Welcome to my world of (largely) erotic exploration of the human condition. (Well, that's one way of putting it anyway ...)
My writing is largely rated NC-17 and, as you will see, contains a lot of explicit detail. But I cannot write without developing believable characters, largely in canon (at least as a starting point), whose behaviour is established through dialogue and tangible situations. I adore these characters and tend to write from the inside out, getting inside their heads and simply letting them talk (and act ...). Yes, there is a lot of sex, but I hope my characters' sexuality enables them, and us, to discover deeper aspects of their personalities.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FRIEND ME ON LJ WHERE MY USERNAME IS LAURIELOVER1912. YOU CAN ALSO FIND ME ON FACEBOOK (LAURIELOVE).
My favourite pairings are Hermione/Lucius and Hermione/Severus, but I have written for various other couples and situations.
I have recently started writing original works which have, fortunately, been picked up by publishers. If you are interested in my original work, my penname is Demelza Hart.
I love establishing a dialogue with my readers. Please feel free to contact me with comments, suggestions, criticism, anything. I look forward to hearing from you!
In the meantime ... enjoy!

Amazing ending to a wonderful story! You've done an outstanding job with these characters, bringing them together in a way that seems completely real and true to their personalities. Great job and I can't wait to see more of your work!

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. I have a couple more one-offs ready to post here. I will do so ASAP. Thanks again! x
Laurie, I'm just so grateful for this beautiful love story. It was just about as perfect a story for an old softie like me to read.I know this has no doubt been a great journey for you as a writer as well. You've written with skill and grace and style, and so much affection for these two characters. I am sure there will be those who like more angst or conflict, but I think there's enough of that in the world. You've given us born romantics something special, a story that will live in our hearts. The fact that their last night in Hogwarts on the Great Hall steps was so hot I'm surprise the ceiling didn't explode was a great read, as well. Your lemons are some of the best in fandom!Thank you again for this great story. I'm a little sad it's over, but inspired to go and finish the chapter for my fic. Well done, and I look forward to everything you will write in future.BTW, get yourself over to LiveJournal - There is an amazing community of writers and artists over there who would love for you to be a part of it. I gain daily inspiration there. Love, Teddy

Thank you so much for your lovely words. Yes, this is a romantic tale - I think Severus had suffered so much already that I didn't want to give him too much more grief. Hermione recognised that too and luckily had the patience to guide him towards happiness. I am on LiveJournal!! I have been for a while now and spend a lot of time on there. I started a fun HP caption comm recently which has proved popular and worth a good giggle. I'll look you up. My username is laurielover1912. xxx
I truly love how you have captured the complexities of the human condition within the characters. Also the vocabulary that you use fits their personalities very well. One of the best HG/SS romances I have read!

Thank you so much for your very kind words. x
They have come a long way! A very satisfying chapter as they continue to forge on.

Thank you! About to post the last chapter. x
Wonderful like all your work, raw and needy, I love it. Your writing is focused and intense, i think this is a good portrait if Snape. A miserable man not willing to trust or to love.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! Hopefully with Hermione's help, he can overcome that. x
I have the feeling that Mcgonagall is really going to flip, but it would be nice if she could find it in her heart to wish them well. I love this story and have enjoyed every update, I hope the next one is up soon.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
McGonagall is a good person and sensible - it may not be too bad. x
I can't believe they got caught! Well, that and they practically made it happen! Great story - I usually read it on my iphone which does not allow me to leave a review. Sorry for that. Since I was reading on the desktop, I thought I would review. I am really enjoying the story. Now, I am on edge - I can't wait to see what happens next!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! Not long to go now. x
Uhoh. Perhaps they won't be found out. Especially once they explain to Minerva what had happened. I'm sure Severus can twist things so it seems he was only showing concern for a student who was assaulted.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
I don't think Severus is too worried about what will happen - he just wants Hermione now. x
Well given that Filmore gave every appearance of attempting to rape her, I'm quite on Severus' side here.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Me too! Lawrence was odious with some alcohol inside him. x
Oh dear, indeed. What is the matter with you?!?! In this season of giving, I certainly hope you find it in your heart to give us the next chapter like ... now. What a sad little addiction I have to this story :)This was a great, great chapter. If I was feeling a bit sorry for Lawrence before, that has all gone out the window. It is ok to be a hormonal teenage boy. Even a drunk one. But she wasn't even giving him mixed messages. She told him in no uncertain terms verbally, as well as physically, that she didn't care for his advances. That crosses him over the line of total creep. Then there is the way he spoke to Severus. Completely out of line, and he would have been in deep trouble even if there had been nothing going on between Severus and Hermione. I was cringing the whole time. There was that moment where everything stopped and clearly people had taken notice of what was going on. It probably seemed a bit odd that he was taking up her cause so vehemently, but he still could have played it off as being a teacher that stands for no funny business from his students. He enjoys taking points from students and breaking up their fun, and even him pulliing his wand on Lawrence could be explained by the manner in which he was speaking to a teacher and about a female student. I was shocked when Hermione just blew the whole thing wide open. Was it instinctual? Was it intentional because she either thought they were beyond explanation or because she was worried he would really do something to Lawrence? Holy cow! Something is going to hit the fan, real soon. I can't even begin to predict what McGonagall's reaction and response will be. I have no doubt it won't be pretty, but I just don't know what to expect. I don't see any good way out of this. I liked the end where they held hands in both an "us against the world" way as well as and "in for a penny, in for a pound," mentality. Gulp.

I think he just realised there was not much point hiding it anymore. He is now secure in his emotions. We shall see what happens. x
This cliff hanger nearly killed me! Please update soon!!

Ah, I knew it was going too smoothly for them lately. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Sorry you had to wait a bit longer than an hour, but it is up now! x
Every time they are somewhere public I get so nervous. I don't know that you ever intend for them to get caught, and I actually hope that is the case, but still it makes me nervous.I am torn when it comes to Lawrence. I want him to back off and leave Hermione alone, but he is a teenage boy, afterall. He isn't really a bad guy per se, just hormonal and determined. So I am hoping that he does something dumb so he can get a good ass kicking from Severus, but at the same time, I feel sorry for him as he doesn't really know what he is up against, even if Hermione did tell him they were just going as friends. I guess part two of the ball will reveal all.It will be nice for them when they finally leave Hogwarts and can be together without hiding. They have finally firmly established what their relationship means to both of them. It is time that they can be a couple out in the open. They need that I think (not that I believe for one moment that when they are able to be together in public, they won't still spend every waking hour alone, just the two of them).I don't want this to end, but will be glad when their happy ending is firmly in place.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Always you leave such wonderful, thoughtful comments, which mean so much to me. I will say more about the 'getting caught' (or not getting caught) thing after the next chapter, which is up now. x
Too bloody good! I don't feel sorry for Lawrence at all!
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you! You won't be feeling sorry for Lawrence in the next chapter either, which is up now. x
Wow, I get such a grin on my face when I get the alert that another chapter has arrived. This is just such a lovely, lemony story. The passion is hot enough to warm us here with 20degree weather, and the story of their love is just so good. There's enough real angst in the world. I love the fact that they aren't filled with it.And its not JUST the fact that the story is fun to read. It is well-written and an enjoyable read. Not everyone understands that! Lovely story that I've enjoyed from the get-go. Always leaves me satisfied.
Response from laurielove (Author of Out of the Depths)
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. The next chapter is up now - it's a dramatic one! x
Wow...what passion fueled interactions! What erotically enticing prose. *giggle* Lovely, indeed.Thank you for sharing~

Great chapter. We have all come so far with our favourite characters in this story. It will be sad to have the story end but wonderful to have seen them grow.
