Reviews for Soul Man
Darn, lady, you are cruel! What a place to stop! You still have me totally hooked, though---I have no idea what is about to happen. The only thing I'm halfway sure of, is that I think Hermione has "already" done what Snape most definitely did NOT want her to do---reveal the potion to Teach. By the way, I love your choice of that name; I live not too terribly far from the coast, and the legends of the "gentleman pirate", ruthlessly fearsome yet charming, still abound in Charleston. A most devious 'gentleman', indeed!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, perhaps she has, and perhaps she hasn't. ;-)Glad you like the choice of name, too! Thanks for reviewing.

Oohhhhh! Let me guess, Snape did transport the piece of Voldemort's soul... into himself. He made himself the Horcrux. I think I had an 'Ah ha!' moment. Now if only I could figure out what Teach wants... bringing back Voldemort perhaps?
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, Snape never actually had the access to Harry that he would have needed. So...alas, no. But good guess! Thank you so much for your review. :-D

Hehe - why not leave Snape in there, once they managed?

Can NotghostSnape get a dreaming Hermione knocked up? Yes that was the first thought into my head after reading about their hot hot hot encounter! Is NotghostSnape what happened when he took the potion w/o the extra piece of soul like Harry would have?
I really liked Snape’s journal. To be inside his head and get the unedited version is amusing.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Haha! No, Notghost!Snape cannot knock up Hermione. :) I'm so pleased that you liked Snape's journal - I wish there was room for more 'inside Snape's head' stuff in this fic. Perhaps in another one, in future. Thank you so much for the review! :-D

I think it's a good idea to have a lot of people present if she decides to go down there.

That was an odd thing to leave her. I think Kingsley was a bit easy on letting her stay in a house the aurors hadn't checked out yet.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, it would be pretty invasive for the authorities to do too much searching of what is, by the time Hermione gets it, an empty house. Also, Snape was a good guy. So why check out his house? Thanks for your review!

On the plus side, great dream sequence. On the minus side, I'm still confused waaaahhh! It's almost like Snape made horcruxes too, and the dream Snape is all his good bits that were taken out.

I'm sure there are some red herrings thrown about in this story (namely Mark) but I have been wrong in the past, am probably wrong here and will be again. From the very start I've thought that Teach is indeed very suspicious and wether or not he's actually intending to make Horcuxes (why get Hermione "sidetracked" away from them for such a long time - although everything here is probably linked anyway) he's surely planning something more or less sinister. I also love your portrayal of Draco, although I felt bad for the poor lad in the 11th chapter. I'm personally a bit confused with the nature of Horcruxes, but that's probably just me and my English playing tricks on me. In any case, I'm eager to see where this all is leading to...
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, not TOO many red herrings, but maybe some. :) I can't verify much else without ruining the suspense!Don't feel too bad for Draco - perhaps he was using Hermione, too, and it was only his pride that was offended by her 'outburst.'Thank you so much for your review - I'm so pleased that you like the story! :-D

This is just too good! I know we are coming to a real understanding. I have some ideas of what is going to happen but I suspect that whatever comes next will be something completely unexpected so I won't even speculate. I love this story! You are doing a great job - thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Thank you for your lovely review! I wish you would speculate, but I suppose since I can't really tell you if you're right, I understand why you don't. Still, I'm glad you have ideas and that you are loving the story! More to come soon. :-D

OMG that was incredible. I'll admit, I had dreams like that but I never quite got the satisfaction she seems to get. Heehee looking forward to more.!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, I guess that's because your dreams were just dreams. Still, that's pretty lucky - I hardly ever have dreams like that. :(Anyway, thank you so much for the review! I'm glad you're enjoying the story still. :-D

Is Teach trying to make Horcruxes? That's it, isn't it? He's just as evil as Voldemort, and doesn't have the necessary knowledge to do such a thing. Nor a Potions genius to help.
And, FINALLY! Professor Snape is back! I missed him as much as Hermione did. Lots to love about this chapter--Mark and his beautiful gift (Infinity rings? There's not more to THAT, is there?), the journal, the morning at Grimmauld Place (and waking to a glass of bubbly on the nightstand? Excellent idea!), and yes, hot ghost sex.
Wonderful chapter. Resisting urge to use all caps. Will save for something even better, which is coming soon, I know it!
Author's Response: Argh - the questions! You know I can't actually answer them yet, but I want to! :(
So happy that you liked the chapter - I hope you like ch. 13 as much, which is in the queue as I write. :-D
lulabelle72's response:
It's all right that you can't answer questions. Shellsnapeluver and I keep ourselves quite entertained with our ongoing theories. Seriously, we've got about fifty-seven right now.
Including... What will happen to Severus. *bites nails*
See you next chapter! Can't wait!
I love the building suspense, the increasing mystery, the growing....well, other things (smirk). I'll have to go back and read your essay about Horcruxes, and then read this entire story again. I know you're leading us to the cusp of a discovery and / or revelation, and I can't wait! You have me totally in the dark, and totally frustrated with trying to figure it out---which is ok, since you gave us that wonderful bit of "satisfaction" to allay the "frustration". Eagerly awaiting more!
(P.S.- did you get my message, via Petulant Poetess?)

That journal was inspired. I love how Mark decided to share it and it was funny that he said Severus was in a state that he could not object to Hermione seeing it.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Thanks! I really love Mark, too - he is one of my favourite characters (apart from, of course, Severus and Hermione themselves). So glad to get your review! :)

I'm a big believer in the Akashic record myself; I think humanity can be taught how and when to CONSCIOUSLY tap into this. I mean, think about it; a one year old understands the physics and the concepts behind the wheel, but it took humanity HOW long to figure it out? A three year old understands gravity to completeness, yet it took Newton how long to to convince the most learned minds of the time? A five year old understands displacement, even if only because his or her mother has screamed at him or her about getting into a too-full tub, but it was Archimedes who finally taught the ancient world. A seven year old grasps the basics of flight, but NOT EVEN 100 YEARS AGO, this was completely unthinkable. I distinctly remember being "taught" in grade school that the world is round, and thinking something along the lines of "well, duh, everybody knows THAT" only to realise some twenty years later that there are actually some people (and even in this country!) wh! o don't know it. But children's brains are open; not yet taught how to be closed and unaccepting of logic. There are things that are not quite yet understood by science. Not understood by math. But as the great Arthur C. Clarke said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"CM (who is decidedly *not* leaching off her neighbor's connection just to leave this review!)*cough*

Mmm, lovely update. I read Snape's journal entries like Hermione must have, with the sense of impending disaster looming over my head. Very sad. Very happy to read a sizzling consumation of this ghostly relationship.

Hot dream sex and more mysteries. I'm guessing Snape found a way to preserve himself? This should be interesting.

Thanks! Glad you found the dream sex hot. :)And no - Snape is dead. Poor Snape...
