Welcome to my world of (largely) erotic exploration of the human condition. (Well, that's one way of putting it anyway ...)
My writing is largely rated NC-17 and, as you will see, contains a lot of explicit detail. But I cannot write without developing believable characters, largely in canon (at least as a starting point), whose behaviour is established through dialogue and tangible situations. I adore these characters and tend to write from the inside out, getting inside their heads and simply letting them talk (and act ...). Yes, there is a lot of sex, but I hope my characters' sexuality enables them, and us, to discover deeper aspects of their personalities.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FRIEND ME ON LJ WHERE MY USERNAME IS LAURIELOVER1912. YOU CAN ALSO FIND ME ON FACEBOOK (LAURIELOVE).
My favourite pairings are Hermione/Lucius and Hermione/Severus, but I have written for various other couples and situations.
I have recently started writing original works which have, fortunately, been picked up by publishers. If you are interested in my original work, my penname is Demelza Hart.
I love establishing a dialogue with my readers. Please feel free to contact me with comments, suggestions, criticism, anything. I look forward to hearing from you!
In the meantime ... enjoy!

Reviews for Out of the Depths
I can wholly appreciate what Hermione is feeling by taking on the burdens of his insecurity. Having been through the same scenario in my own life it is not something to be taken lightly. An insecure man can really drag you down if you are not optimistic. After awhile it makes you feel as if you are being smothered and pestered, and it is really quite annoying. I would highly recommend (if the fic isn't totally written already) that those emotions are further explored. All I can say is that Hermione is a strong witch and while I love me some Snape, I'd have to dump him on his arse for being so insecure constantly. On the bright side, he's a hunk and loves her, so it's all good, right?

He is being a pain, but I think he is slowly realising it and will hopefully change. Next chapter up now. Sorry for the delay - I've been on holiday with no internet. x
This was a wonderful chapter. I do hope they can work things out once her schooling is done. Maybe Madam Pince will retire and leave the Library open....LOL. I really love the power of their emotion and love scenes. Great new chapter.

Thank you so much. The library was not one I had thought of! LOL! More up now. x Sorry for the delay - I have been on holiday with no internet.
Poor Severus! I felt so sad for him as this chapter unfolded. I was actually hoping he would come to Hermione as he did. Thank goodness he was able to get past his initial hurt. Of course that dosn't mean things won't get nasty again when he sees Hermione dancing with Filmore. Then the big break through with Hermione's declaration of love was so exquisite. I wasn't at all sure how Severus would take that. You wrote it in the most tender, sweet way. For a fic that I thought was mostly a PWP, you manage to write the most beautiful, emotionally touching scenes. And because of the intense journey your characters have been on, they come across totally believable, which can be quite the challenge with the prickly Severus Snape. For sure.

Thank you again.I struggle to define my own writing.I mean, I rarely write 'plot' with lots of action and adventure and intrigue, and I do write a lot of sex, so does that make my writing PWP? Hmm - I don't think so. I write about relationships, relationships which are largely explored from an erotic point of view. I don't quite know what you call that!! Still, as long as people enjoy it, I don't care! More very soon. x
After your last fantastic chapter, the bath/shower scene here was a beautiful encore. And then the library... But the library has me a tad worried. Who was that getting a book and did they see or suspect anything odd was going on? Now poor Hermione! To be railroaded into going with Lawrence to the Ball. That thickheaded Ron. Of course Ginny should have been more help. Poor Hermione. I don't think Lawrence is truly understanding of the 'just as friends' part. And now Harry knowing! At least he was sympathetic and supportive. I'm glad he can see the way these two would make sense. Now all Hermione has to do is explain Filmore to Severus. Good luck there! This was quite an action packed chapter!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Yeah, it was a long chapter!!!Don't worry about the book thing - I only included it to add to the tension at the time - no one saw them.Yes, Harry is a good friend. We shall see about Lawrence ... x
Guh! After picking myself up off the floor, from the puddle of goo I melted into, all I can say is that this is one of the most unique and erotic chapters I've ever read in fanfic, and for these two, it's just PERFECT!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Goodness - thank you so much. It is a very special chapter to me too - so glad you enjoyed it. x
I bow before you. You have mastered the art of erotic prose. That chapter, oh my goodness. Let's just say it was whole... complete. Not to be matched. The pure need that was rung from them, especially Severus. It was so enveloping, I found my eyes frantically tracking from word to word. I had to go back and re-read portions. To you I sincerely say, thank you for sharing~

Goodness, what can I say?Thank you from the bottom of my heart. These two characters are so wonderful to write for and so special to me that I just love writing for them, whether it is sex or not.More very soon. x
I have read this story elsewhere in its entirity, but so love it that I have been reading it on here again recently, even though I haven't reviewed up until now. It is, without doubt, the sexiest, most erotic fanfic (or probably fic full stop) that I've ever read! And yet, you have Snape down to a 't', and the story still remains so wonderfully tender and passionate in turns. I'm not usually a fan of Snape/Schoolgirl Hermione fics but your writing is exceptional. However, what has really spurred me on to leaving a review now has been gersknightlady's comments. (gersknightlady if you're reading this I know you won't mind as you & I have had 'chats' in the past &, seeing as we both come from Christian backgrounds where we perhaps both look at things slightly differently to others, I just felt I had to say something.) I take on board what gersknightlady is saying about the coarse language in this but, unlike in so many fics, I actually think you've got it right in this instance. It simply shows the depth of joy/passion Severus evokes in Hermione to have her 'abandon' herself like this; there is, after all, a time & place for everything & (despite us readers being the 'voyeurs' here), this is supposed to be something extremely private happening between the two! This, like most of your other chapters, retains a very poignant, erotic & tender feel (making the sex seem beautiful and truly romantic, rather than crude as in so many fics.) Your writing powerfully gives an insight into this deep, complex man's true vulnerabilities. :-)

Thank you so much for your very kind words.I know some people struggle with the concept of Hermione as a schoolgirl, something which, believe it or not, I concur with entirely. That is why I tried so hard to make her 'not really a schoolgirl'!!!! I do think the dynamic between her, a pupil, and he, the teacher, adds that extra frisson, but I did not want her to be at all vulnerable or taken advantage of - she is certainly 'all woman'. In fact, the whole point of this story is that it is she who teaches him - the teacher/pupil relationship is turned on its head. And you have grasped exactly what I meant with the language. Yes, we must remember that when we read sex, we are reading about an intensely private moment between two people - it can seem strange at times, but we are not in fact there! Hermione is showing her complete abandon to Severus at this point, and although she is doing it largely unaware, in her soul she will know the reassurance she is providing to him by doing so.Yes, Severus is vulnerable - I am so glad I am managing to convey that.More very soon. Thank you again. LL x
I'm glad she told him, really should reassure him now. Would have bee nice for Severus to say it back. But it wouldn't be Severus if he had.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
No, it wouldn't have been. We shall all have to be patient. More very soon. x
Yay! I'm so glad she finally told him! I also think it quite fitting that he did not immediately respond in kind. That's not his style...but I am eagerly awaiting it!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
No, he wouldn't respond in kind immediately. We, and Hermione, will have to be patient. More very soon. x
Yep I'd be happy. (The language is hard for me to read. Not necessary. People who love have respect, they don't need that kind of language to turn them on). The emotion and power of the scene was amazing. You did an excellent job with his reaction to her pronouncement. I am so glad he came to ehr and said he was sorry. She is between a rock and a hard place. I juts hope he does not tear the boy apart when he touches her LOL. Looking forward to what hapens next.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
They've certainly moved forward a lot here.I appreciate your sentiments on the language, but this was certainly done deliberately and was not meant to be gratuitous in any way, despite its graphic quality. I did it to show Hermione's complete abandon to him. If a girl of her restraint can let herself go so much, allow her soul to well and truly manifest itself almost without her knowing, that is the most you can give to someone. That was the purpose of what I was getting at. I tried to express that a little in the chapter by refering to Snape's surprise at her language. I referred to it ars stream of consciousness, which indeed it was. And, indeed, as Sevvy has remarked further up - this was a completely private moment between two people. It is difficult sometimes when reading sex not to feel like a voyeur, but in reality I would rather we felt like one or the other of them, certainly when it comes to our perception of what is happening.Hope that explains things a little. More very soon. x
You are always so good at writing such steamy love scenes, and this chapter was no exception. Who knew such a nice girl could have such a filthy mouth on her? ;)I think it bodes really well for their relationship that she seems to understand him so well. Not that she should have to tiptoe around him, but she knows when to leave him alone, and when to press him. She knows when he is feeling insecure and just what to say and do to alleviate his fears. She just handles him well these days, and that is important because he is so emotionally fragile. Those three words uttered over and over will do more to assuage his fears from her evening with Lawrence than anything else could have. And he cried... How sad that he is that unaccustomed to being on the receiving end of love that it elicits such emotion from him.I believe this chapter moved us forward by leaps and bounds. I hope there aren't too many setbacks along the way. Great chapter!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
I think they both know where they stand now - not that that means completely plain sailing from now on ...As I have said before, this is definitely a story about a teacher/student relationship - but who is the teacher and who is the student?More soon. x
Think he might be reassured yet? ;)
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Let's b****y hope so! But, this is Severus we're talking about! x
I know I would be - Definitely happy and content. Great story!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Good! Thank you so much. x
That was one of the happiest, most satisfying Severus and Hermione chapters I have ever read and I loved every word of it. *sigh* I can die happy now. :)
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Aw, bless you. What a lovely thing to say. So glad you feel that way. More soon. x
I'm really enjoying this story. It isn't so angst-filled that you just get frustrated by it. It feels right. The lemons are absolutely luscious and, oh, I don't know, I just look forward to each new chapter. It's a good read, and well-written, and I think it'll be a keeper in my private collection - after all, it's only one of the two stories on this site that I alert!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you so much. Your words are much appreciated. I will try to keep posting regularly. x
I think Ron is a total idiot for putting Hermione in the position she now finds herself. I'm glad Harry is accepting of the relationship between Hermione and Severus. I think that if Hermione tells Severus of her feelings for him, he won't be so insecure about their relationship. Plus, I think it will help things when she has to tell him about going to the ball with Lawrence. While I think Severus won't be happy about it (who would be), he'll understand that she doesn't care for Lawrence in that way. Again, it all comes down to her telling him how she feels. I think he really needs to hear it.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Hmm ... read the next chapter, up now ... your words are uncanny ... x
Wow nasty cliffy LOL The chapter was powerful and the story has been very exciting excelent work.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! More now - at last. x
What a good friend Ginny is, and I am glad that Severus didn't fly off the handle when he found out that she knows.Their coupling in the corridor was intense and wonderful. I, like Hermione, like the mix of frantic physical need, and tenderness that was present in that encounter. And his "it was you"... are we referring back to their experience in the mortuary that has me so intrigued? I am excited, as always, to read the next chapter.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! All will be revealed in due course. More now - at last! x
Alright, Sev. Ya lost me. What "was you"? It's lovely to see how sexually attracted they are to each other. It's a heady feeling - like they own one another. But hmm....those words....
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
You'll find out eventually. More now -at last - sorry for the wait! x
Nice to see she has a confidante, and he wasn't too upset. :)
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
No. He's learning. More now - at last! x
Severus took Ginny finding out about him and Hermione very well, I thought he would throw a total fit. Great chapter.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you. Sorry for the delay in posting. Next chapter up now. x
Uh oh. Well, he *works* at the school, but he's not a *prisoner* there. Hogsmeade is within walking distance for students who *can't* Apparate, there's always Portkeys and the Floo. Even if she ends up in London, travel is nearly instantaneous. So I'm pretty sure IF Hermione goes into it with a reasonable head, she'll get a thoughtful discussion out of Snape.Assuming HE goes into it with a reasonable head....which may rather be a bad assumption.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
There are certainly ways to be together. They are still working out exactly what they want. x
ooooh crap! Hermione's got some thinking to do!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
We shall see. More soon. x
Oh my. All is forgiven? I'm not so sure, aye?I will have to be mindful about my abilities to wait patiently until the next installment. It's hard to wait when you feel invested in what is pleasantly unfolding before your eyes. Lovely! As always my friend, thank you for sharing~
