Reviews for Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH)
So glad he comforted her. Despite her hard reactions, she knows him and that he's not the bad guy.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
She does trust him, and indeed, she could only have let out such anger and fear with someone she trusted implicitly. Thanks for the review! :)
Oh wheee! This is so much more satisfying and exciting to read than the original DH. By far. <3
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! That is a compliment of the highest order! :)
This story skims canon as closely as Second Life. Perhaps even closer. And the same as Second Life I find myself scared that you might decide to follow canon to the bitter end.The fear is not nice. Not at all. With Hermione hugging and kissing Ron every chance she gets, the fear only increases. Is this going to end as canon? Please make it deviate.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
More closely than Second Life, I'd say, because Lariope didn't quote dialogue and she shifted a few events and omitted a couple of others. You'll have to wait and see how this one ends! But I do very much appreciate that you care enough to be nervous: thanks for leaving such a lovely review.
So wonderful! Wish the updates came faster, of course, but I know I musn't be greedy :(I'm a little disconcerted by all the flirting Hermione is doing with Ron, despite her crush on Snape. Loved Ron's knight with the jaunty cap.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
I am going as fast as I can!! :) The next chapter is in the queue already, so it shouldn't be too long.Oh yes, Hermione really has to work out that whole Ron/relationship thing, doesn't she?? :) She does kiss him at some point in the near future, you know!!Thanks for the lovely review!
Yay! What a great chapter! I love how angry she got with him, pushing him to the ground and all. Her little 'invitation' at the end was wonderful...she misses him I presume. :) Great work...can't wait for more!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! If I'd just been tortured I'd feel pretty grumpy and in need of a hug myself :) I'm glad that you liked it. Thanks again for the review.
Another great chapter! I love it!!!!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! :)
sorry, i seem to be running out of superlatives in refering to your story. at the risk of repeating myself this is a wonderful update in a terrific story. i'm so entwined and enthralled. thanks and smoochies forever
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
*grins* Feel free to repeat yourself when you have only such lovely things to say! :) Thanks for the review.
wow
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Does that mean your speechless? *gThanks for the review.
amazing. Your attention to detail makes this all fit in so well with canon. I'm enjoying it so much!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! I only hope that you continue to do so!!
Really didn't expect them to meet what a suprise! I think the reaction from Hermione about being 'Snapes Mudblood' can be taken as positive or negative personally I want postive, I think she just found it a shock. She obviously wants to see him again. Great chaper.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
I'm glad that I managed to surprise you! :) She does want to meet him again, and she'll get a chance to. You'll hear all about Hermione's reaction in the next chapter--alredy in the queue :) Thanks for the review!
Oh my. Well I wasn't expecting them to meet. And he does too deserve her forgiveness, he's too hard on himself.I wonder about her thoughts on being chosen by Snape as her "Mudblood"? I think she really doesn't mind as much as he think's she does. But the flinching she did is questionable...I'm glad she got to relieve herself emotionally on his lap. She really needed some big old comfort, and he did the right thing.Anyway, I love this story, I can't say it enough!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
I'm glad that I managed to surprise you! :) The next chapter (which is already in the queue) includes Hermione's response, so you won't have to worry too long about what she thinks of things. After that horrible period in Bellatrix's hands, I thought Hermione deserved a bit of Snape time. Thanks again for the review!
What a wonderful chapter!!!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you! :)
Wow! Severus can definitely let his feelings show when he wants. I found it amazing that he's so in love with Hermione that he was in a complete frenzy until he found for himself that she was alright. I know Hermione was giving him a chance to meet with her, by telling him what time she'll be running on the beach. I hope he meets up with her.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
She certainly was fishing for an extra meeting or two! :) Severus has given up trying to hide his feelings from himself, and he seems like the sort to get a bit worked up every now and again. Thanks for the review!
Excellent chapter. I'm glad they finally got to see each other. I knew he wouldn't rest until he had assured himself that she was alright. I can also understand her anger, but I'm glad she forgave him. She has no idea the pressure he is under or the tightrope he has to walk. And it is much worse now than it was when Dumbledore was still alive.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! Hermione must have dealt with her anger and terror somehow; and from what we know from canon she certainly didn't get that kind of closure from Harry! :) Next chapter is already in the queue . . .
I love the restraint you write into Severus and Hermione's relationship. They are both prickly sorts and this kind of slow development is very in character for them. It's fantastic that you've managed to get up to this point in DH without them making any overt declarations. I really like that Hermione still calls him 'Snape'.And I see Severus is utilising his new power of flight extensively.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
If I could fly I'd make use of it, too! :)Thanks for the review. I'm glad that you're enjoying the long, slow burn. I agree that neither of them are the sort to leap into declarations or crazy impulsive gestures--even though Hermione is a Gryffindor, her canon self didn't exactly rush into things with Ron. Thanks again for the review.
Yeah!!! You know I am doing a happy dance. I absolutely loved this chapter. There is something about their relationship in this story that I just really like. Ironically enough, I can't seem to be able to define their relationship. They are not romantically involved, although I think that the underlying emotions are there. They have definitely moved beyond mere teacher and student. I would consider them friends, but I can't see them getting together on the weekend, hanging out at someone's place ordering pizza and watching movies and the like. They don't seem quite that friendly... and yet things seem to run much deeper for them than traditional friends. I am way over analyzing things :)I really like Jocelyn as well. And... I think she may become more important as time goes on. While canon Draco was never 100% into the Death Eater thing, I think your Draco shows a little more reservation in siding with Voldemort's crew and would probably not do so at all if his parents weren't in the mix. I think even though he is such an antagonist to the golden trio, he has some redemptive qualities.Being able to have her emotional breakdown with Snape was probably very helpful for Hermione. Not to mention that the possibility of getting info from Vector had to make her feel better about the task at hand. I hope he takes her up on her roundabout offer to join her on the beach in days to come. I think they are both going to need someone to draw strength from in the days to come.Well apparently, there is no limit to how many characters you can use in a review, but I ought to stop rambling and leave some room for others ;) Can't wait for the next update!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much for such a thoughtful and lovely review. I think at this point, Severus and Hermione are partners--working towards a common goal, but with mutual respect and admiration.I'm really glad that you like Jocelyn. I think that her presence helped the Draco of my story to clarify exactly what his goals were. Having a younger "sister" to be strong for might have been just enough for him to see things in a different light. In canon Hermione seems to bounce back from the torture with remarkable resilience. Almost as if she had some support we didn't know about!! Haha. :)Thanks again for the review; the next chapter is in the queue and shouldn't be too long.
very good! i'd be more vocal if i could get my brain to function properly....it's very late.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! I hope you slept well. :)
They communicated a lot without actually saying anything there. Sweet chapter. :)
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
They did, didn't they! I'm glad that you liked it. Thanks for the review.
I love how you clearly show that Draco is having second, third and even fourth thoughts about being a Death Eater. You also did a great job showing the family's desperation.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you! From what we saw in canon, Draco wasn't particularly happy about the choices he'd made. :)
oh my oh my. that was ever so much more intense than the original. well done!! smoochies forever!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Wow! Thank you! I'm delighted that you think so. :)
Draco is helping, good! :)
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
About time, right? :) Thanks for the review!
excellent! I look forward to more. I love that I can bookmark this so I can check in for updates now and then. I love the details from DH and the way you've worked your own details within it.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Again: Thank you! I'm just thrilled that you're enjoying the story. There is more on the way . . .
wow, this story is great. It is complicated and intriguing and I keep on reading.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very, very much! I'm so glad that you're still reading and enjoying it. :)
Good old Ron. His strategic mind is working again.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Once a chess player . . . ;) Thanks for the review!
I like the 'thinking' Ron better than the clueless twit JKR gave us.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Me, too! Thank you very much for the review.
