Reviews for A Man's Best Friend
fantastic chapter, loved it

Thanks. I'm so glad you liked it.
Oh his desolation at his realisation! Well played with his anxieties and resnement while he waits for her return.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Another tough time for poor Severus.
With all his slip-ups she only completely worked it out at the end when the glamour (or whatever it was) was fading that she figured it out! Glad to see he's remembering. Now he's going to end up overwhelmed by it all now, isn't he?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Hopefully he'll remember.
Thank goodness Hermione forgot about Remus' cage locking until after the full moon sets. This way she and Severus will have the time to talk about everything that happened and how they feel about each other. And where they want to go together.I'm looking forward to the next update! I've fallen in love with your story.Beth

There's no running away now. I'm so gad you're liking the story.
Aw, she really is no good at hiding her thoughts and expressions, isn't she? Are they supposed to be a triad, but denied by circumstances? The photo's quite funny and seems important to her, is it going to come into play again?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
It's all a bit... complicated.
LOL. Gotta love the drunken escapades of Remus and Severus. Ah, Lily and James wedding - explains a lot. I like how Remus says what everyone thinks, but puts a good spin on it.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Glad you're liking it.
I didn't think the Shrieking Shack was exactly part of the school grounds, but oh well. Strange that Dumbledore's forcing Severus and Remus to leave...unless his policy changes in the future.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
That's just my canon holes showing.
Interesting that the mark has made Remus transform. Will this allow him to resist Voldy or is it just a passing moment?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Interesting question.
What's life without a threesome? I mean this threesome... I mean: if Remus had the silvery whorl marking, and Charmaine has it and Severus has... through the Unicorn blood, they do share something bonding with each other - in more ways than one? I know - must read on!... (oops, where's the next chapter - *groveling like Wormtail for it!*)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
No need to grovel. The next chapter is waiting in line.

Hope I haven't offended you - I'm having a hectic time, but was determined to find & read & catch up on various writers to help get my dosage of Severus & others, so I may have been a bit 'punchy' in my haste, on a quick break/wanting to leave a quick note. Just wanted to write that I really love, appreciate and admire your intricate, interweaving of three of my favourite characters and your skill with each chapter to keep re-layering the plots/sub-plots... and I adore the Scottish-ness, and look forward to more!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
I'm not at all offended. I'm delighted, as ever, to receive your review, and just reflecting your own words. I continue to be amazed that anyone actually reads, and enjoys, my writing.
Ah, they were so close to... - have I written that, besides being brilliant, this is a big tease - now, I'm becoming like Severus, grumpy, cantankerous - and yearning for more - undeniably! Reading on!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
The teasing is half the fun.
Brilliant... and beautiful *deep sigh*... and the-biggest-tease-of-a-cliff-hanger: must read on!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thank you.
I'm glad she was caged so they can finally get to bottom of this confusion. She is quite hard headed, and very good at jumping to conclusions with out all the information. *giggle*Thank you so much for sharing~

They're both as bad as each other.
Interesting developments with each of their marks. Does this mean Telia was a DE before Greyback?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
You're going to have to enlighten me about Telia, please. I admit to knowing nothing of Telia.
Response from Jinxie (Reviewer)
Sorry, predicta text changes words on my phone. It was supposed to be Remus. LOL, although Telia would make a good drag name... ;)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Hehe! Sounds perfect for him!
Well let this set a precedent for all future SS/HG stories. I now believe that every tale must have a locking, won't open until morning cage. How much simpler would that make things for these two? It's nice when running is not an option. This was a lovely chapter. I'm not even specifically sure what I liked so much about it, I just did. Things can only get better from here, right? While they ended the evening not at odds, it is probably just was well that they save the heavy stuff for morning when they've both had a chance to think about where they are at now, and where they wish to go from here.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
What an excellent idea! Perhaps, the cage could become a required prop, to ensure there's no escaping 'the talk'. I was going to suggest locking them both inside, but they may come to blows, and she'd end up with the puffy eyes again...
Great way to depict the love-hate relationship that's building between Severus and Remus. Remus seems to see and be more aware of the underlying tension between Charmaine and Severus, yet seems slightly jealous.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
A bit of tension adds a bit of fun when you're reading, I think.
I think the wolf summed it up quite well. Nicely handled and glad to see the return of Severus's temper while being shot down by Charmaine.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Can't have Snape being too nice, can we?
Is the 'sealing' in reference to the relationship or to healing the wound? Lily's really good at caring, isn't she?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Don't you just love Lily.
"This wee, beige jobby?”Snape scowled darkly.LOL! I would imagine he'd more than scowl at the reference, but then again he may not have known the meaning...Interesting that the Unicorn's turned on him and stabbed him. Is there a reason to this?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Read on and find out.
Poor Severus, double whammy to his perspective. How long before he can remedy at least one of those misunderstandings?BTW, good way of handling the Lily incident. Your reasoning fits and seems more plausible than the canon version. But, that's just my 2p. ;)
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Poor Sev, indeed.
LOL. Good way to teach him to fly: fly or get wet. Nice.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Fly, or get freezing cold and wet. It adds a bit of an incentive, doesn't it?
I like the way you've explained his discovery of being a natural Legilimens.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
I'm glad you liked it.
Too funny that James is setting Charmaine and Severus up, albeit unwittingly.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
He only sees it as baiting Severus.
Ah, if Potter and Black have gotten him in trouble in class over the word I can guess how it's going to play out for the scene with Lily. Again, nice perspective!
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Thank you.
This was a moment of payback from Hermione isn't it by deeming him "adequate"? Lovely.
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Too true.
Interesting take on having James and Sirius in the superior Pureblood mindsetd instead of Severus. I like the angle you're depicting this story from.Is Charmaine actually Hermione?
Response from quaffswinegaily (Author of A Man's Best Friend)
Charmaine, Hermione? How could that be?
