After a new law reduces witches to chattel, Hermione Granger finds herself married to Severus Snape in order to keep her from the Death Eaters.
Hermione begins to shadow Severus in his work with the Order. They begin to form a mutual respect and love for each other after Hermione works as negotiator to a matriarchal secret society, the Amazons.
Severus stations them in Russia, where his family has a home, and his cousin is active in patriarchal secret society, the Mystic Brotherhood, who has been at odds with the Amazons for years.
After the Final Battle is fought, one would think the Order would be done with its work, but after Harry is scarred forever, Hermione is given a holy artifact, and a mysterious string of Muggle murders catches the attention of the Ministry, it seems as if their work is just beginning...

WAit til his mom enters the picture...
Father? Oh my. But at least he comes bearing rare and expensive books. I guess there could be worse fathers-in-law than that.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Hee. Sev's dad is a pretty OK guy... except for a few problems with prejudice...
I have a soft spot for these stories. I shall wait to see how yours evolves.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Thanks! I hope you like it!
So his father is an animagus? The Snape family keeps astonishing me...
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
This is an older story so Snape's family is REALLY non-canon. They are a pretty interesting bunch, though. I hope you like them :D
Oh dear. And I thought it was a gift from Lucius!
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Hee hee! Lucius isn't that nice.
Response from cmwinters (Reviewer)
No, but he can be quite snide, on occasion. ;)Looking forward to understanding why Severus' father takes the form of an owl, and what the devil it was on his back!
Ah, Fred and/or George, always good for a spot on recognition of the truth.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
The twins are always good for a laugh :D
Why am I under the impression that the brown package contents are NOT potions inrredients. But if not I am at a loss of what it can really be. Any help?
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
I've done a bit of re-reading and maybe this is really potions ingredients like cardiospernum perhaps... Brave little husband who is following his wife's teaching suggestions.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Snape's one of those teachers that just don't get why their students aren't learning. As much as it kills him, he's going to try Hermione's suggestion.
Oh my, I have a feeling that things won't stay that cosy for long...
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
They're in for a lot of surprises!
the thot plickens! great update. thanks so much
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
New chapter should be up in a few days :D
Hmmm, wonder what's in the package to make Severus gruff and Hermione smirk? Tune in next time?
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Hee hee! Sev's already listening to his wifey!
Potions ingredients? Hmmm, are they really? Lovely update, merry christmas!
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Sev's afraid of showing any signs of weakness, including listening to other people, and ESPECIALLY listening to Hermione, but he's being forced to see her as an equal and he's annoyed with her degree of competence.
Whats in the bag?!?I think after what Fred or George said, Severus is going to notice a few things *winks*. (I do hope so anyway hehe). HAPPY HOLIDAYS! x
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Leave it to the twins to get the ball rolling...
“I don’t make it a habit to molest my students,” Severus said coldly.“She won’t be your student for long, mate,” said Fred, or George. “She’s turned into a right piece.” This made me laugh. I can just see Molly's face when one of the twins refers to Hermione as a "piece."Now I wonder what is really in that brown paper package that would have caused Severus to looked at her sharply and tell her that it was Potions ingredients. Surely there is more to it than that...Very nice update!!! Thank you. Beth
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Poor Molly's raised herself a bunch of rude boys
Molly is being the overprotective matriarch again!
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
She's good for that...
slow but sure wins the race. i like how you're showing themgetting to know each other. great update. thanks so much
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
It's a slow process, but they'll get there :D
Great chapter...I hope there isn't too much danger in store for them.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Thanks! There are a lot of adventures in store for these two!
I like this human side of Severus. good chapter. excellent ending line!
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
thanks!
The yawning cat door, the bathroom that looked as if it were made from growing stone. And was that 'catering by WWW'? Anyway, you've put in good touches from your own imagination. I like that.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
There was a lot more to make up back during book 4 :D
I really like this private side of Severus. The way he treats Hermione bodes well for their future. Now she needs to get away from school to grow up a little more. Good chapter.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
She is a bit clueless...
nice touch, Sev liking the cat.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
He certainly likes animals more than people!
I like Severus' interactions with Crookshanks. His comments to him are cute. He's also very respectful of Hermione. She really could have done much worse. I'm sure she'll eventually grow to realize that even more as time goes on.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
I think they'd have a decent working relationship as long as Harry and Ron are at an arms distance.
Nice to see them getting along reasonably well. It will be interesting to see what Russia holds in store for them.
Response from teshara (Author of The Marriage Law)
Thanks!
