Reviews for The Love You Take
What intentions, indeed! Great chapter. The start was a little (read: really) squicky, but it was very fitting of Voldy. Nicely written,
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Sorry for the squick, doll, and thanks for sticking it out. Thanks for the support for this story.
Gaaaaah!! I keep trying to avoid reading updates so I can read the story in its entirity when it's finished... but I can't! The pull it has over me is too great! Woe is me, when I end a chapter and am feeling like the effects of Hermione's curse is inflicted on me. Need. More. Now. ...
...Please?
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Awww, honey, I'm sorry the chapters leave you woeful for more. I will have to see what I can do about that ...

It looks like Severus, in his Slytherin way, has declared his family that he plans to eventually wed Hermione. That could be the reason he gave her the Nexus in the first place. It would also explain why his grandmother gave Hermione the chain to go with the Nexus. It would make it more understandable of a reason as to why Morgen went to Voldemort with the information that Severus is with Hermione. Hermione definitely needed John to point this out to her, since he's the only one who seems to like her.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Oooh! I can't answer your conjectures, my dear, but it is a pleasure to read them. I hope all of your concerns will be addressed and your questions answered as the story continues to unfold. thanks so much for the note!
excellent!!!! i need more now..
will tell hubby about your wonderful story when it is complete.
i think he will like it. now its just a matter of getting him to give a review....
mmmm that makes me wonder... those big time authors besides newpaper reviews what do they think of their readers reviews.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I wonder about that too, Patty. Do they read their fan mail? I imagine they would, in the beginning, when it's all new. Later on, they might only care what the "critics" think. I'm glad you like this rabid plot bunny!
Response from pickles (Reviewer)
Is it time for more???
well, if Hermione doesn't want John Prince, I'll take him! (erm... and if I were 30 years younger...) I hope Severus knows his cousin John is on his side. Can you muster up some nasty fate for Morgen? Serve her up as Nagini-food? So deserving! And yes, that was squicky with Voldy and Bella and Nagini; not my idea of a threesome. But very in-character for Voldy to have used such a curse on teen Bella. Thanks for the new chapter!!!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Isn't John a love? One of those people who rise above their origins, in a way. I think Severus discounts any perceived affection from his cousins, believing that if they *really* knew him ... Morgen is a nasty piece of work - perhaps Voldie *could* feed her to Nagini - do you want to suggest it to him?(not me! he might feed *me* to her, just for fun!)
*applauds* More to the Nexus, it would seem! And ooh, Voldy is such a badass. Tres dark. Loved it!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
*bows* thank you, thank you!I don't do "dark" very often, so I'm glad you liked the darkness. Voldy is just plain bad. Erk!
Please!!! Such a cliffie... Not as bad as it could been, but now I will be thinking about this for the next few days until you update!!! I had to reread the whole section with John to see if I could get any clues... UPDATE SOON!!!! Great Chapter!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I'm so ashamed! Nah, not really. Call me Subversa "Evil Cliffie" Snape. Thanks for the note, Sherri - so glad you're enjoying the story!
Holy cow. For the first time in my life, I feel sorry for Bellatrix. I almost feel sorry for Morgen, too, but unlike Bellatrix, she has no excuse for being such a horrible person.
Um ... yeah. What intentions? It looks like Severus has well and truly fallen. Or has he?
"Shut up and fuck me." Yowza.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Forgive me for making you feel sorry for Bella? I can't find it in me to feel sorry for Morgen, though, because she is such a selfish bitch.
Whoo! Intentions! Does he actually have them - or is his cousin John reading more into it than is actually there?
As for the quote ...
Response from Keladry Lupin (Reviewer)
Intentions ... that's the real question. I have my theories, and I've already speculated somewhat (bad me!), but I shall stop there.

I'm not putting the big picture together either, I'm afraid, and I don't have the bene--**ahem**--disadvantage of Severus satisfying the curse to excuse me.
And if Bella went mad while Voldemort was supposedly "dead", does that mean Hermione will be under it even if he dies? Because we know he'll never purposely lift it.
Oh, please update soon!
Author's Response:
Voldemort wasn't dead, so the curse remained in effect on Bellatrix. Only the death of the caster will lift the curse.
THank you for the enthusiasm?
What intentions indeed? Hurray for Hermione having made that migraine relief potion and cream! And three cheers for John for keeping Auntie Singer from flinging unfair hexes. The scene with Voldemort, Bellatrix, and Nagini was suitably stomach-turning. Ick. Still, I love this story immensely.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
The migraine cure really came in handy, didn't it? I was very pleased that John told her it was bad form, even for Death Eaters. I'm sorry for the squick - I'm glad you stuck it out! I'm so glad to know you like it!
Where do "vanished" clothes go? Into that huge storage room the Room of Requirement sometimes is? Or do they join all of those single socks that sneak out of the dryer in some vast clothing pile in the sky? And can they ever be "unvanished?" These questions are becoming more important as Hermione's wardrobe shrinks down to a pair of sweats and last year's bathing suit.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
It is my opinion that Vanished clothes cease to exist - but the Room or Rquirement idea is fun ... could make a funny one-shot!
This story is so good, it's killing me....

*passes oxygen mask and cookies*
Breathe deeply, eat cookies, and re-read the chapter.
That'll fix everything!
Excellent view into the innerworkings of the Prince family. Morgen is an enormous B! She's not going to win any brownie points pulling stunts like that. I think Hermione is the one who is a little bit blinded in this chapter; of course, it is more likely (at least in part) due to her ignorance of pure-blood customs. Great update! Cheers!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Hi, Lyndie! The Princes are a dysfunctional lot, aren't they? Morgen *is* a B - and selfish and foolish, to boot. Hermione is definitely not seeing the big picture, but I think we have to give her a pass on this one: her thinking hasn't been properly clear since this curse was cast on her. You are correct that some of her ignorance stems from unfamiliarity with pure-blood customs, but another part of it come from flat-out denial! Thanks so much for the note.
Just the slightest touch of squickiness.I truly adore this story.

Thanks,
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
. I'm glad it didn't send you running for the hills in a state of squick!
Do you have the story all planned out? Can you tell me how many chapters it will be? I absolutely love this story and have sent the link to several of my family members and friends. Keep those chapters coming! Good job!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Well,
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
, it was outlined at 12 chapter, but December took 3 chapters instead of 1, so let's call it 15. I am flattered that you have shared my story with your friends and family. Thanks so much!
Excellent chapter, loved Hermione telling Morgen to back off, poor Severus in pain again.....................and love it would seem. Can't wait for more.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I liked Hermione barging in and telling Morgen to get out of her way, too. Thanks! More to come soon!
I trust that what happened is not going to endear Morgen to Severus. Besides, he seems to have grown rather fond of Hermione, even if he was initially forced to it.
Excellent chapter, anyway. A bit squicky in the middle, yes, but a good way to show yet another aspect of Voldemort's inhumanity - and a good way to explain Bella's madness, too! Not to mention a rather scary reminder of what could happen to Hermione if she were denied Severus's company for an extended period.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I admit, I find it difficult to imagine a scenario wherein Severus forgives Morgen for her interference. He definitely appreciates Hermione's company far more than Morgen's, even when the latter is not "telling" on him.
Sorry for the squick, but glad you got the point of it. Thanks for the note and the support!
Great, scary chapter. As this story progresses I've been thinking more and more about the "what-if's" behind the curse, and the example of Bellatrix is powerful (and horrifying). Interesting that the bond between Severus and Hermione overrides the Dark Lord's efforts, though -- hope that means something for the future!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
It's a horrible curse,
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
. For instance, if Severus were to die, that would not break the curse, since only the caster can lift it. I imagine that Bellatrix was the kind of kid who liked to pull the wings off of flies, but it's awful for her to be dependent upon the whims of a monster.
I think it's helpful that Severus has realised that impotency is not his response to Hermione, no matter what the provocation is!
Thanks for the thoughtful review!
holly crap.guhhhhthat was amazing dear you have quite the talent for writing severus. i absoutley love him (well who wouldnt) keep up the amazing work and give yourself a pat on the back cause you deserve it hun!
Oh I love this story soooo much. I'm afraid that Severus would not express his affections to Hermione because he doesn't know if she's just addled by the curse or truly fond of him. Although you do a great job of working in those post-compulsion moments.. I guess there's no way this curse will be lifted? Maybe after Voldie kicks it, eh? I'm hooked on this story, please keep posting!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I think you're right; at this point, it would be very hard for Severus to believe that Hermione cares for him apart from the curse. The curse can only be lifted by the death of the caster! More to come soon!
Of course, the Nexus is not there for ornamentation now, is it? Hermione is a bit thick in putting things together. I believe she needs a few compulsion- and Prince-free moments to figure out the ramiphications.
Thanks for writing more rather than answering us. I, personally, very much appreciate it.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Thank you for reading so thoughtfully, Nata. I would have to agree that the compulsion rattles her brain rather badly.
you're a terrible tease... giving me a little bit each time to appease me, then I have to wait! *pout* Ah, well, it could be worse; you could forget about updating altogether! Can't wait for more!Mar

! You lot are insatiable! More to come, my dear. Thanks for the note!
definately interesting, if squickiy in places. I will be here to read the next chapter..
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Thanks Maeve - you're a brave girl! More to come.
Just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying this little tale of yours. Even the magic is convincing, which is something not all authors can pull off.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
Thank you for taking the time to tell me so, Karen. I am flattered by your compliment regarding the magic, as well.
oooooh! Another excellent chapter. Yes, there was the squick, but it worked wonderfully to paint the awfulness of what was going on.
The end of this chapter is definitely an evil cliffhanger!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Love You Take)
I'm happy to know you agree the squick was necessary to tell the whole story. Y'all are brave girls and I appreciate your willingness to "go there" with me.
Ha-ha-ha! (evil laugh) I am famous for my evil cliffies!
