Reviews for A Man's Best Friend
OMG - I love your capturing of an adolescent Severus and Lupin; this time of their lives; intrigued with professor Charmaine; love the respective friendship, sensuality and speculation captured - reading on asap!

Thanks. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.
Wonderful - absolute agreement with your depiction of Potter and Black - they were just as devious, despicable and foul as some of their Slytherin counterparts and enjoy seeing them so. Gushing over the potential relationship between Severus and Remus, as well as the new professor!

James and Sirius never rated very highly in my estimation.
Yeah, what's wrong with him? Nothing at all, finally!!! So glad he remembered, and just in time. He was able to save her, finally!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
It's all turning out beautifully. Happy New Year to you!
Oh honey, there's nothing wrong with him ;)I'm glad to see she survived. I can't wait to see what happens from here, although evil as you can be, I don't see anything but a happy ending coming up.

Nothing wrong with him at all. Happy New Year to you!
His memories finally shook out into proper form. And, he saved the witch of his dreams. Yah! ^_^
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Life is good!Wishing you a happy New Year, when it arrives!
Beautiful chapter - I love it that she teaches him to fly and find the power within himself; love the budding romantic interlude between them - yummy!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
She's sweeping him off his feet - literally!
I can't wait for the next bit. I'm so relieved she's okay. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Next chapter is waiting in the queue.
Love this so much, can barely write a review... my favourite characters Severus, Remus, Tonks ... powerful beginning, and love your capturing a Sev on edge... and capable of sorrow while still being defensive to cover any merging vulnerability...thanks
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thanks for stopping to review. I have to admit to being no good at that. I always want to get straight on with the story.
Severus Snape as a woman and constantly smiling. It just boggles the mind. ^_^
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
It's completely unnatural.
Such an interesting chapter. Now I must wonder if he can't remember because his memories have been removed, or because she had not gone back in time yet? Now that she has gone, will they all come flooding back to him? Will he sit there and wait for her so he can be the one to nurse her back to health? Perhaps she will appear in short order. The same amount of time doesn't have to pass in the present, does it?Time travel stories can be very confusing -- fun, but confusing.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
So many questions. I'm hoping the confusion will settle as the story progresses.
a wonderful chapter, and questions answered for Severus....
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thanks for your review.
In answer to your question of, "Who's confusing whom?, you are confusing me. I mean, not really. This chapter is actually pretty clear cut, but time travel makes me want to scream. Always. I can never quite wrap my brain around it, and it is maddening. That being the case, will they remember? Can they remember? Will it matter? You must update soon so I don't hurt myself thinking on it.I will agree Sunny33 is magic, finding the time between work and ballroom dancing. Imagine what she could accomplish if work were ballroom dancing. Just a thought ... :)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
I agree with you about time travel. It confuses me too. This was only supposed to be a one shot. Perhaps I should have left it there and avoided all the confusion. As for updates - they're coming, but may be a bit slow. Real life has intervened somewhat. (Sunny went on a shopping trip - to Australia!)
You just like confusing the characters and the readers! :)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Yep!
Sigh, so glad you updated. I love how she finds out it's him as she disappears. How long will he have to wait for her, and what will he remember... if anything? And... will she be alive? Gah!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
So many questions, and so few answers, yet.
Response from debjunk (Reviewer)
Oh, that's not the answer I was looking for!
See! I told you it was Hermione! ^_^
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
OK, smarty-pants, you were right all along!
This very interesting plot just thickened exponentially! WOW! This is an amazing turn of events. The spell Dumbledore used to keep everyone else who knew Charmaine from talking about her to Severus unless he asked... very clever. Now that Minerva has told him "her name," when Severus instructs Hermione about her assignment, will he recognize her name when he reads the assignment more carefully? Does he even know that she is to go back in time to aid his younger self? OMG! This could get very complicated very quickly! I wonder if Joanna Megansdochter knew just what she was asking Severus to do? Had she even seen the name Charmaine Bien-Aimée anywhere in the assignment plans?I can't wait to see what happens! Great chapter!!!!!Beth
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
It's all way too complicated, but I'm hoping it will all make sense eventually. Thanks as ever for your reviews.
Oh what a interesting update, I can't wait to see how this meeting turns out. Thank you so much for submitting:-))
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Next chapter is waiting in line.
I can feel it coming, and he's really close. I wonder if he knows her name is to be Charmaine Bien Aimee yet? Mwahahahaha!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thanks for the review (and the evil laugh)
Severus has no wife or girlfriend, and he still gets put in the sticky situation of assessing a woman's backside and then trying to sucessfully lie about it's size. Poor guy, but he gets through it in typical Snape fashion. This is getting interesting. Hmmm ... that makes it sound like it wasn't interesting before :) This is getting more interesting. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
As you've said before - the wording is everything!
He wondered what kind of memories the mongrel had passed on. Please, don’t let it be any of those daft drunken escapades of their youth.I was actually hoping that the memories had been of drunken escapades, AND she had found a way to make them clear his name. That would be priceless!“When you see her again...Tell her you love her... I love her... and you. I love you, Sev. You are my true mate.” Lupin gasped for breath. “Say ‘bye to Tonks.”Wording is everything, isn't it? Come on buddy, remember!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Youthful, drunken escapades are best kept out of sight of the oldies, I think. You're right, the wording is all important.
oh wow, this is getting interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Next chapter is in line, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long.
So sad for Remus and Tonks. Glad Snape is free. Where are those memories!?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Now, I put those memories down somewhere but can't remember where they are. Maybe with the car keys?
Love Minerva worrying about how big her bum looks! Poor Sev, if there ever was a loaded question... :)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
And he's soooo diplomatic.
Oh god. And I was having such a good, happy week up until now. That was sad, Quaffie. The Werewolf should live. I'm not arsed about Tonks but killing off Wolfie! That was sacrilege. But where ARE his memories unless he had Remus remove them because he was so grief stricken....hmmm? Brilliant chapter. BTW..saw Mr R on Monday night in his play in Dublin. I was within spitting distance. He and the rest of the cast were fantastic. Lindsay Duncan and Fiona Shaw (Aunt Petunia) were also on top form. It was quite surreal seeing him in the flesh and feeling his voice caress you first-hand. I'm never going to wash my ears out again. Just thought I'd share. Best wishes, Love Ali xxxx.

Wipe your steamy gegs and clean out your lugholes. Did you not see the wee synopsis about Snape mourning the death of the werewolf?
Good grief, why can't he remember? Makes sense that he tabled all his memories. It's always more mysteries with you, isn't it? Lovin it none the less. More now, please.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Madam mystery has more chapters in queue.
