It was only after Snape followed her into the neglected shop, moving furtively between the shafts of sunlight that pierced the gloom, that it occurred to him to wonder why, ten years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione Granger was running. And why, in a world with magic, real magic, she should be seeking the counsel of a Muggle Tarot reader.

Reviews for King of Swords
Bravo! Beautifully done and the ending is perfect.

*dances... Thank you! *beams
I have been behind Niagara Falls in Canada. The power of the water was awe inspiring. A spiritual experience.I love that Neville so readily gave up his wand to the tree, something others might not be so inclined to do.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
I imagine it being overwhelming and truly awe inspiring. Neville was a leader here in his steady, quiet way. :)
Lovely! Beginning to end, just lovely.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thank you so much. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the story.
Lovely. I'm so glad they found themselves again.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thank you! It's a relief and a triumph for them. Thanks so much for your reviews :)
I'm glad they made it to/through the cave, beacuse I was sitting over here screaming "Severus can FLY, you dolts! Are you wizards, or not? APPARATE!"
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
LOL! Well, they don't know where they're going... otherwise, yes, they could probably Apparate. And remember, Severus's (and the others') magic hasn't been working completely well for a while, even though things are much better now. :) Also, they had to go _through_. *grins Posting 22 in a few hours!
Oh! The trees will heal their wands and they will be free!Well, that's my guess, anyway. Though I am worried about Severus, even though he's feeling it all, he's not with them. And I love the description of the falls, and how they became glass when Severus revealed the web of lights. And I can't believe we're almost at the end, but spiritually, I know we must be near, because the near-impenetrable darkness with which we began this story has become (almost) triumphant light.*hugs you*
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*grins... Severus, ah, yes. Can't forget about him! We are coming close now... I'm so glad that you can *feel* the darkness ebb. Yay! Thank you for the thoughtful review. *smooches
WonderfulSo glad to see this complete. Loved it from start to finish
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*beams... Thank you! I'm delighted that you enjoyed it. *hugs
Not another cliffie! *grin* If Severus is left outside the tunnel then how will he get healed as well? It's a conundrum. Stay tuned. ^_^
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
LOL. Well... it couldn't be helped. :) But no more cliffies. The last chapter goes up tomorrow! Thanks so much for your lovely reviews.
Ooh, so exciting! I can hardly wait to find out how their healing is made to happen. Bless Neville for being zen enough with nature to lead them.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Neville is a gift in this story, I think. He trusts the natural world and its tendency towards healing itself. Thank goodness! So glad you're enjoying. I appreciate your reviews :)
Oh, my. Wow. Can't wait until tomorrow!
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*grins Soon! Thanks for reading and reviewing... *hugs
Thanks so much for this beautiful story with all its haunting imagery. I'll be sorry to see it end....but, of course, I'll be looking for more new things.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thank you so very much. I'm delighted that the imagery has moved you. Chapter 21 is up, and 22 goes up tomorrow. I hope you've enjoyed the other stories I have posted here, too! There are several more multi-chapter stories plus some one shots that you might also enjoy. :)
I LOVE the Tarot reader. And her interpretations. And the WITHERING look that Professor McGonagall shot at Ron.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Hee! She's a treat, isn't she? Oh, that WITHERING look shocked even Severus. LOL *bounces Thank you!
this has been a wonderful journey, looking forward to soon reading the last teo chapters, and later follow other stories LOL
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*beams... I'm thrilled. Thank you :) Chapter 21 is up! I do hope that you enjoy the final two chapters. I really appreciate you coming by to let me know you've been enjoying!
I swear that their setting off felt like Frodo setting off for Rivendell. ~shivers~ I absolutely adored Harry and Ron snorting when the tarot reader reprimanded Severus. It was too perfect.
And, I know all I need to know about you, young man. ~Snorts~Always with the mysterious - I laughed out loud, Author, as you came shining through your heroine. LOL!When Severus encouraged Neville - placed a hand upon his shoulder - I teared up. Such a healing between them!I am filled with excitement for them and hope, which is very best thing an Author can offer her readers.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Ooh! I hadn't considered that parallel :) Excellent. I'm so glad that you enjoyed all those little touches. There are so many layers of healing here, absolutely. And that it leaves you with excitement and hope thrills me :) *hugs
It seems fitting that they need to have some faith that they will manage again.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Oh, absolutely. Without faith and hope, we get nowhere... Thanks for reviewing!
Not two more chapters, please? Couldn't you keep on and on and on (to quote Abba). *grin* Of course, all good stories must come to an end, mustn't they. I'll see you Monday. ^_^
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*grins This story is coming to an end, but there will be others, I'm sure. See you tomorrow with the next installment. I'm very eager to hear your thoughts and reactions to it and the subsequent chapter! Thanks so much!
This has been amazing. I'm excited for the last two! Thanks :)
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thanks! I'm thrilled that you're excited :) Thanks so much for reviewing!
wonderful. thanks
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Glad you're enjoying. Chapter 20 is up and the final two chapters will go up, one each, on subsequent days :)
Thank you so much for continuing. You have the abililty to actually transport me right into the story, the walls around me fading away and all that; although it'a a little disconcerting at the end of the chapter and I'm suddenly thrown back into the RW, back into a cold desert so to speak. Since I like warmth and trust, I'm looking forward to the next stage of the adventure. Thank you.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Oh, I'm so delighted to hear that! Thanks you so, so much. Chapter 20 is up and the story will be finished in two more chapters (which are already written). Chapter 21 goes up tomorrow, and 22 on Tuesday. I'm delighted you've been enjoying the story. Thank you so much for reviewing and letting me know your responses to it. :)
The room swam with the power of the images ... and so does my mind, and has ever done, since I read the first chapter, two years ago.Ahh ... malevolence is the pathogen and trust is the remedy.
And we've come full circle, back to the Tarot Reader's shop.
~rubs hands together in gleeful anticipation~
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Ah, yes. Full circle... *grins... and Chapter 20 is up. Chapter 21 goes up tomorrow, and Chapter 22 on Tuesday, and we'll be done... *hugs
Blubbering at my desk as they swarmed her, hugging and petting and forgiving and the man she loved, at her back. And I cried straight through the rest of the chapter, because there is something sacred about the bond between Harry, Hermione, and Ron, and you showed its strength and it's beauty. I love that Severus realized he could honor their bond without losing any of Hermione's love. And the reintegration of the room? Written with the soulful poetry of someone who has seen souls regenerate.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*beams... I love the idea that the healing I see in my work can translate into prose. *happy sigh Thank you :)
He somehow managed to stop each one of the Damaged ones, to make them listen to him, and he found the way to help them recognize themselves in spite of the Darkness. Would he have had the confidence to do so had he not had the experience of a few days' worth of Hermione's love to bolster him? The scene of the Damaged ones and their encounter with the tapestry was lyrical. I completely understand Hermione's conclusion AND her terror, and my tears fell with hers as Severus reassured her of his love.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Ah, good question. His time with Hermione has already changed him, yes. I'm so glad that this moved you, my dear... *hugs
Oh, Darling - I waited for them to approach the Burrow without breathing, wanting the confrontation so badly! And you surprised me, bringing us a compassionate Molly, knowledgable and caring. I loved that Hermione's "hand" is still on Molly's clock. And there's more goodness (or conflict; can't tell, with you!) yet to come, as the other afflicted ones have arrived on the scene.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Molly is wiser than anybody knew. She's suffered too, for all that she wasn't Horcrux exposed. There is more coming. *puts on earplugs
Oh, Cedric's little brother! I have tears dripping down my face. The story is like an organism; it eats and breaths and grows and pulses with life. I am enthralled.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*hands you tissues and hugs you... It's thrilling to hear your reactions. Thrilling!
The Room needed them to witness its death before there could be a beginning of rebirth ...
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Yes! :)
