Snape is on his way to meet his fellow Death Eaters, not really looking forward to torturing yet another innocent. Tonight it will be someone Snape remembers from his past.

Reviews for At All Costs
Loved this chapter...how she worked with Severus when the spell clouded his mind. The love that she showed him was so beautiful. This is a great fic and I cannot wait to see where the next chapter takes us.

Thank you soo much! I wasn't completely sure if the chapter wasn't too soppy, and I reworked it quite a few times before I finally posted it. The next, last chapter is in the queue. Thanks for reviewing!

Wow, that was beautifully written; so much emotion. Severus, ever the tragic hero. I will be looking forward to the next chapter.

Thank you, though rewriting it to my satisfaction really sucked. So I am even more glad that you liked it!
I can't believe how hard I cried after reading this chapter. OMG! He is going to be alright, isn't he? Thank goodness the spell started wear off when it did. I really need more!
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
What shall I say - I am really happy that I came up with a story that causes such intense emotional reactions. Thank you for reading it, liking it, and telling me about it!
I have a shiver running up and down my spine. Good lord you write so well. Encore, encore!

*beams* Thank you, dear! Let me know if you like the last chapter as well, please... It should be up soon!

Thank you so much for the update! I am so happy Hermione managed to help him in time, I hope that he will manage to see, when he wakes up, that he made the very best choices and than probably everybody else in the precious order would have gotten Hermoine and Sasha killed by their rash actions. I want them to collect their precious girl, and to throw a dirty look or five towards those who always jumps so eagerly when they can badmouth Severus, never learning by their mistakes. While I know that spell Severus was hit with made it easy for them to misjugde him, no one thought of checking him for injuries, even if it was obvious that he was hurt and that he in fact had returned both Hermione and Sasha safely to the Headquarter. Yes, I am still very, very mad at them, and I can hold grugdes even better than Severus:-))

, now you made me sitting on the edge of my chair, waiting for your final judgement of the last chapter (in queue). I really, really hope I won't disappoint you!
She should work with wounded big game animals--it takes the same manner and would probably be safer.

I love how you have used Sectumsempra as a mental spell as well as a physical. It is the mental aspect that is so much more dangerous and life-threatening than the physical.
Great job!

Very interesting take on the Sectumsempra spell. Hope there will be more to come. Really hope to see Harry grovel...

I cannot get enough of this story. Seriously, I'm on the edge of my seat every moment. I love all the implied backstory in the tenderness between Hermione and Severus as well as the high stakes of the action at hand. Beautifully done!

What can I say that those who have already reviewed haven't. Please stand and take a bow!

A wonderful ending, I agree with Severus, life is to short to carry a grudge.

Absolutely - and still glad you liked it and thanks for reading and reviewing.

This is utterly fascinating and extremely well written. It is, in fact, the best thing I've read in quite some time, and just what I was looking for.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! That you think it's well writen makes me blush and means even more to me as I am not a native speaker. You can't imagine how much I hope you will like the end of it!
rdholmantx's response: I was looking for something gritty and harsh where Hermione doesnt just forgive everyone for being stupid right away. I think it's a great concept. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Oh my, you sure know how to throw surprices our way, and what a surprices. While I guessed that Sasha was Severus daugther, I thougth he didn't know, that Hermione for some reason hadn't told him. I am almost desperate to know that Hermione will find him, help him and bring her family back together. He deserves to hold his precious little girl in his arms as soon as possible, knowing that he was able to save her, and that nobody but him could have done so in that situation. I am so mad at the others, time after time their misjugdement of him comes back and slap them in their faces, and still, time after time they perform the same mistakes, jugding him for not beeing social enough, friendly enough, and gryffindor enough for them to accept the dangerous role he has. And, still he does what nobody else than him can do. Argh, can you let me into your fic and let me slap some heads together??? You made me cry you know, and I bet you are going to make me cry again when the next chapter is submitted, but don't you dare not giving Severus, Hermione and Sasha their happy ending! Update soooon!!!! (and since I am only allowed to give you five stars for this chapter, in your mind, please tripple those stars, you sure deserves them!)

Wow, you gave me goose bumps all over with your review! I really didn't expect that this story would cause emotions so deep or could, in fact, made anyone cry, but I am thrilled that I mastered that task. And I hereby officially allow you to give them a few kicks, if it makes you feel better *g* Promise: I will update soon!

Okay, I was a little lost after chapter 2, but this puts things all back on track. I'm still very disappointed in the rest of the OOP, but maybe Hermione's explanation will make them think for a change instead of just reacting.

The tension was perfect for that situation but it scared me because Snape was pretty close to dying before anyone figured it out

Grissley and scary and it was well written in that context. Deatheaters - shudder. It was a terrific first chapter for that kind of event

That was the first multi-chaptered fic I'd written, and I am still quite fond of it, so many thanks for reading it and reviewing, as well. The sequel, Of fathers and their children, is a lot more light-hearted.
