I'm a dabbler in poetry and fiction, and I simply adore Severus Snape and my favorite ship is SS/HG. I love to read and travel and fanfiction is my escape from the mundane!!
Reviews for Stained Glass Shards
Excellent update! I thoroughly enjoyed Harry being chastised. I give Severus credit, my husband would have hexed first and collected the bits later. lolI'm so happy that you are telling Hermione's back story in this format. It gives me a chance to process what has been done and temper it with the love and affection the two of them share now. It had to have been harrowing for her to live through and now talk about, and I'm sure the worst is still to come.Ron is still as clueless as ever. Can't wait for the next chappie! :D

I'm glad that my reverse story is working... I liked the idea of flashbacks, but I didn't want the whole story to be a flashback. I was aiming to make it easier to understand why Hermione and Severus would come together, so by explaining to the Order, I was trying to get more emotion across than just words... I think I may have succeeded a bit!! Next chapter is in the queue!
WoW!!!! I so love this story. Never read anything like it. I can feel every emotion of Sev and Moine. "Please, I want some more."

Thank you SO much! I appreciate the kind review and I have more in the queue! Stay tuned!

Thanks for the reponse. I went to your livejournal. You do poetry really well too. I bookmarked your list of other authors. There are enough stories there to keep me busy for a long while. I look forward to your next installment. Do you post anywhere else, or mainly here? Only reason I ask is a lot of my "favorite authors" post more than one place and sometimes different stories. Well, that's it for me tonight;. Need to get some sleep, work tomorrow. (directed at work, not you)
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thanks so much for the compliments and enjoy the faves list...I need to update it! I post here and at Ash, FF.net, and GS100. Please, feel free to friend me on LJ if you like... Don't work too hard tomorrow!
I'm pleased to learn that Hermione called Harry out on his childish behavior. At this point, Harry's not interested in hearing anything that doesn't validate his feelings of blind hatred towards Severus. Until Harry manages to man up and face the fact that Snape isn't the devil personified, his overwhelmingly toxic attitude could negatively affect Hermione's continuing recovery. I think someone seriously needs to drag Harry out of that room and knock some sense in him.Remus seems like the perfect candidate for that particular dirty job.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
I think Harry needs to get some sense knocked into him... He is quite self-centered, I think. Remus will only stand for so much... perhaps this time, instead of worrying about what Harry thinks, he will stand up for what is right. I always thought he was a bit cowardly to never say anything to James and Sirius when they attacked Sev.
I wonder what the salve was? Did it contain hormones? Poor Hermione, finding out about the reason for Narcissa's death. What a guilt to carry! And it's interesting to see even at this early time, that there is at least one similarity between Eileen Prince Snape and Hermione - their bossiness!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Such wonderful question! And answers are coming SOON! And I do love playing around with Eileen's character. She is a bit of a take charge kind of lady! Poor Sev, he won't know what to do with it coming from both directions!
I *loved* Hermione's retort to Harry. She was right. It didn't matter what Severus did or said, Harry just wanted to hate him. Aaaaand I'm still loving Eileen. :)
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you! Hermione surely has Harry's number! More soon!
"Harry, you accused Severus of lying and other terrible things. I still say you don't want to know the truth; you just want to hate Severus."I'm very glad that Hermione confronted Harry about his behavior. It's clear that he was only interested in hating Severus, so maybe she took the stuffing out of him by saying so.The things that were done to Hermione while with the werewolves must have been the worst! What kind of Potion was she given that ruined her vocal cords? What was the curse that Bellatrix used to blind her? What was that damnable sticky, irritating salve they smeared all over her skin? That salve that smelled of werewolves. *shudders* Was it supposed to make her want to mate with a werewolf? With Lupin? Dear God! And Cissy was killed trying to protect her. I wonder what happened to the man who was Polyjuiced to look like Lupin? His outcome could not have been very good, either.I love Eileen! I'm glad she is there for Hermione. Somehow I think having another loving Mothering lady to keep her company will be a good thing. Thanks for this smashing chapter, Shell! I love this story!!!Hugs, Beth

Thank for the smashing review! Beth, you are a shot to my confidence, for sure! I wonder though, do I have you curious yet? LOL! Got more in the queue! Hugs, Shell
I think the way you're telling this story is really interesting, and It might just be me - was Hermione telling Harry and the rest of the order or just Severus? Otherwise, wonderful update - I'm really enjoying how each chapter gets a little bit more intense and exciting. Can't wait to read more.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Yes, all the narration is Hermione and Severus relating their experiences to the rest of the Order and to Harry. It really is leading to something good, I promise!!
Loved the update and I especially loved that Hermione saw rigth through Harrys motivation and took him to task for it. He wants to hate Severus for his own childish reasons, not for worrying over Hermione. Harry can take his so called friendship and stuff it where the sun doesn't shine, it can keep his singleminded head company. Dumbledore failed in his care for Harry, he migth have gotten the weapon he wanted, but he also got a boy with severe lack in emotional maturity and with a immature and rash behaviour pattern, a true loose cannon if one was ever seen.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
So glad you enjoyed! Hermione has definitely matured because of things she experienced. Hopefully, Harry will figure things out soon!
At least we know part of what happened to Hermione. Excellent chapter. ^_^
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Partly! She has been through the ringer, for sure! Thanks so much for your support!!
Disturbing. Did you consider adding a warning for torture?
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Actually, yes, I must have forgotten to cick that when I went through the list... sorry.
Excellent! I look forward to more.

Ohh, I love that you've included Eileen in this! What a wonderful tale you've weaved. Can't wait for more to be unveiled.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Yay! thank you so much and there is much more to come!
Wow, what a story. Good for Remus for silencing Harry. He needs a good swift kick, I think.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying! Maybe someone will conjure a gag for Harry, he doesn't seem to be able to keep quiet...
I love Severus' tenderness with Hermione. I'm as eager as Potter and Weasley to find out what's going on, but they were boorish to say the least. You'd think they'd've grown up by now.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Harry and Ron aren't long on manners, that's for sure! Questions will be answered! Thank for reading and reviewing!
Fascinating story! I really can't wait to see where it goes from here.

The Wizarding Village of Argante was quiet. Even at its busiest, it didn't have the bustle of Hogsmeade on a Hogwarts weekend or Diagon Alley on any day. But its history stretched deep into the mists of the past and of legend.Wow! I am blown away with the research you've done for this story. I could only find one reference to Argante actually appearing in Arthurian literature, and your use of the name for the charmed village in the story is inspired. After reading this chapter I have a better understanding of why Hermione's reaction to seeing Remus Lupine upset her so badly. She would have had no way to know that the Remus Lupine she saw brought into Greyback's camp was another Polyjuiced werewolf. I hope Lucius can get back in time to take care of this problem... wonder who the scapegoat will be...Apparently it has been six months since Hermione was taken by the Death Eaters. I'm sorry Narcissa was killed. Lucius now has no member of his family to share his days with, and I pray that Draco is all right. I imagine that the horror Severus will see in Cissy's memories will come close to the same horror he witnessed in Hermione's memories and perhaps even contain a piece of the puzzle Severus will need to end the Dark Lord's reign. When Severus carried Hermione across the bridge to enter the Vale of the Carn, I was thrilled. "the Lady; the Lady is home to the Vale." So they are both blood of the Five Handmaidens. Well done!I think the biggest surprise in this chapter was seeing Severus was in his mother's home, that Eileen Snape was there, alive and well. I like that you described her as tall and elegant. It's not how we usually see her portrayed, and it's a great way to bring her into the story as the "mother of the Knight."Thanks for a great chapter!Beth
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
I love King Arthur and have had a ball reading up on the different legends and stories... I have this definite idea of what the Vale looks like and when Severus took Hermione there it only seemed right that his mother was waiting! I am so glad you are reading and enjoying! More will be up as soon as it goes through the queue! Thanks for the encouragement! Shell~
I love stories that incorporate the mysitical elements of the Aurthurian legends like yours does. Everyone even fictional characters need something greater than themselves to inspire them. The long forgotten magic in your story stirs your charaters imaginations and moves them to be more noble then what they are. Ironically readers and writers of the Potter universe can sometimes treat magic rather prosaically, leaving out the wonder of it all. It is stories like yours brings back the magic.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
You humble me, I just wanted to write something to share my love for this ship, and I am awed that it has struck a chord like it has. Thank you so much for reading! I love the Arthur legends, too, and I could see some of the same elements in both worlds so I thought I would mix them up! Thank you again for your kind words...
Another spectacular chapter thank you
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you so much!
I am so totally trilled to see the update. I loved to get more of the background history, "Severus" tells it very well. Lucius involvement in saving Hermione was brilliant, and if Harry and/or Ron or others, in any way tries to demine it or in any way disrespect what he did, please hex them for me? He migth have owed her for saving him and Draco, but he was also a man who lost his wife in the most horrible way and defied one of the most dangerous wizards ever lived. Very well written as usual and I am as always looking forward for more:-))
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Severus does astound with his storytelling ability, doesn't he? LOL So glad you are liking, I have had a great time writing! And you never know when a stray hex might fly! More asap!
Make that fascinating! I hope that Hermione's strong character and problem-solving ability reasert themselves as she recovers.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you! Never fear, Hermione is a tough cookie! Thanks for reading!
Absolutely fasinating start.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thanks so much! :)
I was so pleased to see this update in my inbox! This is such a pleasure to read. It's like ice cream on a hot day!!!Hermione's ordeal at the hands of her captors is going to be very difficult for all of them to reconcile and heal from. I'm glad she is safe now. Severus' Mum is a nice addition to the mix. I am pleasantly intrigued by Severus' Knight title, and I'm hoping that Hermione will be revealed as the Daughter of the Four Lines - that would be awesome to the 99th power. I can't wait to see how their relationship develops. I'm saddened by the loss of Narcissa, but her demise was foreshadowed in the last installment. Lucius is in a position to do a great deal of good for the cause of the Light, let's hope he gets a chance to work his magic on the Lupin decoy situation quickly without too many obstacles. Thanks for a excellent chapter!!! I'll be hanging around the queue for more! :D
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Yay! I'm so glad you are liking my story! Things are going to get much more interesting, I promise! Stay tuned for more!
ooohhh.... a bit of predestination maybe? Interesting. Keep up the good work
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thanks! Nothing like a bit of destiny to get things rocking along!!
Oh no! I was hoping Hermione would have been spared all the horror, it looks like I was wrong. I hope Severus can help her. And thanks to Lucius and Narcissa for doing all they could to help Hermione escape. I hope Draco's not far gone either. And I couldn't help but wonder about Eileen Prince Snape! I would have never figured her being in the story as a live character! It will be interesting to read how Hermione and she get along together.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Well, that which does not kill you... Severus is a determined kind of guy, and if anyone can help her, I think he can! Even though the Malfoy's didn't help because they liked her, they did do the right thing. Poor Severus is always so alone, I figured mum might be a grand secret for him to have! More soon!
You can't just stop there! *grin* Where's the next chapter? I want, no I NEED to know what is going to happen next. ^_^
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
HEHE! LOL I just don't how I keep edging towards the cliffs with this thing...I swear I am not trying!!! More as soon as they put it through... :D
