It was only after Snape followed her into the neglected shop, moving furtively between the shafts of sunlight that pierced the gloom, that it occurred to him to wonder why, ten years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione Granger was running. And why, in a world with magic, real magic, she should be seeking the counsel of a Muggle Tarot reader.

Reviews for King of Swords
Oh, my dear, you sure know how to pull on the heartstrings. There is so much in this chapter. The re-uniting of the trio, Ginny's revealing the hurt that she carried alone, Arthurs pain feeling he'd failed his daughter all those years ago. And the support of the staff for all of them but most especially for Severus. (All I have to say to this part is "well it's about time!)"
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thank you! There is a lot happening here, it's so true. It's gratifying to see them all coming together at last... and the staff's support of Severus is a bonus. :)
*Sigh* OMG, the ending of this chapter was so beautiful. And I am so glad that the others were finally willing to listen to the other three. I was afraid, they would kick them out without even giving them a chance.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
I was a bit nervous myself, to be honest. LOL. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, especially the end. :)
I still want to know what happened to their wands? Did they get new ones? I think you need to continue on.But BEAUTIFUL
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
They get new ones. Their magic is different now, and new wands will choose them. :) Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and appreciate your reviews. :)
How perfectly, painfully, terribly logical. And what a wonderful chapter!
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thank you! It's a pretty brutal setup, really. I feel for them :( So glad you're (re)reading!
Why do I feel that Severus must join them... or is his wand so unique as to contain wood from all?
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*smiles... it's hard to watch him on the other side...
Hope again a guiding light that spring eternal should we choose to rely on its illumination.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
indeed. :)
It seems they are on the right track.Trust is sucha fickle friend. It takes a lot of faith and a purity of heart to trust complerely and it can be devasting when that trust is broken.Your description of dark magiv reminds me of and abusive or alcoholic cycle.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Yes, absolutely. That's an apt comparison, my dear. It's insidious and tenacious... just like addiction.
He is the catalyst or really I think the keystone to the healing that needs to happen.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
He is important, yes... *zips lips
I have to say I was waiting for that to happen. I hope he has managed to get her to see reason.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Oh, good call! Yes, I hope he has, too... :)
Oh you leave me on tender hooks, but fortunately I can click to the next chapter.Yes, Hermione is home she is with Severus. I have no doubt that were his face on the clock as well his would say home too.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
I think you're totally right :)
I very much enjoyed the journey your characters made through this story. Your ideas were unique and fresh - thanks so much for sharing!!
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thanks so much. I'm delighted you enjoyed the story. I appreciate you taking time to review.
Oh, my. I was so nervous as they approached The Burrow. I had this awful feeling that Hermione was going to be traumatized by a verbal or physical attack from her former friends. That Molly was there waiting and was not holding a grudge but actually happy to see her was such a relief. And to think that she kept Hermione on the family clock all this time, even after what happened just brings tears to my eyes.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Molly's reaction was quite a surprise to them. But she's held on all this time...
There are ocassions when I do not think I would enjoy looking in to such a mirror. However, I think at the same time it would be a wonderful gift and learning experience to see ourselves as others see us.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
I know what you mean. Right now, the way they see themselves is particularly warped. Under normal circumstances, I'd imagine the mirrors would be kinder, as they would be kinder to themselves, too...
I love where this journey begins. Snape so sure, Hermione so unsure... And the pull of the unknown.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*bounces... Thank you :) It's all quite mysterious at this point...
the ending really has a fairy-tale feel to it as they receive their redemption in a secret cave with a magikal forest. But do they ever get their wands back, or do they just get new ones (from Ollivander)? A sweet ending to a very angsty srart.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thank you! They do get new ones from Ollivander. Their magic is different now, and now they're healed. New wands will choose their witches and wizards. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. :)
All I can say is "OH WOW!"
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*beams... Thank you!
oh yeah~the special clock...hmm...i'm very glad for hermione that mrs. w never really HATED her. and now the s%@t hits the fan!! seatbelts!!
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
She never did hate her... what a revelation. :) *buckles seatbelts
will snape get to utilize any of his foemidable skills as a potions master? odd to read a story with him as amajor character with him not brewing anything. but the story is still gripping.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
It's unusual, yes. But his magic has been erratic, and he's not been brewing lately... Glad the story is still gripping without him brewing potions... :)
yay! the room of requirement to the rescue. and snape and hermione are back where they belong.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
*beams Thank you!
cool! i've always liked the concepts of patronus & animagi forms and how they'll be crcial in healing all those affected.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Thank you! I find them fascinating, myself. I explored Patronus and Animagus forms in more depth in "Tree of Life", actually. :)
the layout sounds like pandora's box.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
Oh, interesting!
appreciating snape's family talent;)
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
He says, "thank you." :)
of course....the triggering event. not a surprise. makes perfect sense for voldy's revenge to linger long after his demise(?)
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
That's what I thought. Creation of a Horcrux *had* to have more far-reaching effects.
"you and me against the world", to quote an old pop song. snape's declaration is the essence of true romance, imho.
Response from shefa (Author of King of Swords)
It is! You're so right. :)
