Reviews for The Love You Take
I simply loved the first line, "Severus sat upon his sofa with his fair torment upon his knees". I tried hard not to say 'awwwwww', but I simply couldn't help myself! He let her see his memories in a Pensieve. Apparently, he trusts her waaaaaaaay more than he shows. And I was squeeing like the fangirl that I am when I noticed the sheer SIZE of this chapter. Thank you so much!
Gwah, that is SO Severus! Feeding Hermione only little crumbs of information and then getting all tightarsed about it, when she goofs up. Makes you want to smack him. Right before you ravhish him cuz he's so sexy.....the berk!I love it!!! Thank you for sharing.
hello hello, my dearest, darling, beloved author. i thought i should stop by and tell you how much i adore your work. this piece especially is a joy to read! however, i do have a quaint little fetish for anything you write. i will boldly say that you are my favorite fanfiction author. whenever i have need for a fic to lift my spirits, i know that i can count on you. i wonder if you have plans of updating this one soon? i feel obligated to let you know, on behalf of all readers, that your efforts are very appreciated. thanks,sue.p.s.in reading your fics, i have become inordinately fond of 'subhub'. say hello to him for me, will you?
Ugh. Poor young Severus! but he didn't lose much since that bitch Morgen married that creature who reminds me of a male Umbridge (maybe they're related?). *bah*. No accounting for taste.
Hopefully that's the end of that issue between Herms & Sev. If she doesn't get it now she never will.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
A male Umbridge! How perfect! That's brilliant, my dear! I definitely think Hermione understands about Morgen now, but that doesn't mean Morgen will stop trying to get what she wants. Thank you for the note!
Oh! Another beautfiul chapter! I really cannot think of anything else to say, so. . . good luck on your stories and future chapters! I guess that's all. . .

Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Hi, Katie! Thanks so much for leaving a note for me. Even when you don't have anything to say that you think is special, the author always loves to hear from you! I'm glad you like this story.
awww. I loved this. lol. I always thought that Bellatrix and Voldemort had something going on. *smirks*
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Oh, definitely something with Bella & Voldemort, I agree. Back in Chapter 11 of this story there's another squicky sex scene of sorts with those two. Thanks for the note!
Well then he doesn't have to put up with Morgen if she married the old man. Even if the old man died that shouldn't mean Severus stills have to married the harpy. Let her find some other Death Eater to snare. I'm so glad you updated. I've been looking forward to reading more of this story.Tamara arabella bloodgood
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Thanks for the note, Tamara! You're right; why should Morgen expect Severus to pick up where they left off when she jilted him and married another wizard?
This is one of my favourite stories, and this new chapter is as good as all the others.update soon please, i'm very bad at waiting when I get caught in a story.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
It is a great compliment to an author when you want more very badly -- thank you. I'm glad it's one of your favourite stories!
I'm curious as to why Morgen isn't married now... I thought she had anticipated sleeping with Sev over Christmas... or is she just a floosy? :)
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Her husband has died, so she is a widow. She may very well be the type of witch who has more than one lover, but I don't know if I would characterize her as a floozy! Thanks so much for the note,

!
lovely, lovely update. you write well and quite hotly! thanks so much.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Thanks! I'm glad you think it's hot ;)
well, thanks for another fantastic chapter! i can't tell you everything i loved, since i pretty much loved everything, but here are a couple of specifics. i loved how you handled the unexpected confession of love, particularly that moment where just the vision of his hand tremor let her know that he wasn't as unaffected as he was trying to be, so she was able to be okay with it. and then with all the exposition regarding morgen, how severus didn't really understand why hermione reacted so intensely, but appreciated it nonetheless. of course, knowing the backstory one just dislikes morgen even more. but at least we - and hermione! - know for sure now that she's no threat, the self-centered b*tch. (oops. that just slipped out.)
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I'm so glad you liked how he responded to her blurted lurve confession! I specifically asked SubHub about that, and about how he would react to Morgen when she finally showed him some attention. He really helps me keep Severus authentic.
No, he really doesn't have a clue why Hermione is so upset about things that don't concern her. The idea that someone might be as protective of him as he is of others is beyond him.
Don't mind me-you can call Morgen all the names you want!
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
thanks to SubHub for helping you work your magic; in my opinion your severus is always note perfect.
Ouch! Severus certainly had it rough. I suspect he was more hurt than what he let on.
Ah! This explains a few things.
I really dislike Morgan. A lot. What a foolish teenage child!
Excellent chapter. So much information to digest but I now have a clearer understanding of your Severus and his insecurities when it comes to "love" and women in general. Glad to see Hermione getting her goat up and becoming angry over the injustice that Severus suffered at the hands of Morgan, the old guy and Riddle.
Eagerly awaiting more.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
It *is* a lot to digest all at once, but I'm glad you feel you have a better handle of Severus, now. That's a very nice compliment to give.
He is so puzzled over her reaction ... it gives me hope for him!
Thank you for another wonderful chapter. I loved the backstory. I am also happy that the confession of love did not get out of hand. I am looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
...and things *do* have a way of getting out of control with Subversa at the wheel, LOL! Thank you; I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
how cool i love the way you brought his past to life i thougth it be a boring chapter reliving his memories btu it was awsome now that means morgain is married still rightso what is she chasing serveusi am a little confusedbut i loved the chapter thank you
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Remember, in the memory where Severus and Hermione were at his uncle's wedding, where he first met Morgen, he told her that the old guy was a big financial backer for Voldemort. Hermione asked, Is he still? and Severus said, NO, he's dead. So, Morgen is a Merry Widow, so to speak.
I'm glad you braved it out even though you thought it might be boring, and even more glad that you feel that it brought the past to life. Thanks!
Well that explains a lot about his past with Morgen. Interesting. It seem though he is angry with Morgen for throwing him over, but she must have bee forced to marying that old guy. But, then again, she only was interested in him in the first place because he was a Death Eater.
Yeah, I got the Lily connection a long time ago, so sad. This was a very well wriiten chapter. Yet again, I can't wait for more!

Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Hi, Livvy~ He does feel betrayed by Morgen; no doubt about it. I do think there was an element of coercion in her marriage to Leclercq, but he is also "the richest wizard in Europe", and Severus is virtually penniless - so that might have had something to do with it, as well.
Thanks so much for reviewing!
As always a wonderful chapter and worth the wait (though I'd prefer not to wait as long for the next chapter).
MORE!!

Nice to see this story updated. I really liked the backstory to Snape and Morgan's relationship. Very well done. Thank you.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I'm pleased to know you enjoyed it. Thanks for the note.
I am so happy over the way the two of them handled the blurting situation. The last thing they need is another misunderstanding. As painful as the whole experience was for Severus, I think it was a good thing Hermione saw some of his past and how he came to be the emotional wreck he currently is. At least she now knows what to work on instead of being left completely in the dark. The thing I like about your Voldemort is how he controls people by manipulation and bribery, not pain and pure evil. he must have had some lure to him for all those people to join his Death Eaters in the first place.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I'm so glad you like the way they handled her little faux pas; after all their tribulations and their promise to one another not to shut each other out, they had to find some other way to deal with it all. You're right; Hermione now has some concrete information with which to work in her dealings with Severus. His youth is no longer a mystery to her. I think Lord voldemort acts on the premise that a reasonable man has his price ;)
I like your story, and I agree you let us wait for too long for this chapter, but it has been worth it. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I feel sorry for Morgan. Nothing in your chapter indicates she wanted to marry the old man. Therefore, who says her life was not destroyed equally badly as Severus' had been. Which, I think, explains why she wants him back. I like your take on LV. I'm sick of Cruciatus approach to evil. If it was that simple...
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I know it was a long wait -- other than the 2 month break I took to write the SSHG Exchange story, this is the longest y'all have had to wait for a chapter on The Love You Take! You may be assured that I worked on it that entire time, and could not rest until I had it posted. I can understand you feeling sorry for Morgen. I agree; it must be creepy to be married to a grotesque old man when you've been promised to a hawt young one! I think she has what she feels are *good* reasons for wanting him back! Thanks for the compliment on the LV-take--I can seem him ruling as much through humiliation and avarice as through cruelty!
That explains a lot. Well, except for why Morgen still wants him. Unless it's the thrill of chasing the one that got away.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
She has another reason, in addition, which we will learn in the next chapter or two, but that is certainly part of it: Morgen Singer Leclercq is not used to hearing "no".
That was again a very interesting chapter. It's Hermione who wanted to know about Morgen, but in giving her the memories, Severus also answers implicitly her confession, by showing her what "love" meant in his milieu and how his previous experiences justified his wariness.
I love how the balance of power subtly alternates between them, and the partner who seemed the most vulnerable - Hermione - seems at the end of the chapter to be the strongest, precisely because she isn't afraid of her feelings, and because she has seen his vulnerability.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
May I kiss your feet? What a comprehensive review - and I don't mean just in that you covered the whole chapter, but also in that you GOT what was happening. That makes me happy enough to dance!*lurves*
Thanks for the background! It's appreciated both by Hermione and your loyal readers (well, by this one anyway!) - helps to know just what the whole deal with Morgen was.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I'm such a sucker for background story on Severus Snape. I always want to know, "How did he get to this place?" I'm glad you appreciated the extra information. I always get so confused by your TPP name and your LJ name :( Ack!
Response from Mint Stick (Reviewer)
I get confused too, so that's okay. ;-) I have no idea why I signed up at all the archives under a different name but I think it was when I had no expectations of becoming active in any way in this fandom. Ack, silly me.
I definitely agree about background story - it's always so fascinating to try and figure it out! Why he did what he did, what made him become the man he became - so many possibilities.
