Wow! I have been trying to imagine this confrontation for so long and had NO idea how it was going to go. This was perfectly done! I love how H was completely confident and just put it out there plainly. No tearful apologies for her while he berated her, I was so relieved. “Are you naïve or merely foolish?”I have been wondering that for a long while.  The fact that only he has his eyes open to the consequences of the relationship -- and the number of people who know about it -- reinforces that she is living in some kind of fantasy where everything is without consequence simply because she has decided it is that way.  Magical thinking at its best.  She is acting like a teenager, a self-absorbed, self-centered teenager (which she is), and she is counting on the other teenagers around her to be themselves too self-absorbed and self-centered to notice what she is up to.I remember seeing this nature video once where some turtledoves were bathing in water about 2 inches deep and a turtle sneaked up on them, grabbed one and ate it.  I thought "What kind of a stupid bird are you to allow a TURTLE to catch you?"  But that is what happens to the self-absorbed.Hopefully Hermione is in for a kinder fate, though knowing you ... there may just be a turtle lurking in the shallows.

The confrontation/revelation scene between Severus & Hermiones *speechless* - perfect, just perfect - he truly has a brave, passionate lioness before him! I loved her raw, honest assertiveness & not denying herself & him their relations - beautifully contrasted with his denial, self-denial  and angst... Love the Blaise and Hermione scene - but, um, well, I feel Hermione's playing with Slytherin fire, as sweet as Zabini is, he is a red-blooded male... hehe! Something's got to give. Or explode. Or... Can't wait for more! Thank you for the enticing, making-readers-suffer-in-pleasure  work!

Oh you evil woman!!! I have to admit any other reaction from Severus would not have been believable, but still it hurts so much to see them like this! I can only hope the end of the year will be his deadline to realize how much he's denying himself. And the *gasp*... please let that be Ginny... so that she's thrown off course regarding Hermione's lover :-)Poor poor poor Blaise by the way. Thank you so much for a great update, it went as well as one could hope considering that Severus Snape was involved:-)) At least Hermione got to tell him that she loved him, that she knew all his arguments for why they couldn't work and that she still loved him, and even reluctantly, Severus admitted to his feelings too. So, if the two of them, especially him, could stop moping for what they cant see working, they should start looking for how to make it work: Is there an obscure tidbit in "Hogwarths A History" that could help them? A rule long forgotten? A rule never existing other than in their imagination?  They are supposed to be smart, they love eachother, it they cant find a way to have a relationship while Hermione is still attending as a student, they should get the grey mass supposed to be brilliant brains to work and make a commitment to wait for eachother until she has taken her exams. So, who was at the door? My bet is Ginny and that she, based on what she saw, now adds two and two together and get the wrong number. Hopefully whoever it is wont make life too diffecult for Hermione.
