I picked up the Harry Potter fandom around the time the first movie came out and began writing fanfic early 2005 after discovering the adult online community. I identify most closely with the Slytherins and you will see my taste in writing lends me to writing about Slytherins more often than not. In addition to fanfiction, I also make fanvids on the Harry Potter fandom. I'm a Perfect Imagination acredited beta and am willing to help authors. My main 'ship interests are Snape/OC (never really got into the SS/HG pairing) and LM/any female (with HG as a new favorite). I have dabbled in RL/OC and RL/NT and am okay with those pairings. I generally shy away from slash, just not my thing. For updates on my writing, check out my Live Journal

the plot thickens!!! How did Malfoy know that Hermione would be there? And I think she should go and look what is inside the vault .

That's a good question. If you've read on, that has been answered. If not, hurry on over and see. :D

Aaah, the suspense! You, my friend, must be the master of cliffhangers. I eagerly await the next chapter!!

<eg> I really do love a nice evil cliffie. :D I love keeping folks on the edge of their seat. Glad you are enjoying it so far.

What a mystery cannot wait to see where this leads. The human bound books - ewww - I don't blame her for not wanting to keep them. I loved the last of it where she opened to door to Lucius - now how does Mr. Good Looking fit into your scheme of things.

Thank you for your comment on the books. That is just the sort of thing I imagine seeing in Dark books (I can't recall if that was mentioned in Harry's sojourn to the Restricted Section or not. And wasn't having Lucius show up just great. LOL

Interesting. I will have to see where this goes.

Thanks. I'm glad you like the little twist there at the end.

What an exciting development. Is it really Lucius, or Severus Polyjuiced???
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
That is a good question. I hope you've read on an seen the answer to that. :D

All right, I'm hoping he's still alive. The beginning's hooky. REading on!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Glad you read on despite the opening. The one thing about challenges is that you have to start out pretty confined by the challenge. I hope the rest of it unfolds enjoyably for you.

Interesting ending...looking forward to seeing what's up with Lucius. More soon please.

:D Thanks. Lucius is a fun little addition to the mystery.

Doh! Lucius? I wonder what he is up to. Something sufficiently sneaky, I suppose.
I love how this story is starting. I think you have grasped Ron's flaws well. He is not the kind of guy to ask how her day has gone, and he would definitely ask for dinner right away.
Great job!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
<EG> That was nice and sneaky, wasn't it? I'm glad you like how I'm portraying Ron. I decided the Ron who hasn't changed was the best one to use, not the fantasy Ron that obviously wooed Hermione as JKR sees it.
well, this chapter definitely leaves us with more questions than answers! how will snape communicate with hermione regarding what she is supposed to do? and is lucius part of the solution, or will he be a problem? i look forward to finding out more.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
That's a good thing in a mystery to do, isn't it? Need to add in some more clues before we start unraveling the whole thing. :D
I am particularly drawn by the theme of "something within nothing" and find myself wondering as to the implications of the remnants of the spider-eaten meal, among them - the possibility of the theme of unfinished business, or interrupted business. Also, the introduction of the Malfoy factor does speak much about the story's structure. There are going to be wheels within wheels and fires within fires if Lucius Malfoy is going to be around.Your writing style succeeds in channelling the mood of this chapter as Hermione goes through the house. She takes a step, she observes, she thinks, she stops. Next paragraph, she takes another step forward, observes again, and stops. I find it very evocative of her uncertainty as she goes through the house. I look forward to further unravelling of the plot.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Thank you for the wonderful review. You are the second person to mention the spider meal to me. As you read on, you can see if it does fit a theme. :D
And there are definitely wheels within wheels in this one. Glad you enjoyed the mood. This really was a chapter all about the mood and not as much about the movement of the plot, but I felt it necessary to help with her understanding of Severus the man over Professor Snape. :D
Thank you so much for the update! What an interesting new chapter, and what a cliffhanger you gave:-) I am sure that there is something Hermione is overlooking in her search, I don't know what, I just have a feeling that you have some cards up your sleeve yet:-) So, Lucius, my my, what can that mean. Is he there on Severus request? Is there some wards on the house who lets him know when someone has entered? Update again soon, very soon, I want to read more!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
I'm glad you lvoed the cliffie. I'm sure that you've seen some of the answers. :D I hope you find the rest of it as engaging.
Lucius! He always adds a bit of fun to any sort of equation! Can't wait for more!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
<eg> Isn't Lucius always fun to add to a story? LOL he's so wonderfully unpredictable.
Excellent chapter, and I certainly didn't expect Lucius!

. :D I thought that would be a nice little surprise to catch everyone off guard. :D
Wow, not a lot of development in this chapter, but it was amazing nonetheless. There's either got to be something more in that house that Hermione has missed, or Lucius was supposed to go there to explain some things to her. Or I could be completely off base and Hermione is in a lot of trouble, lol... Great chapter!

. I know there was quite a bit of set up, but I didn't want to rush things, kind of build the tension. Mood can be as important actual events. :D Glad you liked it.
OK, you have me wondering what is going on. Plus I have the impression that Ron is a jerk. But, to be fair, that is always my impression.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
LOL
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
, I think there is a pretty good segment of fandom who thinks that Ron is a jerk. :D Glad to have left you wondering.
Interesting beginning. I'm looking forward to seeing why he picked her.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
That is a big mystery, isn't it? You wouldn't expect him to pick her, would you?
I am, if possible, more curious than Hermione is about what she'll find at Spinner's End. Please to be posting the next part when you can!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Glad you liked the beginning. More has come and more is coming. :D Hopefully in the next few days, but we'll see how RL goes.

Aww come on! That is too short and cliffie to be left off there. Arousing curiousity and then just stopping. * pout * I look forward to seeing wether she's to raise her soul mate from the dead, or what else Snape has up his sleeve. Ta

Argh! I bet he is alive, but needs her help to brew a potion and/or clear his name. Such a cliffy.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
You'll have to read on to see why she was chosen. Glad you liked the cliffie. :D

Oh Ron... he's hopeless, isn't he? Terrific start!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
LOL He really is hopeless. I've never understood the Ron/Hermione thing. Glad you like the start.

This sounds very, very interesting, I look forward to read more. I do love stories that are "EWE":-) that way I can claim that Hermione is together with Ron due to temporary insanity, and she can dump him as soon as she get over the trauma of war:-) This sounds to be just my kind of story and I look forward to learn more about your plot. Update again soon!!!!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
LOL Temporary insanity. LOL I like that description. I hope that you like the way the rest of the story goes (it's up to chapter 4 right now). Glad you liked the start.
