I'm a dabbler in poetry and fiction, and I simply adore Severus Snape and my favorite ship is SS/HG. I love to read and travel and fanfiction is my escape from the mundane!!
Reviews for Stained Glass Shards
Oh CRAP, Barty Crouch JR! Little creep.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Yes, as creepy as I find Moody, I find Jr to be infinitely worse!
I am enjoying this so much and can't wait to read more.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
I am so glad! More is on the way!
Poor Hermione, what a terrible thing has been done to her.Excellent story!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
It has been harsh on Hermione, for sure. But that which does not kill us only makes us stronger! More soon!
Oooh -- I like how you made it work -- with BCjr impersonating Moody... just in a way that fits your fic. Nice! Loved the tender moments. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the Merlin explanation. :) Nice update!!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thanks! We are definitely getting into the meat of the matter - the next bit is coming!
I liked seeing Hermione and Snape together in a happy way and their love for each other in this chapter. Although, without all the crappy times it wouldn't make for a very good story, so I like those too :)
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
LOL - yeah, wouldn't be SS/HG without the craziness and bad stuff! More is on the way!
Gah! O.o Things are getting interesting!!!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Oh yes, we are getting into the crux of the story. Things should really heat up now!
OMG! I did not see that final twist with Barty Crouch coming. Good for you!I like the way you are weaving the story of King Arthur, Merlin, and Nimue into the story of the origins of magic: Oh, Merlin was magical, but he never had children. He was kin to Nimue, not her lover or her teacher. Some of his actions led to the dispersal of magic into the mundane world and he played around with magic that released the Black Witch into Britain, but he didn't directly participate in the propagation of mgic into the world."And finally Harry and Ron got on board with the idea that Hermione was who she said she was, and that she and Alexander had to be protected. It was good to see the two young men act with Albus to disarm Mad-Eye Moody cum Barty Crouch, Jr.I love this story, my friend. Thank you for sharing it with us.Beth

YAY! I ike catching people off guard! I have had a ball with the Arthur legends - of which there are many... Harry and Ron have their moments, but you know how stubborn he can be. I don't want to give anything away, though! Thank you for reading! I thrills me to know I have shared something that has reached so many people. More soon, my friend.
AU all right, because I believe BC Jr was kissed at the end of GoF, wasn't he? Or is that just what JKR wanted us to believe. The descriptions of Hermione and her panic attacks are very vivid. Good job. ^_^
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
I fiddled with the time line just s bit - I really wasn't following canon too strictly at all, especially if I needed a plot twist! More soon! Thanks for sticking with me!
yet another brilliant chapter, you keep getting better and better. the twists in the tale keep me reading
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Oh, wow, thank you so much for the review! I will have more for you as soon as I can, glad you are enjoying!
Thank you so much for another great update, the twist at the end with Barty as an imposter yet again was totally brilliant and I cant wait to read more.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you! barty just popped up at the end and trew me a plot twist! More is on the way!
Idiot Moody. Lovely Severus and Hermione family unit! And what is up with Barty?
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Love the plot twists! More soon, with answers!
The vows that Severus and Hermione made during their handfasting were beautiful, and even though it's only for a year and a day, I think it's obvious how much they love each other and will want to make them permanent. And having a son will be another reason to make their vows for forever.
Eileen is a good "Mum" to Hermione, and my heart went out to her as she worried over her daughter-in-law's morning sickness... that lasted all day... day after day. I hate to think that the reason Severus was delayed answering his mother's owl was because the Dark Lord had punished him. At first I was shocked that Poppy had kept the message from him, but knowing how sick he is, I can cut her some slack. He was so badly injured that I might have killed him if he'd tried to leave; what good would it do for him to know he was needed if it would kill him to try to go to his wife? Having said all that, I can still understand how Severus could be furious with the healer, but she couldn't have known he and Hermione were married.
I have to give Molly her props, too. After hearing Hermione's story about how she and Severus came to be married and have a child, she really did an about face. Maybe she can convince Harry to change his tune, too.
Yippie! for another great chapter!Beth

Thanks so much for staying with me on this! There is more in the queue and more information and explanations AND more intensity!
Poor dear Hermione, she just never seems to get a break does she? Morning sickness is bad enough as anyone who has experienced it already knows but to have it all day, my heart goes out to her. I can't imagine how powerful and amazing their child will be and what ultimate roll that child will have. I love how Severus is still himself but has given his heart over to her. Can't wait for the next chapter. :-)
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
morning sickness is not a fun time for sure, and add to that fluctuating magic! I promise that it will be worth it in the end for her though! That which doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Her son's strength will stand him in good stead as he will be the next Kight of the Carn - fully acknowledged at that. more on the way!
Poor Hermione! At least Severus is back now though.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
I do so love a knight in dark robes!
another wonderful chapter,
I hope Poppy will realise she could have killed Hermione by not letting Severus have his message...
thanks for posting
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you! And yes, Poppy will come to understand what she did. More soon...
Oh yuck! Magical morning sickness! Poor Hermione, she's really had lousy couple of months. Thank goodness Severus got away when he did! Excellent chapter! I hope old Voldie-pants doesn't ruin the reunion. I love how they treat each other when they're together. Severus is everything that a partner should be and more, while Hermione seems to be getting very good at reading Severus, developing the skills that make a marriage work. Well done!!! :D
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Hermione certainly has had a rough time of it! Things are starting to look up for them both. I am glad that you like my idea of them. I wanted to keep them in character, but to be more than that too... More soon!
Most excellent chapter with just enough information to make me want to read more. Well? Where is it? ^_^
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
LOL! More info on the way!
Hermione's not just having Severus' child, she's having a special child, a powerful child. I'm curious to know just what having a child borne of the Vale blood means!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Well, eventually he will be the Knight of the Carn, but there is a bit more explanation coming over the next couple of chapters. Thanks for the review!
Thank you so much for another great update. Severus is allowed to be as snarky as he want to be as long as he loves Hermione as he does here, I am so in love with how you write them, it is beautyfully done.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you so much! I am trying hard to keep him in character for as much as possible. More soon!
Oooooooh. So much interesting information! i had no idea that it would be this complex, but you've done very well and you haven't lost me :) Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you! It did run away with me just a little! I wanted to make sure there were no plot holes!! More soon!
Oh, how cool! I kind of love how blending two Vale lines will create a very powerful child -- and that the baby's so powerful, that it's making her sick. (I don't love that she's sick, but the concept is still cool.) *grin* I love a swooping-and-sving Severus Snape. :D
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Glad you like my plot line - I was worried that it might be a bit trite. And I can only imagine how powerful a child with Hermione and Severus' DNA would be something else! And who can resist Snape to the Rescue?
Aude de Remus is no longer an exceptable scent to Hermone. One can surely understand why now. After being doused with what is an attractant posssibly? My thoughts went to deer hunting, and when the hunters scent themselves "doe" to attract and mask their own scent when hunting.I of course am probably off the mark, but that is what popped up in my head. I like Serverus' mum. :)I look forward to the next installment with keen interest.Thank you for sharing~

You are certainly on the right track! YAY! I am glad you like Eileen, she has become a fave of mine as well. More as soon as possible!
love how stupid Harry is being...and this story gets better and better
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
THank you very much! Stay tuned for more!
Eileen seems like a very wise woman. It's nice to see the before and after here with Severus and Hermione. And Hermione is right. Harry just wants to hate Severus. He and Ron need some pacifiers to shut them up.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
LOL! Why is it that when boys get older all they get is taller?!? I am so glad you like my Eileen. I was afraid to really explore her character at first, in fact she was intended to be a ghost, but she was so easy to write when I started thinking about how she may have interacted with Severus with no one around. It just ran away with me! Thanks for reading! More soon!
