Severus Snape has just arranged himself with Draco Malfoy, when he gets yet another task: a young, charming female with flaming red hair and a fierce will to survive.
The Dark Lord sees the chance to add a set of little Snapes to his Death Eater offspring.
The story starts half a year after HBP.

Reviews for Three Options for Ginny
As far as I can remember, this is the first story I've read that has paired Ginny with Severus, and I'm fairly surprised at how well that 'ship works. Honestly, it may even make more sense than the Granger/Snape 'ship, and I'm sure you've read a few of *those*. It seems like Ginny would have to mature less as a person than Hermione would in order to be tolerable to Snape.
I also really like the way you've written the interactions between Ginny and Draco.
Can't wait to read your update!
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi,
Sure, I have read many of the SS/HGs, and I also like quite many. However, if the story follows an unusual line, Hermione easily gets OOC, like being very sportive ...
I admit I laughed a lot when the marriage law stories got blown with HBP--and this is in a way my take of it.
Ginny has several good, but VERY different points to connect with Severus. Certainly not academic books :-)
At times my Ginny became too Hermionish, but I try my best. When you notice that, please tell me.
BTW their ship will soon have a deep crisis--can't be helped.
Thanks for your encouraging words, they mean a lot to me,
Bettina
I'm really intriqued by this story and i'm really looking forward to the next chapter. Fantastic writing :).

Hi,
I'm glad you like it and I wish to thank you for leaving me a review. Feedback always encourages me greatly!
Bettina
Oliver Twist, I presume. Good story! May your muse never leave your side.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hello,
yep, that's the book --> hole in one!
My muse - lol - it isn't that what's keeping me from posting quicker, it is the darn trouble with commas and other 'traffic signs' of the English language.
Thank you for your review -- it makes my day.
Bettina
Oliver Twist? David Copperfield? Dickens, anyway. Good chapter.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi,
yep, Oliver Twist. Thanks a lot for your review,
Bettina
I'm really enjoying this story. I must admit, Oliver Twist was quickly my answer, but I don't know too many orphan stories that are titled a male name.Keep going - this is really good.I love that Remus was completely fooled and didn't understand that he'd been set up.

Hi
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
,
BINGO!! I don't know any other(!) such story at all :-) Would you agree that Severus Snape has it in his shelf?
Thank you so much for your encouraging words,
Bettina
How many guesses about the book do I get? First choice is Oliver Twist. Am I close? I'm too lazy to think more unless I have to. ;) I'm actually an SS/HG fan, but I'm enjoying your story a great deal. I'm also a happy ending junkie, so please make it so? Thanks for your work!
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi Cerydden,
you won't get a second guess, cause you don't need it!!
Yes, there shall be a happy end but you'll have to wait quite a bit, cause the Death Eaters have other plans. Not so much with our couple here, but with the war.
SS/HG fans are aplenty, and I enjoy those stories greatly, if then they keep their characters in canon.
I try hard to make Ginny not like Hermione. I search for other points of resonance with Severus. Hope I can convince you.
Thanks for your encouraging words,
Bettina
I'm really enjoying it so far!
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi,
thank you for your encouraging words!
Sorry that I'm answering so late, I was very busy with setting commas in ch4 .-) It should be up soon.
Bettina
The interactions you write are so intricate and beautiful. This is a beautiful story.

Hi,
so glad that you like the story and even take your time to leave me a message.
Thank you for your encouragement--it feels good!
Bettina
Hmm, I like it! I've never read a Snape/Ginny fic before. Sninny? Sounds catchy. I love how you describe the characters. On to chapter 2!
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi,
so glad that you like the story and even take your time to leave me a message.
I will do my best to convince you that Severus and Ginny have enough in common and a lot to give to each other. Let's see how I manage?
At times, I'm struggling with the grammar rules TPP insists on, which slows the story down, but I can say that it is scetched to the end. Provided I don't overtax my betas, this story will finish.
Thank you for your encouragement--it feels good!
BettinaThis is the first 'Ginny' story that I've read. I am a devout SS/HG shipper and my head keeps wanting to replace Ginny's name with Hermione ... but I can see where a muggle-born simply wouldn't fit into the same place in the story.
All that aside, I am enjoying the story and have bookmarked it for continued reading.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi,
I'm myself also intrigued by several SS/HG ships--not all though, obviously. I was so very amused that the marriage law wasn't working anymore that I kinda invented a new one.
I'm most carefully crafting Ginny to NOT being similar to Hermione, like not bookish, not bushy, but sportive and acting impulsively, drawing strength from her big family. The resonance with Severus must stem from elsewhere than pure intellect and I hope it will show. They do have several very similar experiences that Hermione doesn't have.
I also like the inverted challenge that here it is Severus who knows Muggles while 'she' does not.
If ten chapters in, you still think one could replace Ginny with Hermione and it would work smoothly, then I've failed .-) So please warn me in that case.
Thank you so much for this review, it always encourages me to read one.

I am so sorry for Maud. I hope she'll get better with time. And how long is it since their wedding. I thought I remember they couldn't kiss for a month?
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
At least in the near future, Maud is going to face more difficulties. The Stimufidelius remains volatile until the fourth new moon after the wedding, which is Sat 28th March. Chapter 25 is placed in the first week of March. I should add an A/N about this, I suppose. This is the trouble with slowly proceeding stories. Thank you so much for your review and the shiny stars!
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
That is the trick. I remembered 4 weeks but it was 4 months. Thanks for the clarification.
So, Snape shouldn't trust Draco? And poor Ginny. I can see why she would decide to go along with Snape, but this must be hard on her. A good chapter.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi,
so glad that you like the story and even take your time to leave me a message.
Well Snape does trust Draco since he has bound him to obey, but Ginny cannot know that. She has only bad choices at this moment.
At times, I'm struggling with the grammar rules, TPP insists on, which slows the story down, but I can say that it is scetched to the end. Provided I don't overtax my betas, this story will finish.

BettinaPoor Maud. Those idiot boys. Albert deserved to die.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Thanks so much for your words and stars. Not sure Albert deserved death. After all, the deed was Marcus'.
Poor Maud. I have forgotten, does she show about magic?
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
She's just a Muggle, but she has been wondering about the many oddities concerning Ginny. The one occasion she saw magic before this horror was after Ginny fell off the bike, and it has been obliviated. Thanks for your review!
Wow. That was very detailed and interesting. :)
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Thanks sunny! Yes, I loved developing all these details. Ginny would have other adjectives at hand (in mouth) though...
Always great to see another chapter of this story -- even when it has such difficult subjects. You handled it all very well. As always, I look forward to your next submission. Thanks, JoAnne
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Reviews and stars are such a reward, thank you!
She seems to have settled quite nicely in her new life. I'm glad for her. But when will their month of not kissing end. Surely it will help their relationship.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Bonjour! Odd as this life is, Ginny makes quite an effort to perservere and live it, you're right. But with her newfound friend Obliviated? The damn charm/curse of Stimufidelity will terminate vs the end of March. Thanks for your review!
I'm glad Ginny could find some happiness.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Thank you! Such lovely, shiny stars!
Interesting set up. I am curious to see how it all turns out with her occulmency skills.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Thanks for your kind review and the lovely stars.Yes, she will need these skills, Occlumency and Legilimency. They're crucial in the end.But I loved the rest of the magical world (besides the fight against LV) so much that I have inserted school life as well as a set of crackling fight before we get there.
So now he wants forgiveness. And I wish she could see that he was improving, but I'm glad that he is. The Dark Lord is certainly problematic.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
thanks
ohhh when will severus recover..... now that he wants to listen to the reason he still can't and what was it that draco was asking ginny to do???? can the fact of ginny's puking have anything to do with it....??? i have a suspicion that may well be unfounded so i wont voice it here but it connects to both ginny's puking and tht mysterious dialogue between draco and ginny...... please give a hint
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Ginny was puking at Hermione's horrible destiny if she had ended in the claws of Death Eaters & Voldemort.Honestly, I had expected reviewers to point out that there was a flaw in my story in the first four chapters -- there was not!! But I didn't elaborate the difference between the two girls. It is worth mentioning, and this just seems a time when Ginny would wonder. This will wait till Ginny tells H in person... loooong to go. :-) Draco himself found out how to possibly get Ginny past her current problem with Severus. Clearly, this needs to be explained sooner, esp since Severus heard part of it. These 2 are not related. And, just in case: no, Ginny's contraceptives did not fail--Snape is brewing them! Thanks for your review!
Response from pottermania (Reviewer)
ok... so what was hermione's destiny going to be??? i guess the destinies chanmged cause ginny's a pureblood whereas hermione's a mudblood.... and how did ginny understand hermione's destiny without draco elaborating????u like keeping suspenses too much
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Yes, Hermione being a Mudblood is a key difference.Ginny saw right through Draco --> he wasn't Occluding his mind well enough. This isn't a key to the plot though.
How much longer will he be in that state? It must be at least a week now and I wouldn't want Ginny's job, I'd never last that long. Caring for him now is just like caring for someone who has been totally incapacitated by a stroke or ALS. It is very difficult for him also, he has full mental capacity but he cannot communicate with anyone. I hope you don't prolong their suffering through another chapter. I also want to know what Draco suggested that made Ginny so angry.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
I fully agree! Severus had a fallback when he tried too hard, poor chap.Draco had a solution, but Ginny didn't accept it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Poor boy. It's hard, at least for me, to see him in such a state. I really hope he will manage to communicate with her soon.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
And Ginny? How hard is this for her? Thanks for your kind review!
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
Do I detect a hint of reproach? I was just saying that he can't move, or communicate with anyone. He's trapped in his mind: THAT's awful. Especially for someone like him.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Yes, being trapped in his mind IS awful for Severus. Would be for everyone, I agree. > Especially for someone like him.I disagree here. Snape is never too communicative. Assuming he trusted that he will eventually gain control over his body (V needs him...), he might have enjoyed his peace and developed a theory on some tricky potions in such a time -- if this had happened under different circumstances. So, I believe it is not more-than-average-hard on Severus Snape. It is much harder on people who define themselves through their communication with others. Ginny is busy 24/7 and doesn't receive any feedback on her actions. This must be terrible for someone who is used to being part of a crowd. She isn't an educated mediwitch, she's guessing from her life experience of mere 16 years. She KNOWS it cannot be perfect, but she doesn't know how Severus will judge her effort. She deserves our sympathy, too, but reviewers didn't give her as much thought as they spent on Severus. So, if you will, yes, a hint of reproach :-))I love receiving reviews, so no reproach at all here.
This chapter was so incredibly intense. Your handling of Sev's point of view through all of these events is tender and angsty and I just adored reading it, even as it made me hurt.Oh, the pain, the pain! Each of your chapters is well worth the wait, even though I hate waiting!Thank you for such a wonderful story!
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Wow, you're quick today! Thank you for a wonderful review.
Still waiting. Possessing my soul with patience has never been one of my strong points, either.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Hi, i know but this story is heavily beta:d so that you can read it smoothly. Sorry, but chapters are slow in coming. Maybe tomorrow.
