Snape is on his way to meet his fellow Death Eaters, not really looking forward to torturing yet another innocent. Tonight it will be someone Snape remembers from his past.

Reviews for At All Costs
Wonderful story!
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
Thank you for reading and reviewing!
I loved the way you let Hermione's voice slowly bring Severus back from the brink. They were both pretty groggy when they fell into bed, I hope the morning finds them much better and ready to go and get Sasha, and flip everyone else the bird.
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
Glad you liked it and thanks for reading and reviewing.
Go Hermione! man I enjoyed that slap, a pity she didn't do Ron, Harry and Arthur. They would never have let Remus walk out of there, if he was half as injured as Severus.
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
And now I will check who she slapped since I simply cannot remember. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Remus , the dog.
Ok I get that there is a lot they don't know, and that there a lot that Severus is not saying. But they have eyes don't they, they can see that Severus saved Hermione and Sasha, and he is so badly wounded, he almost died waiting for hermione and Sasha to be healed, and he has been giving them the information they needed for Harry and Ron to become the big men everyone thinks they are. How could they just let him leave, as badly hurt as he is, if it were anyone else they would have made them stay. My I have raved on haven't I, I'd best get on to the next chapter.

It was an early story of mine. I probably would write it with more details and more explanation today, but I am a glad nevertheless that you liked it enough to read and review!
Wow! you had me worried there for a minute, I thought it might be an " evil Snape " story, not my cup of tea at all. Those little white broken fingers pushing the wand, nearly broke my heart , now on to the next chapter to see if they all survive.
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
I think I have not written a truly evilSnape story *ponders* Nope. And thanks for reading and reviewing!
Response from mick42 (Reviewer)
Sorry, I have not read all your work {yet}, so I didn't know that. I have been caught out by some other storys, when all of a sudden I find myself, face to face {so to speak} with an "evil Snape" so I stopped reading, that is why I love to read if you don't like it ,you just stop.
Third reading of this story and it carries itself as well now as the first read! You are a terrific writer, thank you!!I am reading all of your works again and reviewing...since i did not the first or second go-arounds!!
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
Glad you liked it despite its darkness. One of my early tries; I am glad you liked it, and left such a lovely review!

*beams* Thanks so much for letting me know the story works even for a second time around!
Response from therese (Reviewer)
I did it again! After so many H&S storys I really "enjoy" dark fictions. It comes so close to the story.BTW, I really admire your English, chivalric. My native speech is German too (Austria) and my English is far behind yours.
I understand that Hermione is pretty unbalanced in her situation, but Weasleys & co. couldn't have known the truth. When you keep secrets, sometimes you deprive people of information that they need. Of course she's upset because 1. he's her husband, 2. he just saved them, 3. she's been tortured, 4. he could be dying and they let him go. But there's no way that they could have known. He lied about the events of the night, or at least didn't remember the truth, and he and Hermione have been hiding the truth about their relationship for years. I really don't think that Hermione's friends are as much at fault as they are made out to be.

It's been a while since I wrote this story (easily to observe by the hopping POV), so I just read it again and think I know what you mean. True, they could not have known; true also that Snape didn't tell them the truth. They acted normally. but still, I think Hermione has a point. They know him for so many years! They know he's a spy, they know he spies for them, and until tonight, he has never done anything to earn their mistrust. Lupin is his friend - and then accuses him of enjoying torture. They did not ask enough questions, and they let an injured man walk out of their house, not considering once the possibility that he might talk nonsense. Because secretly, they are scared of him and mistrust him whatever he does. And that is lousy behaviour. Thanks a lot for reading and reviewing this story. It means a lot to me. And in the end, there will be another dinner, and this time, there will be smiles.

i love this story. It has everything -- fear, loathing, courage, so much courage, and forgiveness and acceptance. Well done! Now I must go and read "Sasha."Beth
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
Should have answered that one a while ago, but nevertheless - thanks for reviewing. Hope you liked Sasha!
I think it is an absolutely WONDERFUL cocept. I'd entertained the notion from chapter 1 that he was the father, and if it had not been so I may have been inspired to write one in which he was. I enjoyed reading something that skipped over Hermione and Severus getting together, and got to the meat of a REALstory. Anxiously awaiting "Sasha" which is a perfect name for Snape's daughter, as well as a prequel! You have my hat. Thanks for a refreshing read, and an insight into Sectumsempra.
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
Thank you so very much for your nice words - it was one of the first stories I have written in this fandom, and I wasn't sure if readers would like it given the fact that most stories out there are dealing with the two of them getting together. Hope you found Sasha by now; hope you liked it as well. Plus, there is a sequel: Of fathers and their children. Just in case you have nothing else to do :-)
BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant ending, it even caused a brief sniffle. Very dark fic, but with a beautiful, hopeful ending. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading, liking and reviewing. Those stories just won't stay in my head, they have to get out and posted. And each review is most treasured. Thanks!
Touching.

At least Hermione can keep a clear head, even wehn she is injured herself. it was masterful how she was finally able to get through to Sev.

I am not satisfied with the ending, but only because I wish it went on a little long. I am very much looking forward to reading Sasha. I enjoyed this one a great deal.

Thanks for shocking me with your first few words *g*
Sasha is in the caring hands of my beta, I hope to post it towards end of February. Thanks for reviewing!
Hello
I stumbled across this storie and just couldn`t stop reading. You had me worried in the brginning ;) but I was rewarded in the end. I just wanted to thank you for this beautifull storie and tell you that I loved reading it. (sorry for my poor english, but I left school 15 years ago )
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
Thanks a lot for reviewing - and don't worry, I struglle with my English whenever I sit in front of the computer. Without my betas and the help from the TPP admins I would be utterly lost!
oooh I loved this story! seriously, it left me wishing it was longer. The only thing that confuses me is that I would of expected that it would of bee harder for Sev to dump the death eaters than just stop attending thier meetings. Thats just me thoguh. Still a terrific ficlet ;))
Response from chivalric (Author of At All Costs)
Thanks a lot! And in my version, those were more or less the last Death Eaters - so no more meetings. They certainly have trouble to find new blood *g*
