I'm a dabbler in poetry and fiction, and I simply adore Severus Snape and my favorite ship is SS/HG. I love to read and travel and fanfiction is my escape from the mundane!!
Reviews for Stained Glass Shards
Wonderful story! I know I started reading this years ago under SandlapperShell, but I don't remember where or when. I'm so glad I got to read this again! I'm so happy that Neville got to experience his mother lucent and aware before she passed. And Luna, what a tragedy. But she always has had an other-worldly quality to her, as if she belongs to a time not ours. Camelot being seen? Is it just to Magical folk? Because I imagine that Muggles being able to see it again would cause a catastrophic stir!

Thank you so much... Sandlappershell is my LJ handle... maybe you saw something of mine there. This is actually the first place I posted this story. Luna does seem to be akin to the Fairy, doesn't she? And Alice fulfilled her destiny. Camelot is there, but the Muggles only see the ruins of the standing stones that dot the moor. I am glad that you are enjoying the story - there is a little more on the way. We are almost done!
OH NO!! Who will take Luna's spot?!?! Such sadness, but Voldy is dead =) Great chapter. Can't wait for more!!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
More is on the way! Luna's place will be filled, never fear!
Please, please, please don't leave it at this. Write more, please, please, please. *puppy dog eyes* ^_^

More in the queue! I would never leave you hanging... well, not for long, anyway!
Thank you so much for a fantastic chapter. Have I told you lately how much I love this story? To be sure: I absolutely, totally adore and love this story and a new update always makes my day:-))
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank YOU so much for the cheerleading and the support! It thrills me to know that my story has had such a warm reception. You make me want to write more!!
Wow, that was unexpected, but wonderful. I loved how the ritual went, with the dagger being right there with him all of the time, and Hermione being the one to retrieve it and by doing so, regaining her eyesight.Poor Eileen. She has no idea whether either of her children will return from battle, and that must be quite frightening. I do hope that all goes well.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you so much. It is definitely getting nail-biting... more as soon as it goes through!
Well, you can't fault Barty. It worked for him the first time :) Hopefully as time wears on, Hermione will not have so many nightmares or these episodes of panic.I am interested to see what is coming in terms of the rest of Severus and Hermione's tale and their plan.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
She is slowly getting over her fears... it is a bot overwhelming when you can't see what's going on around you. The answers are coming... and the plan!
Even though they were forced into this bonding, I don't think for one minute that they will not continue on after a year and a day. They may not be madly in love yet, but there is a strong bond between them, and all of the bad things that happen to them will only strengthen that bond. That goes for Hermione and Eileen as well. They will definitely be closer after all of this. I hope she can survive the pregnancy!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
There is definitely a bond there. Eileen has someone she can fuss over and Severus has someone who just takes him at face value... no strings attached.
Wow, what a beautifully powerful chapter. Despite how things started out, this played out as perfectly as it could have. He was afraid to talk to her about this, but he did a wonderful job, and her response to him was just what was needed. I love how he cares for her in this story. And we find out the source of the title. Lovely.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you! They each think that there are things about themselves that would make the other uninterested and neither knows really how to fix it - sometimes all it takes is a shove in ther right direction! More soon!
Oh, Harry, still being a pain, I see. Interesting about Luna, and her mother as well. Poor Severus and Hermione! I hope things go well for them. Well, a girl can hope, can't she?
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Oh yes, hope springs eternal! And Harry just can't help being a butthead.. :)
So, I just pulled an all-nighter reading this. It's awesome. I love Old Magic stories. I do have to ask though, what was up with the bottle cap when Lucius brings Hermione to Severus? Will that be explained later? Just curious. Please update soon!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you so much! I am glad you liked my story! The bottle cap was the Portkey back to Spinner's End. Nothing too fancy, I'm afraid! More in the queue... stay tuned!
Response from ader_snape (Reviewer)
Oh, I must have totally missed that. (To my credit, it WAS 3am!!) Can't wait to read more!!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Yes, I understand completely as I find myself reading at 3 am a lot of times! More on the way!
Something tells me this story is almost over! it's been great can't wait to read more!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
We are headed into the ending... there is more to come first, though! Thanks for reading!
Very interesting how you are weaving this legend into the HP story. Hermione is taking all of this unusual news surprisingly well. Of course, after what she has been through, noting is probably shocking to her. I am glad tha she has Eileen to keep her company.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you! Poor ole Hermione has had a rough time of it. Eileen has definitely been good for her.
This is going to be a difficult story to tell, for sure.I like Eileen and the fact that she is considered dead, but is obviously not so. And her interaction with her son is great. Poor guy doesn't want to be pestered by his mother :)Another great chapter!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
:) Thanks! Even the most intimidating of Potions masters have a mummy they love! Hermione's story is difficult, but that which does not kill you only makes you stronger. She will definitely gain strength through this!
Oooh, this just gets better and better. I should say more, but I've got more chapters to read ...
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
LOL Thank you so much - go and have fun reading! J sure had fun writing!
Good grief, Harry. Shut up so the rest of us can find out what is going on!I loved the scene with Voldemort and his followers where people keep butting in while he is trying to plan and punish. It was very comical, but not in an inappropriate sort of way. I guess it was just nice to see him out of control for once.I am a bit afraid to hear this story ...
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
I am sort of surprised that he didn't go wild and just blast everyone in sight! Harry is not the shy one in this case, for sure!
What a great, intriguing start. So many questions to be answered ...
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
I hope by the end, you will get everything answered... have a great trip, but hang on - it gets a bit wild!
I hope you won't be offended if I say this but, I'll be damned! That totally caught me off guard! Hermione got her sight back (YAY!) and the Carn was actually the tattoo on Severus' back. That's remarkable! Do you really think it was Voldemort's magic that the ladies were sensing while they were performing the ritual?
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Not offended at all! In fact, I am tickled that it was a good twist! I think that Voldemort has a little of that original evil in him, but whether he knows it or not remains to be seen... more coming, we are getting to the end!
Excellent chapter! I'm still wondering about Alice, though. If she's cured, will Frank be cured as well? Loved how the legends were woven into the storyline. ^_^
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you very much. I wanted everything to be as authentic as I cound get it, so I am glad to know I got the stories knit together well! More answers are on the way! We are getting close to the finish!
a spectacular chapter, full of information, I loved it
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
YAY! I know everyone was glad to get those pesky questions answered! More on the way!
What a great chapter! I had no idea that Severus' tattoo was in fact the Carn. Brilliant way for the magic to hide it in plain sight! I love what you do with history, legend, and SSHG.
The explanation of how the Carn drew the dark magic from Hermione's cursed eyes fits perfectly with what is known about the history of the Carn and King Arthur's battle to defeat the Dark Witch. I hope it will draw the power of the Dark Lord, too, when Harry faces him in the final battle.
As a mother, my heart went out to Eileen as she sent her son and his bride out to meet their destiny. I would have been crying and praying to"whoever and whatever" could protect them, too.
Great chapter, Shell! Hugs, Beth
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you, Beth! I hope that I have answered everything that needed to be answered! More soon and we are headed to a finish! Hugs back!
THank you for another fantastic update, the tattoo beeing the real dagger was a brilliant idea, just as its darkness cured Hermiones sigth. Very well done!!!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you very much - stay tuned we are almost done!
SQUEEEE!!! That was AWESOME! I was wondering if the tattoo was the Carn. Yay! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that retrieving the Carn from Severus's back healed Hermione -- that it drew out the Dark magic from the curse! EXCELLENT job... and now I'm looking forward to the battle! Whoop!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
:D Glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun with that chapter! Things are finally coming to an end... more soon!
Another wonderful chapter. I so enjoy these kinds of stories where history/legend is also addressed. Makes the story richer some how. Thank you for a wonderful story. It is my favorite.
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Thank you so very much. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing this story - history is a favorite topic of mine. We are heading to the end, so hold on! More soon!
Eeep! I feel so nervous for them going into battle! Very good description of the ritual and everything. Yay for Hermione's eyes and for them making their bonding permanent!
Response from sandlapper (Author of Stained Glass Shards)
Yeah, I was a bit nervous about the battle, too. Never know what will happen - Poor Hermione had such a rough time of it, it just seemed appropriate that she would get her sight back AND get her hubby forever! More soon...
*Giddy with excitement*Oh this is phenomenal. Now the Lady's are together, and things are drawing to a point.Harry is still an ass. LOLThank you for sharing~
