Okay, I have to say... I have seen your updates here on TPP for a bit, and have thought about coming on over for a bit of a read, but just hadn't found the time. Today, whilst perusing elsewhere someone mentioned your story, and I thought, well, there's no time like the present. I find myself preferring not to read the WIPs. I like to know that a story will be finished when I begin, but I have seen you update this story often, for which I am glad... cause now I'm HOOKED! Yep. Hooked! You've set up the story brilliantly, and now I'll probably be up all night trying to catch up! Great story so far...
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
I know how that is - sometimes people abandon their stories, or go for ages without updating, and it can be really frustrating. But never fear, I like to update frequently. :) Also it's great to know that people are out there, reccing my stuff, as I am dreadfully poor at self-promotion. Thank you so much for wandering over and reading! I hope you continue to enjoy the fic as you carry on reading. :-D

You know, this is worse than dying by inches....you might give the readers a break, considering the weather, economy, politics, and all that, plus the fact of DH itself.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, see, my reasoning was this. The economy and politics, at least, are going nowhere pleasant at the moment. So by leaving my readers at a cliffie, at least I'm giving them something to look forward to. ;) Thanks for the review!

Intelligent, exciting and well-written. I just read the first 13 chapters and can't wait for what's to come. Love it!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
You read all thirteen chapters at once? Well done you! And well done me, come to think of it... ;-)Thank you so much for the wonderful review! More good stuff is coming up soon.

Wow! What an update! You are certainly a bit mean for leaving us hanging like this. I EAGERLY look forward to the next chap!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
I know, but you know how I like my cliff-hangers. Resolving them is satisfying to all. :) I will have the next chapter up soon, I promise! Thanks for the review. :-D

I found the potion you created very interesting. Things are really heating up!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Thanks! I worked for ages on that one - don't try it at home, mind. Wormwood and mescaline are both controlled substances! And thank you hugely for the thoughtful review. :-D
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
I'm familiar with wormwood, it is an ingrediant in a herbal infusion called Vinager of the four theves or V4T in our home. It's pretty potent it's anti viral, anti bacterial and anti fungal. I never get sick when mom makes it lol, now I know why!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Do you drink this infusion? 'Cause...whoo! I bet it's potent. :)
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
Yes, you can drink it (a teaspoon is a dose) wash with it and even use it for laundry (like washing bandages which we don't bother with) and yes it is potent.

I have a really bad feeling about this.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
said Luke portentously. Just then, the walls began to move, closing inward like a trash compactor. 'Look!' cried Han, pointing. Chewy roared in dismay.Okay, enough of that. I'm glad you have a bad feeling - that's the effect I've been going for! :-D Thank you so much for the review.

Most interesting. Would that be what Snape warned her against? Can't wait to read more.

Nooo, don't stop THERE! I have to know what happens next! Tell me the next chapter is in the queue, or I'll be forced to revert to biting my fingernails.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
The next chapter is, unfortunately, not in the queue, but it will be soon, I swear! Thank you so much for the review! :-D

0_o. Ooooh, evil cliffie.I'm a research junkie and was loving the discussion od ingredients and measures and interactions. I have to wonder about Hermione though. She's been warned and is still working with this Teach character. Hmmmmm.Looking forward to more.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, as they say, there are none so blind as those who will not see. They also say curiosity killed the cat. And other such stuff. Hermione's not listening - she's going to do what she wants. As would we all, for as they say, only the truly wise can learn from the mistakes of others. Etc. Thanks for your review! :-D

Hmmmm. They're assuming that a soul of someone who is dead can be brough into a living body for a little while...and afterwards that soul would just agree to leave? If I was a soul of someone who had died, I think I might just want to live again (have a living body). Still, at least Teach thought of Snape doing something with/while in his body, so on some level he expects some kind of possible trouble. I can't believe that Hermione never considers this to be what she wasn't supposed to be doing. And everyone expects Snape's soul be all docile. It's certainly true that denial isn't a river in Egypt. Keep up the good work!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Well, they're making a lot of assumptions that may or may not be correct. We'll see. :) And yes, denial is not just a river in Egypt - very appropriate! Thank you so much for reviewing. :-D

Oh! What an interesting idea. It makes me wonder if Severus didn't really die... maybe he took the potion as his body was fading so that his soul left the physical and is just now floating around...
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Good guess, but... no. Snape is dead, dead, dead. :-DThank you so much for the review!

Academics give me chills. This had to be similar to the conversation the research team that created atomic reaction and then the bomb had at one point. They never thought of the repercussions until the horses had fled from the barn. What is to keep a person from misusing the process?Hermione is not thinking straight here and Teach is manipulating her rather masterfully at this point. I hope Severus will be able to fill her in on the shortcomings of all of this.Another great update! Thank you.
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
To paraphrase the great Michael Crichton, academics are so concerned with whether or not they CAN do something that they never stop to think whether they SHOULD. Etc, etc. I loved 'Jurassic Park.' :-DYes, Hermione is getting manipulated from all sides - but that's all I'm going to say about that. Thank you so much for reviewing! :)

Aaaaahhhh!
Holy cow, this is the MOTHA of all cliffies! You dreadful woman! Where is the message that says, "The next chapter is in the queue!"
I'm gonna swear. I am. Goddamit! I was on the edge of my seat the whole chapter, but the last third? Girl, you've nearly done me in.
So Snape takes over Teach's body and says, What? "Don't trust this guy!" Okay, theories flying once more...
Author's Response: Hooray! What a lovely reaction. :-D
Thank goodness you were on the edge of your seat, 'cause I was wondering. I actually vetted this chapter with a third person (someone other than just me and my beta), who said it was sort of 'boring.' *sigh*
So - good to know I haven't lost my touch. :)
evil cliffie alert!!! and why does the name edward teach sound familiar? a pirate? anyway, thanks so much and i look forward to the next installment
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
Yes - 'Edward Teach' was one of Blackbeard's names. Supposedly. So I stole it. :) Thank you for your review - I will have the next installment up soon!

Lord, Hermione! Snape tries to warn you about Teach and doing something you shouldn't, and so you immediately go out, brew some strange concoction with Teach himself, and prepare to use it? What are you, nuts?! And the ethical ramifications just start to occur to you NOW?!?!On the other hand, if it gets Teach out of his body and Severus INTO it.... Oh, hell, drink it!
Response from julymorning (Author of Soul Man)
We-ell, I suppose we tend to ignore the ethics of a particular action if it's an action we really, really want to perform. Humans can justify anything to themselves if they really want to. :)Thanks for reviewing! :-D
