I picked up the Harry Potter fandom around the time the first movie came out and began writing fanfic early 2005 after discovering the adult online community. I identify most closely with the Slytherins and you will see my taste in writing lends me to writing about Slytherins more often than not. In addition to fanfiction, I also make fanvids on the Harry Potter fandom. I'm a Perfect Imagination acredited beta and am willing to help authors. My main 'ship interests are Snape/OC (never really got into the SS/HG pairing) and LM/any female (with HG as a new favorite). I have dabbled in RL/OC and RL/NT and am okay with those pairings. I generally shy away from slash, just not my thing. For updates on my writing, check out my Live Journal
Reviews for The Letter
I wonder what she will find?
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Thanks for reviewing. :D I know you've read on, so no need to comment. I really should go through reviews more often so they don't pile up so deeply. LOL
OH MY! That was not who I guessed would be at the door. QUICK on to the next chapter!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Hehehehe! Wasn't that a wonderful surprise? I love catching people off guard.
Nice finish mystery writer!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Thank you very much,
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
. After the reveal look for a sequel. :D
LOL cute ending (Or is there more to come?)
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
That's it for right now. I do want to write a sequel to this and do have a start to it on paper. Now that the muses are back, more fic is forthcoming. Sorry to have spammed you with all the responses at once. :D
Ah, Ron....
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
He's so thick it's so hard to resist. I still want to ask JKR what she was thinking pairing Ron and Hermione and how she thought it could ever work given what we know of those two characters. I mean kids probably don't understand the complexities and will believe it, but adults know that those two are just not suited for each other.
oh my, Draco!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
ROTFL!!! I loved that moment and I just had to write it in there. It was so much fun, though I do feel sorry for Draco and bad that I did that to him.
Malfoy to the rescue, eh?
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Well, he was in the fic and I have soft spot for him. LOL Plus it throws Hermione off balance. LOL I really need to review fics before responding to their reviews.*wink*
enjoying very much
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Thanks. :D Not characters I normally write in the same fic, but I really enjoyed writing this one.
whoot, snape!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Ah, yay! The big plot point. I really had a lot of fun writing this one and unraveling everything slowly.
Interesting ~clicks on~
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
It's always interesting to read reviews when someone is reading one chapter after the others. :) As is responding to the review months later and knowing the person knows what happens. LOL
great start. :)
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Thanks. I like to leave a little mystery at the start of a story.
yay! that's how it should have ended. poop on the epilogue! thanks so much for sharing your gifts.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
LOL I'm glad that you enjoyed how it ended. I really didn't want to do an epilogue and take away from it. That's why I'm going with a completely new sequel :D
Ah interlopers abound- Malfoy, Potter and Weasley will be nothing but trouble.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
LOL I don't know that I've seen it put more succinctly than that. How very true. :)
Oh, Lucius shows up just as Hermione is in the Apothacary? A little too convenient! But, he's only being nice to her, why is she still so suspecious?Nice chapter... I especially loved Severus's letter.Good job.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
It is convenient, and that's why she is so suspicious of him. :D Heck, I don't know that I would trust him. LOL Glad you liked the letter. :)

I'm really enjoying this story. I like the way you created a dialog between Severus & Hermione by having his letters appear over time, and her speculations (and growing list of questions). I can't blame her for not telling the boys; they just don't understand the pull of research and the desire to focus in... and when you add that to their view of Snape, and that she's trying to help him recover... I'm with her! I'm looking forward to future chapters!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Thanks. I really do think that as meticulous as Severus is that this is the sort of thing he would have done. And I do agree that the boys would not be likely to understand, even if they do realize Snape was on their side. Seven years of mistrust is easy to put behind you. At least Hermione was on his side, thus her more sympathetic view.

Very interesting. Looking forward to more.

Thank you. I hope the ending did not disappoint.

Hm, it seems that Lucius is keeping tabs on her. I, too, would like to know what he is up to. And where did Severus gold come from? Loads of questions, I'm looking forward to finding out more!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Thanks. I think that I would be feeling a bit paranoid at his behavior if I were here at this point. :D I hope that many of the questions get answered. If not, there will be a sequel and hopefully they'll get answered there. :)

Loved how Lucius interceded at Donvan's-I do believe he was flirting a little with her - sneaky slytherin. I do love this story - it is a fantastic plot - cannot wait to see all of it
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
I just figured poor little innocent Gryffindor Hermione would be out of her element someplace like that. Plus it gives fun for Lucius in trying to keep her off balance. :D
Now there is a welcome sight at the door. I hope there is more of this soon. I love the description of the bookshelves.

Thanks

. I wanted to try to give more a sense of the house and the man than we got in HBP, though I do have to thank JKR for what she did give us and have it confirm what so many of us suspected about Snape and books. :D I hope that you've seen Ch 4, but I can't recall if I saw a review from you or not (That's what happens when I do them all at once *wink*)
Response from WriterMerrin (Reviewer)
Um, yeah, I read it but couldn't think of anything useful to say since it was kinda short. I'm looking forward to chapter 5, though!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Oh, no worries. :D I don't expect everyone to review every chapter if they don't want to. :D I just went through all the reviews in such a short time that I mentally lost track of whose name I had seen where. LOL I know that when I read a story not every chapter moves me to comment.

I like the set-up of your story and have almost as many questions as Hermione. Intriguing cliffie, I look forward to reading more!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
I'm so glad you have questions. That means the mystery is being done well. :D I hope some of them are being answered for you as you read along. :D

Interesting that you chose the old Victorian two up and two back industrial style for Snape’s house. I’ve always suspected a basement as well. I still can’t figure Lucius’ part in this. Why would he show up?
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
Well, I will admit that it made sense give the description from HBP of both the house and the neighborhood. It's also the sort of townhouse that I live in. LOL
As for Lucius, I think you've seen some of his part in this. :D Whether that's all of it or not... Well, you'll see. <eg>

Who was where??? O.o
OMG you can't end the chapter like that! What did he want? What did his face look like when he saw Hermione? Did he know she would be there? Does he come bearing instructions? Does he have unfriendly intentions?
Write more!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Letter)
LOL Is it wrong of me to bask in all the shock folks had over who was at the door? LOL Probably, but I love that it's elicited such a strong reaction from folks.
