Life does not always turn out the way we want it to. Ten years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Severus Snape, thought by everyone to be dead, is living out his days in solitude on the edge of the wizarding world. Ginny Potter, meanwhile, is juggling a high-profile career, three small children, a Kneazle and a workaholic husband. A family crisis within the Potter household unwittingly brings Snape out of hiding and his and Ginny's lives are changed forever, with both of them ultimately offered a second chance for happiness. This story is mostly canon compliant but discounts the epilogue in Deathly Hallows.

Eek! What a place to leave us. It has been awhile since I last read this, so I don't recall if I should be angry at Ginny for having an affair, or if Harry was justifiably to blame. So, I chose to side with Harry here because it really was fun watching Ginny squirm. It didn't change the fact that his wife is having an affair, but I but it made him feel loads better ... for now anyway. I wonder how Ginny is going to approach this?

That was rather abrupt of Ginny to leave so quickly. Needs must with work and all I suppose. I hope she goes straight to the office. thank you for the contraceptive spell. With Molly's genes I would have guessed Ginny would be preggers in a heart beat.

James Potter was probably having a laugh at his expense. I think James Potter is beside himself with guilt over how he treated Snape in the past considering all Snape has done to protect his son and grandson. I have a mental picture of James Potter as Snape's guardian angel. LOL

Yes pivoting in the direction of down the toliet. I wish wish wish Ginny wouldnt have given him an out. Seems like she would have a more secure grip on the moral high ground w/o that comment. HA!
I really like Snape's idea about living his life free to balance out those when he had a master. Ten years he’d been free; another ten and his “life debt” would be repaid. That feels like a justice worth achieving.

He deserves it. I think he would die happy knowing he achieved that balance.
And Harry has been ignoring the signs of trouble for ages. Not that its all his fault, Ginny shares in the blame as well. I can well imagine that elderly witch sold her story of the "conversation" to the Prophet for many many galleons!

Thanks for your story and your note at the end. I must say I liked it very much, it was an unusual pairing but very believable. Personally I am not bothered by the adultery. Those things happen in our reality out there. It's called life.

Yes, what irony between Harry and Ginny--their getting along better and even more honestly after the divorce... such is life... It was a nice, lovely acceptance and arrangement, with time, for all--love Severus slowly adapting and adjusting as well as Ginny and children--love Albus and Sev connecting on some level--thank you for that!
