Reviews for A Simple Plan
Great story, interesting chapter!
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Thanks; next chapter is in queue. Focus will shift a bit, though ;-)
I wonder if that's really so simple a plan? I don't think they realize yet exactly the implications of what she's done. There was the potion acting, but I feel there was much to it. Not that I mind of course. I'm dying to read more.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Weeeeell, this wasn't the simple plan ;-) The simple plan will occur to Snape in the next chapter. Which should go into queue on Friday. Thanks for reviewing!
what an interesting way arround the pain for both of them. great update. thanks and smoochies
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Thanks for reviewing, and smoochies back ;-)
Wow. I am loving this. I read all 3 chapters last night til3:30AM and was too tired to leave a review. I noted from your replies to others that you have this story completed already, and it merely awaits posting. How many chapters is it? Needless to say I am dying to read them all.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Tsk, you should have read the A/N: All in all, the story will have nine chapters plus an Epilogue.*g*Thanks for reading and reviewing, dear. I should be able to post the next chapters fairly regularly, about every Friday, I think.
I am glad that Hermione found a solution to their memories driving both of them mad, but I was an iffy thing to do. But now that the "solution" has achieved the desired result, I wonder how their relationship will go from her on? I wonder if Dumbledore will notice that change in both of them and try to discern how this came to be?If Voldemort were to look into Severus' mind would he be able to detect the changed memory? Would Severus be able to Occlude well enough to make the Dark Lord see some other memory instead of this one? There is much to look forward to. Thanks for this update!Beth
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
I'll make you meet good old Voldy sort of soon, so you can find out for yourself what he finds in Snape's mind ;-) Thanks for reading and reviewing, dear!
The solution was horrifying and yet not horrible. I'm hoping they can get past it well.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
I must admit, I wasn't sure whether I should post the chapter. I wrote it ages ago, liked it back then, but well, putting it online is different. Glad you liked it anyway!
Wow, a brilliant solution to a diabolical act on both of them. Great chapter, can't wait for more.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Thanks so much!
Huh. Some seriously morally questionable acts going down in the dungeons tonight, I see. Interesting, though.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Definitely very questionable. But then, she doesn't tick completely right, Hermione. Not then, anyway. Still hurt, still in pain and eager to find a way out. Morals have to stand behind in such case, I think. Thanks for reviewing!
Of course Hermione would never accept an Obliviate- really, they should have known better. The brightest witch of her age wouldn't let pieces of her mind be removed, even the darkest bits. Good chapter. Perhaps a little bit bipolar, with Hermione's wild swings between hate, sadness and forgiveness in the hospital and the clearing, but this is Fandom- we know drama. (And don't we love picking on Severus...)
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
I guess, being bipolar is a side-effect of being raped, suffering from the pain as well as the swings. And she hasn't forgiven him yet ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
Dramatic start! Might I suggest, as a general writing tip (as an English teacher, I read a great deal of Hermione's 'dreadful essays,' and I can't say this enough), to avoid the word 'just' unless it is absolutely grammatically necessary? It tends to weaken prose. That's not to call your prose weak- heavens no! This first chapter really grabs the reader, first asks for then demands our attention. But stylistically speaking, it would be even better if you cut out all but one 'just.'
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
*lol* Thanks for the hint! I am not a native speaker, and sometimes, I cannot tell anymore what is good style and what is not. I will go through my manuscript I'm currently working on, and find the "justs" that don't belong there. And many thanks for reading and reviewing!
Very dangerous game. While reading I caught myself wondering how you would try to do the trick, only to realise in the end that you did it, and I still don't know how :) Thank you!
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
*grins* Thanks for reviewing, dear. Glad I tricked you!
The subject of rape, especially a brutal one, will always be a delicate subject to depict on any level. You did a remarkable job of finding a way for Hermione to heal from her ordeal, albeit in an unconventional manner. I must admit I'm curious as to how the rest of the story will unfold.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
It is not the first time I write about rape, and I always try to decribe it as harsh and gruesome as possible. I am glad I managed it here, and that you are not horrified at the solution she found. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Hermione definitely found a rather... unorthodox solution to their problem. It was was a form of rape in itself, yet an apparently effective protection from the full impact of horrifying memories that could have destroyed them both. And without making it obvious to Voldemort that anything is amiss, should he search Severus' mind for the memories of that night.Ingenious, yet still reprehensible just the same.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
"Ingenious, yet still reprehensible just the same" - I like that, as it is true. I also think she would have said the same, but then, she was the vicitm, she suffered, and she didn't think clearly. And it worked, which is all that counts, it worked for both of them. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
This is truly amazing. Very deep and thought-provoking, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
What happens next might surprise you, as it has not much to do with Hermione, or what she has done ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
That was a totally thought proviking chapter. In a way the roles were reversed but at least she gave him the option to say no. So in a sense she did rape him to a point but the actual couplation was consensual.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
He could have send her away - but she waited a very long time to ask him whether she should go, and of course, doing this in the first place was wrong. Does the end justifies the means? I don't think so, usually. Only that here, it worked, and that is all that counts. They are healed. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Her plan was a curious mix of Gryffindor courage and Slytherin cunning. And in many ways as heinous as Severus' enforced rape of her had been. Hmmm, is it as simple as two wrongs making a right? An interesting conundrum you've posed for us.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
I always considered her cunning; most of my stories walk along that line, and I think it makes sense - she is so very bright, and therefore, will think before she acts. Two wrongs making a right - I didn't think of it that way. And I wasn't sure whether I should post this chapter. I wrote it more than a year ago, and only upon putting it into queue I realised that it might cause discussions. In their case, though, what she did worked. Thanks for reviewing!
This is really amazing. The depth of both the emotions and the plot far exceed most works. Thank you!
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
I thank you for reading and reviewing!
I'm glad you are writing a new story. This is going to be a very interesting one.I so loved "At all cost" and "Unkissed".
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Well, actually, I wrote this more than a year ago. Currently, I post older stuff so it doesn't get mouldy on my harddrive, and hopefully, I will have some time soon to finish unfinished stories and even think about new ones. Thanks for letting me know about Unkissed and At all cost. This one starts dark, but will get better soon. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Wow. I didn't expect that - Severus' first time. I know this won't erase Hemrione's pain but I think it will drive her even harder to defeat Voldemort and I aslo think that maybe, eventually, she will see the situation as Voldemort raping her rather than Severus.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
She will find a way to ease her pain, and his, too. And her solution will give Snape the hint how to defeat Voldy. Hope that makes waiting for the next chapter a bit easier ;-) I will post it in about another week.
Wow. I'm going to assume an Imperious curse until I learn otherwise. I hate to think Severus could do such a thing of his own merit, and the summary does say that Voldemort is having a bit of fun (which just turns the stomach even more). Or maybe polyjuice? Either way, I'm ademently cementing myself in the "not Severus" camp until further notice. Thank you,
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
lol
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
As you already know by now, it wasn't his doing. I think I couldn't write a story where he's bad, anyway. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
whoa...that was heavy. i think you have her feelings down to a tee and his. this is a frighteningly well written story and i look forward to how it will resolve. thanks so much
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
Really nicely written. I feel very bad for them both. As bad as HG has it, I think in this case SS may have it worst (in the context of this story-not any "real life" comparisons). HG at least now knows that SS was forced to rape and beat her, it was not him doing it on his own free will. I think this will help her heal. I actually think HG may forgive SS before he forgives himself. I just hope they get through this, hopefully together at some point. And I hope Voldemort gets his! In any case, you are doing a great job on this story.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Definitely nor RL comparison for that story! This is pure fandom, I cannot strenghten this bit hard enough. In RL, I can not imagine the rapist being the victim.Voldy will get his punishment. Just keep in mind that this story is AU ;-)Thanks for reading and reviewing!
This is amazing.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Excellent chapter, I feel horrible for both of them. Voldomort is one sick perverted snake. I know it will take time for both of them to heal and I hope they do.
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
Let's say, Hermione finds a very unique way to heal them both. And Voldy won't survive this story ;-) Thanks for reading and reviewing!
My goodness. I hope you are a fast writer as I don't think I can cope with waiting for the next bit of this emotionally amazing tale. So powerful, so emotive...Well done you
Response from chivalric (Author of A Simple Plan)
*g* This story is finished, resting and waiting on my harddrive to get posted. So no worries about me giving up half-way through. The next chapter will go into queue Friday in a week. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
