Welcome to my world of (largely) erotic exploration of the human condition. (Well, that's one way of putting it anyway ...)
My writing is largely rated NC-17 and, as you will see, contains a lot of explicit detail. But I cannot write without developing believable characters, largely in canon (at least as a starting point), whose behaviour is established through dialogue and tangible situations. I adore these characters and tend to write from the inside out, getting inside their heads and simply letting them talk (and act ...). Yes, there is a lot of sex, but I hope my characters' sexuality enables them, and us, to discover deeper aspects of their personalities.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FRIEND ME ON LJ WHERE MY USERNAME IS LAURIELOVER1912. YOU CAN ALSO FIND ME ON FACEBOOK (LAURIELOVE).
My favourite pairings are Hermione/Lucius and Hermione/Severus, but I have written for various other couples and situations.
I have recently started writing original works which have, fortunately, been picked up by publishers. If you are interested in my original work, my penname is Demelza Hart.
I love establishing a dialogue with my readers. Please feel free to contact me with comments, suggestions, criticism, anything. I look forward to hearing from you!
In the meantime ... enjoy!

Reviews for Out of the Depths
*Fans self* What passion! I think calling him Severus was the key there!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
I think you're right. Oddly enough, this is a slightly edited version from what I had originally posted elsewhere, and I didn't include her calling him that to start with. It just suddenly seemed the right thing to do. More soon. x
That was a hell of a kiss. :)
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Hmm ... and there's gone be a hell of lot more ... x
Very intense, Hope there's more soon!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! Yes - not long to wait, have no fear. x
I love Intense! It just boils up like a cauldron!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
More intense to come!! Thanks for your rating and review. x
This is shaping up to be a really nice story. I can't wait to read the rest of it.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying it. Much more to come soon. x
Ooo, their chemistry is INTENSE!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
It certainly is! Thanks for the rating and review. x
Great chapters, very interested to see how Severus will continue to react towards Hermione now that he knows that there is a 'spark' between them.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
We shall see indeed, but as this is Severus we're talking about, it will probably not be all plain sailing! x
WOW, that was intense! Great story, and I like the slow buildup of emotions.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you so much. Those pent-up emotions will need an outlet at some point ... x
So intriguing! I love the motion of the story, how they desperately they are drawn together, and with equal desperation, they jump away from each other... Like magnets that flip from attraction to opposition. Very, very fascinating!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
They do indeed. They are both terrified of this sudden 'revelation' of emotion. It may have been buried for some time, who knows, but it seems to have hit them both so suddenly, they don't quite know how to deal with it. We shall see ... x
*feeds the plotbunny* One approves of how things are shaping up, oh yes precious. More is coming, one hopes?
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
More is coming very soon, I can promise! Plot bunny hops madly! This is the closest I could get to a hopping bunny! Rubbish, I know! x
Very passionate, very intriguing...and I don't think we have even begun!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Oh no - lots and lots more to come ... Thanks for the kind words. x
Ooh fun's a comin'! Looking forward to the next chapt!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)

Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
It will get more interesting too! x
I think there could be an explosion soon. And I don't mean in a cauldron! ;)
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
We shall see, we shall see ... x
Wow! Another intense chapter. I love how you can convey so much with a look or body language, or just a step closer. His eyes - "the definition of infinity," indeed.I look forward to more.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! More soon! Ever closer ... x
He is afraid. Is he afraid of her or is he afraid of himself?
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
You're right. He is not accustomed to dealing with this sort of emotion, especially not with someone who genuinely used to irritate him immensely. But that was a child, and she is now a woman ...x
Pleased to find a new story to start. I haven't found a new one recently that interested me, but this one has. I hope it will be fairly lengthy?
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
So glad you are enjoying it! There are another thirty four chapters to come! So, yup - fairly lengthy! x Thanks for the kind words. More soon.
You have provided a very good beginning. I look forward to exploring their growing interactions. I really liked the scene of Hermione reading aloud from a book to distract her mind. Sounds like something that she would do. Thanks for posting, JoAnne
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
So glad you like it - thank you for taking the time to review. There will be many ... interactions to come, have no fear ... More soon. x
I'm interested. So far so good! :)
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! Hopefully, there will be a lot more to keep your interest. More soon. x
Wooo oooh! Fantastic! I'm lovin' the angst! lol How many chapters are there? Is it a WIP?
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Glad you are liking it! No, it has been completed. It is 35 chapters in total - a love story, essentially, although not the easiest, as you can imagine. More very soon. x
Sounds like they are both having difficulty finding their place in a poat-Voldemort world. :)
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Very true indeed. Perhaps they can help each other find that place. We shall see ... x
See, now, there's absolutely nothing "ugly" about him. The nose, the teeth ... JKR put all that into my head. But you manage to eliminate it entirely. Alan Rickman helps, admittedly. LOLAnd so does your writing. You manage to make his mysteriousness sexy. Instead of taking the easy way out of just putting his darkness on a platform with sex, you make his darkness part of the mystery of him. You let us know there's depth there, without revealing anything, and make her sudden "stomach flips" after almost a lifetime of hating him, entirely believable.Looking forward to the updates.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Are you professing a sneaking admiration for Mr Rickman!? Surely not!Yes, she hated him as a child, but what we hate as children we often find ourselves oddly drawn to as adults - perhaps it is the fear of the inexplicable as a child, the reality of which gradually dawns on us as adults ... (any similarities to Back to the Blue!?)So sexy, by the way ...There can be two. Oh yes.(but not in this story ... watch this space) LL x
I think you've got her perfectly -- that awkward stage of not a child/student, not an adult; she's lucky she's not being idolized by the students as a war hero. How are her parents getting on with her? Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! So glad you appreciate my characterisation of Hermione. She is certainly far beyond being a student, but feels obliged almost to conform to them. Still, there may be something, or someone, which draws her ever further from that conformity. We shall see ... x
I just found this story, so I have no comparisons to makewith any other versions. I think you've struck the rightnote with Hermione - not a child, but not too precociouseither. I can't cope with a teenage Hermione tradingwitty putdowns with a mature man who has a degree insnark! I'm looking forward to reading more.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you for your perceptive comments! I work hard to paint the characters in a believable way, as I truly feel they would be under the circumstances. Hope you continue to enjoy. More soon. x
An interesting start. How long ago did you write the first version? Is it online? I'd like to compare the two versions if you don't mind. ^_^
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! I haven't changed it too much. But it was originally written episodically (as indeed most fanfic is), although I had plotted it out fully first. When you write in that way, you tend to feel a need to satisfy your readers' needs with each chapter. That is the aspect I wish to tidy up a little this time. I will certainly not be changing it drastically, but there were some rather ... self-indulgent moments in the first version, shall we say, which I wish to sort out here, as I am relatively proud of what I achieved by the end of it and wish it to be consistent throughout. It is posted on ff.net and GrangerEnchanted. I started writing it about a year ago, I think. Thanks for the interest! LL x
