Seventh-year student Hermione Granger decides to marry the one eligible wizard who did not ask for her--the horrid but powerful Severus Snape. All is not sweetness and light. Be careful what you ask for. Or, as has been said by many a wise witch, "Marry in haste; repent in leisure." MLC

BEST AUTHOR, Moste Potente Potions
http://community.livejournal.com/sshg_awards/33422.html
Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.
Reviews for Care of Magical Creatures
Ahah. The NEWTs passage and the "My mind was on other things" made me crack with laughers.
This all still makes me scream, no matter how many times I read it. Hoist by her own petard, and all around her--save one--are flattened by her audacity. Yet with that kiss, they are both doomed forever. And of course I use the word "doomed" in the nicest way possible.
I am so glad you have now turned that prodigious talent to writing original fiction. I doubt you could ever top this in the SSHG world (the highest praise I can give you!), and the world at large needs to join me in Mia Worship.
(Speaking of which, I must get back to my own paltry efforts. Don't know what possessed me to come and take this up again today, but I may also be doomed!)
I'm back AGAIN and once more delighted, thrilled, amused, charmed, entertained, and shrieking out loud at the perfection with which you have captured them both--from her stubborn insistence on going ahead with laying out the plan that looked SO good on paper (but is proving remarkably difficult to articulate--not that that's stopping her, of course!) to his calm, disdainful willingness to listen to it and then to fling back at her every single part of it, clearly pointing out (in his best Elizabeth Bennett style) why each one is both offensive and objectionable, and why he couldn't possibly, for even one minute, consider her proposal.Except the door is still locked....I'm going to take my time this time (if I can manage to restrain myself!), but it won't be easy. DAMN you are a brilliant writer!!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
ZOMG!You are killing me!~adores~
Bloody brilliant, beginning to end. At times I laughed, and many more times I actually cried, and sometimes, when you were in Hermione's head, I thought to myself, "I know exactly how she feels..."
Well done.
Where to start reviewing this? At the start I suppose. I really enjoyed the idea that Hermione's parents aren't quite who she's lead everyone to believe.
Loved the idea that Voldemort controlled his followers the way you described it, and found it terribly convincing that pleasure/ lust could be worse than pain.
The ending that wasn't quite an ending but another beginning was nice too- I may be in agreement with Severus about the name of Gussie, but it's a little adorable at the same time.
Anyway, I just really wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading this fic and how wonderfully convincing you made this version of the HP world. Thanks for sharing it.
For the second time reading, this story is pure delight!
Oh, how I feel for Hermione in this chapter. First, she is so critical in her self-assessment of her desirability. Although her musing about Ron's hair and Harry's eyes is humorous in light of her ignorance of Lily's history with her Professor. Your description of Severus as the Slytherin serpent during Hermione's seduction of him is hypnotic. Then the mutual confusion and Severus' unthinking words make such a mess of an already difficult situation. Come to think of it, I feel bad for both characters at this point.
I have one word... EW @ voldie
lol
sorry bout that, couldn't hold it in, fantastic twist, kinda gross but hey it works, poor poor sevvy...
looking forward to the e nd so very much!
I was saving this story for a rainy day when I would absolutely need good ff. That rainy day was actualy a warm Fri night. And now it's Sat and I've spent the last night and day reading this story. I love it. I love all the quirks and subplots and I love even the things I don't, because those are what make this story so memorable. You created a detailed world and I was sucked right into it! Thank you!
Kudos from Brazil.
Stellar chapter
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you, again!
It was beautiful and very well written, I really admire you.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so very much. It warms my heart to read your remarks.
I loved, loved, loved the hounds. (Of course, especially Albus!) Severus finding the twin of her wand was just WOW. AND I really liked Hermione getting her grandfather's ring for Severus was so touching. Great as always!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much. This was a special chapter for me, for several reasons, and it does make me happy to know that it touched you.
This is the most beautiful ending I've ever read. I have enjoyed every chapter of this story, but this one was truly special. You have a wonderful talent that you have generously shared with the rest of us, thank you so much.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I can't thank you enough for sharing this with me, for letting me take your journey through the story with you.For all your kind words, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Finally she admits that she wants the baby (sigh if relief).now comes the painful part.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Yes, of course she wants her baby. (smile)And yes... the hard part, indeed.
Is Hermione ever going to call the little tyke her son. It's sad how she seems to have no feelings for baby Snape. Maybe once he's born she'll fall in love with the guy. (I hope so)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
For someone who has been so worried about control, about choices, to have this one thrust upon her was difficult. I think when Severus told her that he took full responsibility, it took a huge burden off her shoulders, because she already carries him there. It seems her every waking thought is about her professor.
George's reaction to the pregnancy was a little weird but really sweet too. I love when George said" I'm pretty sure it's Fred in there." The talk with Molly seemed to do Hermione a lot of good. It looks like she is getting use to the idea of a baby, finally. It was so sweet of him to bring her the dog. He does seem to be trying to make her Happy. She's a lucky girl.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I love George. I really do. I think it must have been terribly difficult for the Weasleys to lose any of their children, but for George to lose his twin... Tragic.
Lucius did save her from Bella so she does owe him a life debt. She will do the right thing, she always does.I am worried about Baby Snape, Hermione and Severus don't seem to interested in the little nipper. I hope they can learn to love the little guy.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
They had so much to deal with, and I think the damage done to their souls when they were so violently parted took a long time to heal. Fortunately, babies take awhile to grow, too.
Morning sickness sucks big time. She should take the potion, I sure would.Looks like Ron is quicker than most people give him credit for being. It was good to see Ron again, I miss the old gang sometimes.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you. I really liked making Ron have some of the intelligence he had in the first book.
What a lovely first Christmas for them. Severus may learn to like some muggle traditions.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
It was a delight to me that this fell in December when I wrote it, so I got to write their Christmas while it would have been happening.
Wow, he got her pregnant to save her life, that is magic. Can't wait to see how they handle this situation.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
The oldest magic in the book!
Oh, thank goodness she came back to him, I was getting really worried.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Yes, oh yes, this chapter killed me to write. But she had to come back, just had to.
Wow, what an incredible battle. It really felt like everything was happening at once.. I was pleased to see that Lucius is a man of his word, Draco too.I knew Severus would never help the Dark Lord defeat Harry Potter.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you. This was terribly difficult for me to figure out and write so I am especially happy that it worked for you.
"Imperio!" Unbelieveable, the dark lord has gone to far this time, even for him. I can't wait to see how this turns out.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I didn't plan that. When he said that, I just about fell out my chair. Honestly.Thank you again!
I have to hand it to Hermione, she really can take care of her self. Shes not a great shot, but she still did ok for a first attempt. Maybe next time she'll be carrying a machine gun. :)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
LOLOL! You KILL me! A machine gun!!!Love it. Love you! Thank you!
Throughout This chapter I was completely fascinated, so much happened it was unbelievable. The way Severus was reacting to the power was a little shocking, but sexy too. There is nothing sexier than a powerful man.My heart was breaking for Hermione, now that she has to deal with the consequences of her actions.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Yes, it was dark and sexy, wasn't it? Even though that was the last thing on his mind, being sexy. I'm glad you thought that, because I felt it, too.
