and writing. Don't give up. As Hermione said: there is always hope!
Beautifully written! So very many conflicting emotions! It is going to be hard for the two of them. I hope Theo's ring burns like mad. I'm guessing that Severus will last longer than 12 minutes. *smirks*
Oh my! The UST! My little heart is just going pitter-pat.
Well, this is quite a conundrum you've written here. I must say, I really dislike Theo for burning her message without even reading it. He has to know he's causing her pain. That takes him from merely being selfish to being a total jerk.
Call me paranoid, but I hope he read that divorce decree very carefully.
The authors note was interesting. Keep slogging away and don't loose hope. Remember how many very famous authors were turned down time and time again (wonder if the ones who turned down JKR still have their jobs....)
And let me end with HI MR BELOVED HUBBY!
Theo and Cordelia seem very similar in terms of selfishness and shallowness. I wonder what her problem with Severus is. She leads a very separate life; why isn't he allowed to do the same? I really enjoyed the discussions between Hermione and Severus in this chapter.
I could kiss Lance, it was looking a bit dicey there for a moment, with Severus and Cordelia toe to toe wands drawn. Lance speaking to Cordelia so gently was just lovely, it showed a softer side of her. Will Hermione's news change Cordelia's mind, she has a temper and her pride is still smarting .
Gosh, I love Uncle Lance. He just lays it all out for Cordelia. He has nothing to lose. Now that Cordelia and Severus have sorted everything out, life should be perfect. Except for one little hiccup... Ugh! Too close to the end!
thanks for sharing your reason for removing/editing the story. I totally understand and aplaude your reasons.
I like your characterizations so much - I am going to miss your Hermionie and Severus so much when this story is done.
You have an interessting take on Hermione's character. It's not always exactly how I perceive her, but you do a good job of explaining her character and building her character development into the story.
I'm glad you're reposting the story; I never would have found it otherwise.
As far as this chapter goes, I LOVED IT. I loved how Severus tried to bend Cordelia to his will, but was failing... and that Lance stepped in with the perfect words. His words really WERE perfect. I think I'm falling in love with that little old poofter. :) One of my all-time favourite OCs.
And that ending! WOW! :D
I'm not sure I ever reviewed Denial the first time around, although it was to become one of my absolute favorite Snape and Hermione stories. I've not reviewed yet this time, either - waiting for the end, I suppose, to rave about how I love it. And I DO love it, just as much this time around. The reason I'm reviewing now is to point out that Stephen King has referred lovingly to Jo Rowling as 'Queen of the Adverbs' - proof that it's not such a bad thing!
Poor Hermione! She will really have some adjustments to make. I'm glad, though, that she sees her responsibility in not listening to Severus. I wonder how he and Cordelia will react.
I'm not sure why anyone would be unhappy with this chapter. Hermione and Severus were a bit indiscreet, but in the end it brought matters to ahead. As fasr as severus threatening Cordelia, well he IS a Slytherin, and she was being petty. Good old Lance for cutting to the heart of the matter and bringing some understanding for both Severus and Cordelia. And Hermione, up the duff. Oops! :)
