Reviews for A Fresh Start
While kind eyes and shy smile have their merrits, I'd take Severus Snape any day. He doesn't have to be conspicuously kind, just not purposfully mean for no good reason. I don't mind his vitrol when witty and well aimed at the appropriate target. The scars are medals of honor. I don't care if he's white, so is the statue of David. He only needs to be considerate when it matters, though good manners at all times are a different thing and worth adopting. His manly man's face is sexy as hell. I love his scowel. He is powerful, and he is brillient. Being fan of SS literature, we also have the advantage of knowing that he is courageous, honorable, loyal, clever and has an above average level of self control to balance the above level of power. I love intelligent, powerful and clever. Severus Snape is the personification of sex on a stick, in my opinion. Someone kind and younger can have Neville.
Someone should break Creevy's camera. I've always hated the bottom feeders. Poor Severus.
Neville and Ron? That should stop the girls in their tracks and solve Ron's problem and Niville's, not to mention all the other boys who can't get anyone to look at them twice because of the Neville craze. I do hope Severus finds Hermione soon.
I'm a little surprised and disapointed at the staff members who have a certain amount of animosity toward Severus. While they now know he was a spy, do they know how much he suffered at the hands of Voldemort and Albus Dumbledore? I also expected Harry to respond a little bit better to Severus as well. He is the boy who broke the elder wand. That showed a lot of maturity. In his defense Snape did approach him in a negative way. Though I would think he would know by now that's just his temperment and it isn't personal anymore. Is this the first time they've seen each other since the end of the war?
This story was such a pleasure to read. Thanks so much for sharing!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for a lovely story! I think this is one of the extremely rare story where Hermione`s knitting were brought into play, and the first to be used to knit something for her loved ones. That was a very brilliant and sweet idea, it`s a wonder it has not been used more often before. Thank you for sharing this with us.

You are very welcome! I'm happy that you enjoyed my story!
I can honestly say that I am reading this story for Neville.... you go, boy! For once, I am very glad that Neville got the attention and adulation he deserves, although by way of something which is not Nevile-Neville, and superficial; Neville is a truly great person. ;)Frankly, Neville can look like Trevor and I would still want him for myself. The boy-man is simply gold. And LOL at both Hermione and Severus.... Thank you for sharing this relaxing story with us.

Wow! I seem to have stumbled over the Neville Fan Club! I'm glad you like my version of him - I really think he's one of the underrated heroes of the series.
How sweet is this story? I don't think I need to eat any more sugar for a week. I loved it, quite entertaining and it made me giggle often. Thank you.

YAY! For one of the best fics I've ever read! You know, transformed!Snape is not my fave, but you made it just perfectly and changed my perception!! So a huge THANK YOU for that! And a very Happy Merry Snape-Christmas!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! And, only two years late, Merry Christmas to you, too!
totally amused at the last line. though i thought a package or something was posoned or somethin with the way snape reacted. i didnt u ite like how he came down so frantically to the burrow on xmas and then just took her ou t like so. liked how molly and arthur blocked the rest but still it was too rushed especially the proposal bit. though i like how ginny commented on the skills of the jumper.

Thank you for reading and commenting!
first i think that you should put neveille in the list of characters as the story revolves around him. i know the thing that got me interested in this fic was seeing he was in the description of the story. its not like you are limited in the number of characters in the story and those doing a search hoping to have neveille as a character..well you get the point. i am also glad that when peotry was first brought up that both of them werent interested in it. i liked how it was just snape and i had no problem with hermione being more exposed to it taking a liking to it. i also like how some of the weasleys figured ron to be gay. i esp like dthat one of them was arthur. i was iffy at snape lying down next to her and pulling her close but the fact that he pushed her away right after then made it more believable.

Thank you for your comments! It is always good to know what chimes with a reader.
i still cant see snape in red. it doesnt seem like a good color given his pallor. i like the point he brought up about reputation of her borrowing the picture.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of A Fresh Start)
Well, either it depends on the shade of red, or I simply have no taste! Either way, thanks for commenting.
i wonder who will first get to say/hear that hermione likes snape. i liked the three legged race bit and how he encourged the students to lead the blindfolded two into the lake. though i would think that a number of the students/staff would find that snape has humour concidering the lines/looks he has delievered in the past being witty.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of A Fresh Start)
Yes! Snape IS witty - it's there in all the books.
i like the bit about the girls commenting on his hands and arms ending it with an eww. and herminoe is right- they have begun thinknig of him that way but just not fully there yet. glad snape shot down the smile idea- i totally agree with him there. liked the potion mistake incident.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of A Fresh Start)
Thank you!
i like how she put in so many breaks between sets. though i totally agree with him on the color issue.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of A Fresh Start)
Thank you!
okay i can understand some things about the dynamic of snape and hermione. they have been both released from the war in which they had major parts in. they both never fully fit in before. they both are trying to start afresh. hermione saved snape's life. and while yes they talked comfortablably about having a fresh start- i feel as if snape inviting hermione into his home to assess him here is a bit farfetched at the moment. though im glad for the comments of feelnig that it is inapproprate and that they will start off slow otherwise it would be obvious.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of A Fresh Start)
Thank you for commenting - it is always interesting reading your point of view!
oh and i thought that it was sirius who refered to her as the brighest witch of the age.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of A Fresh Start)
I blithely choose to believe that the phrase became common currency ...
