Reviews for The Love You Take
Hah. So much for him trying to turn her away from him - doesn't seem like he'd really want it to happen once there is any real danger of that!
I understand him to a point - in his situation, getting too involved, emotionally, is a real problem - but it's already happened. And hurting Hermione is not going to solve his problems.
Things are going just too damn wonderfully for them to continue, aren't they? It was so sweet while it lasted. Poor Severus and Hermione. The next chapter can't possibly be this good. It just never happens. O for the sweetness we are about to have snatched from with in our tender breasts. I hope I am totally and completely wrong. I hope the sweetness continues in perpetuity. The wonderful thing about short term memory loss is I have no idea right now what is going to happen next, exactly. I dive into the next chapter now, my wand at the ready for the bogart that I fear that is lerking after the mouse's click.
So John, not knowing about the curse, thinks Hermione is playing with Severus? Now that he's left his post across from the door, is he no longer worried about Severus' safety? Is it possible to be a pure blood family that follow the old ways, including some things that others might consider dark magic even when used with good intentions and not follow Voldemort? Are some of these people just playing along because they are afraid of him? I suppose anyone at Dumstrang would have to at least pretend to support He Who Must Not Be Named. They must have to worry about offending any Death Eaters in their midsts. What must Severus' family think of him if they believe Morgan is a good match? Do they think him to be petty and evil because he is a Death Eater? Obviously they can't know he is a spy. What a bummer for Severus for his family to think he is truly a cruel and heartless man. I suppose those who think that the world should be "cleansed" of muggle borns would have a subjective view of honor.
Beautiful, beautiful. Definitely one of your best endings.
All I shall say, crudely, is: DAY-UM.
I dont want to hurt you, I want to slap Snape. I hope Hg has figured out what is going on.
OOH such a romantic valentimes day. SS really is a closet romantic- it is a slytherin thing to do. Hg has a way to a man's heart, telling him those endearing things. The earlier pats, the confontation with Ron and Harry, was particularly scary.
John imakes sense. Not so evil cliffy as I hit the next button. :D Interestinghow they all know HG is muggleborn.
I realize that Grandmother Prince respects the old ways, but is it possible that she had not thought about the possible repercussions of having Hermione don the nexus? She is very perceptive. She surely knows about the aura change. Being very observant, she must see John's interest in Hermione. Does she know that John is proficient in the arts needed to see Hermione's aura? Even if she approved of a match between Hermione and John, she knows that Hermione is imprinted on Severus until The Dark Lord's demise. I am uncertain as to what grandmother's motives for telling Hermione to wear the nexus could be. I do believe they were not spiteful at all. Did grandmother underestimate Morgan's spitefulness? Surely Grandmother knows that the adult members of the family would be able to know that Hermione's aura had changed. It doesn't seem that Severus understands her motives. Did Grandmother not think about what would happen if word got back to The Dark Lord that his plans to humiliate Dumbledore had been foiled and that Severus had withheld that information from him? Is Grandmother unaware of Morgan's devotion to Voldemort and Morgans vindictive nature? I really would like to know the answers regarding what Grandmother Prince was thinking and not thinking when she told Hermione to wear the nexus.
I truly enjoy this Severus Snape, who though having suffered so much and having been greatly damaged by what he has suffered, still possesses that little voice that is able to be completely honest with him in those moments of reflection as he wrestles with his feelings for Hermione and over her comment regarding wanting him without the curse, after he had dealt with the symptoms of the curse in the store room. I also really admire and like Hermione for the way she handled the angry Severus in the Forest. She was honest without being mean even though he was behaving quite pettily. She was also incredibly brave to offer up her thoughts for him in that state. It would be hard not to flinch from such an angry and unreasonable Severus Snape. Once she had made her point, she let it go. I do like that Hermione isn't someone to hold a grudge. She is a very forgiving young woman. I suppose these are just some of the remarkable qualities that make these characters so fun to play with. They both possess distinguishing characteristics that make them impressive, compelling and enjoyable beyond simply their abilities to perform magic.
I'm reading this the second time through. During the holidays I was without access to a computer and this story for 5 entire days. It was horrible! I was completely distracted as I tried to make my way though Cleopatra by H. Rider Haggard, an author I also love. I am besotted and infatuated with your compassionate and honorable Severus Snape, whom faithfully maintains his Snapishness by disappearing her under clothes. Throughout the story you do an extremely pleasing job of maintaining Severus' and Hermione's behaviors and responses with exquisite faithfulness to character as you have created them and with complete integrity to the original version. This allows the reader to feel increasingly greater sympathy and affection for the couple as we pass through this ordeal together with them. Bravo!
If you have never read H. Rider Haggard I highly recommend starting with SHE.
Ooo, finally the whole story. Quite a thought-provoking plot, after all, and I love Hermione's reaction at the end.
I saw this story referenced in the "Timestamp Meme" and realized that I've never read it. I'm not a big fan of the genre, but I've been compelled by each chapter, not stopping to review until this one. After loving so many of your stories, I've come to anticipate the moment in each one where he bestows upon her a name such as 'pet' or 'petal,' and this story is quite true to form. Lovely as everything you've written.
-Eagerly cheering on your writing, M
Great!
I like it. Please update soon.
Wow. Just when I thought the stakes and players couldn't get higher, you upped the ante and the story, already smuttily great, gets even hotter. Happy New Year!! Waiting anxiously for more. . .
that's one hell of an interesting chapter!!! XD
The honeymoon is over. Severus Snape is HG's toy.

I'm so tickled that you're reading this, Drox! He definitely ends up being used by people in his life, but he is a rather unpredictable and frequently unpleasant toy, I must say! Thanks so much for the comments!
Temptation wins! Yay for us.
He has a point about Hagrid, but I wonder if curse is effecting him as well. Hehe, or its just lust.
He should know she's programmed to please. It's amusign when he tries to punish her that it doesnt work. Also amusing is his failing potion. He is a man he will succumb. hehe
SS is sort of in scientific mode...how many chapters will take before he nails her properly. ;D Good thing I got more to read!
And so it starts. SS is being rather nice here but maybe because its resignation.
Plausible explaination for the smutfest to come... hehe
A late Christmas presant and early New years preasant all in one. How very thoughtful of you. I had a very good laugh about the house after reading that bit with McMonagle bating Snap. What a nice thing to happen to someone that is allways to be on there toes. Such another self imposed problem also. Well cant wait to see what comes next. Until then. Thanks . Bill
