SQUEEEE - You are back!! I was just wondering the other day if you'd return. Off to read the chapter now.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Yes, I'm still here! This chapter had once again seen a swap of my betas, and then there was Christmas and a holiday. I hope you liked it. The next chapter should be up in a week or so.
It's a really nice update. I'm just slightly frustrated that they still can't kiss each other.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
thank you! No, kissing is still not allowed.
I was really pleased to see an update for this. I'm so tired of seeing all the SS/HG stories listed here and it wonderful to see something without Hermione.I enjoyed Ginny's questions to Ollivander and his answers, I think I learned something from them.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Ginny too enjoyed meeting Ollivander, and she learned a lot. She, in contrast to us, can even use this information. Severus learned important things that day as well, and I do not mean the details of wandmaking. Thank you so much for sharing your opinion with me. I hope you'll join them to Salazar's Academy.

It's been so long but it's really worth it. I love the way they're beeing comfortable together. Hope for the kiss soon.

Yes, this chapter took us very long. I'd rather not promise we'll do better, only that we'll try.I'm afraid they'll have some more trouble before they can kiss. Remember that the spell holds 4 months... much can happen in this time. Thank you for your kind words.

I feel like I've waited an inordinate amount of time for this update and I was not disappointed. I really liked the slow, gradual, natural way Severus and Ginny went about getting to know each other. Severus taking her on a date. Ginny realizing she had hurt his feelings and really thinking about how to fix it. Her tender thoughts about him "What? I saw and heard so many new things. Why would you think... Oh, you mean the restaurant." Her voice fell. Damn, I have broken the charms there. How can I make amends for that? What sort of approach to use with this quiet, reserved man, who is just about to thaw when we're together?"Absolutely Love It. (AND I'm taking notes!)
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
You're taking notes? What does this mean? Should I be afraid?Thank you for your nice review!
Response from la Chatelaine (Reviewer)
Heavens no! For when I see a certain quiet, reserved man of my own!

I quite liked your explanation about Ron's/Charlie's wand; that has troubled me since book 1. I've been enjoying this story a lot. I'm normally a ss/hg kind of gal, but you make Severus/Ginny work. I was thrilled to see that you had updated.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Me too, I have been thinking of Ron's/Charlie's wand, and now I've an expert at hand that I can use to explain it. Within such a big family, one ancestor could be compatible enough, but it would be far from perfect. So it also fits to Ron's status in his family... and I made Molly recognise it! I'm making an effort to keep Ginny un-bookish and generally un-Hermionish. Concretely in this chapter: - the need for physical exhaustion, i.e. the hike - poor spelling skills - her thoughts drift off to then non-scientific aspect of being a wandmaker: the scenes she imagines in O's shop. This is challenging considering all the (brilliant) SS/HG out there in fandom. If you ever get the feeling that one could just replace their names then alert me, will you? Sorry for the loooong gaps between updates. They annoy me as well, but RL kicked in with priority--as it should!! Thanks for reviewing!

I like the closeness. It was an enjoyable chapter.

thank you.

I can't honestly say this was my first thought but it really amused me. Boy are they going to have stories to tell the grandkids, probably to their own kid's consternation. Seriously though, it's all so tenderly bitter sweet I smile. But evil is starting to stir and she needs her black knight more than ever. ILFCHs. :)
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
thanks as always! Not sure, though, if any of this is grandchildren-talk. Oh, but wizards lead a long lfe, so maybe when these children are ... 25?
Well, it does seem that surviving six older brothers and being in a family that is so poor that they couldn’t afford even one house elf has actually given Ginny survivor skills. I like the way she thinks before she speaks most of the time, that she observes and ponders her observations, and she is not so rigid that she can’t change her mind set in mid-stride when she has to so to speak. I would bet that Draco and Ginny are both wondering which of the two of them actually had the “deprived” childhood. I just love your handling of the relationships among the three of them. They seem so “real” given the contrived situation in which they find themselves. Please continue! I'm so glad to have found your work.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
thanks again! I'm not sure what Draco thinks about 'Life as a Weasley' at this point of the story, but he presents some comparison soon. I'll keep your idea in mind for later! In ch 2 and 3, they have more pressing things in mind than their family lives (you point it out as well). To ease my curiosity: you review 1 ch a day but there are 14 ch out already. Do you set yourself this restriction to read the stories this slowly? Admirable!Bettina

Oh no, in real life I am a medical transcriptionist who works the third shift (4 p.m. to 1 a.m.) and that requires me to actually pay attention to every single word the doctors say for 8 hours at a time. After being tied to the computer screen for that long and even though I love both my work and these stories, the old body will switch off and make me go somewhere else to let my brain rest, like to the TV. But I will say, reading fanfics are like the famous potato chips, you can't eat just one. Especially when they are good, like yours. ^_^

Ah, I love all your details. And with all the other important things going on, Severus having thirds of everything I found quite amusing and at the same time kind of sad. Ginny is turning out to be a rather sharp young lady, no need for her to feel inferior to anyone, not even Hermione. Draco as human being is a refreshing thought; that he is finally getting some nurturing and from Severus yet, very refreshing indeed. Now whom does Ginny end up with when all is said and done? I can't wait to find out.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
thanks! I love the way you review. Ginny is related to Bill, Charlie and Percy, all of whom Ron describes as very smart. The original Hermione, with all her cleverness, hardly set priorities but wants to know 'everything'. That's not Ginny!Draco started out as an interesting character. He was then shamefully neglected in DH -- just being frightened at a meal with the Dark Lord and then returning to school with everybody else?!?! It didn't do him justice. After HBP, I had expected him to get a key role, but it seems we need to cover that in fanfiction. > when all is said and done?Don't forget where they are, i.e. by whom it is going to be said!
This is very interesting. I've read nothing but HG/SS up until now (and I love them, of course) but Ginny and Snape is a new concept for me. The vision of Severus as created by the yummy Alan Rickman is unfortunately hard to displace at times. I have to remind myself that Severus at this time is probably just in his mid-30s just slightly more than twice Ginny's age, not an Old Man by any stretch of the imagination. (I have 30-year-old children myself, so I often suffer his sorrows just as I would for my own sons). While the youthful Gryffindors suffer a lot from their simple lack of experience with life, watching the 30-ish Severus dealing with the "Why me? Why is it "always" me?" syndrome, and STILL caring for the children, STILL seeking the right, CONTINUALLY doing that which MUST be done WHEN it must be done is exhilarating. Brava, Bettina. please continue.

What a great review, thank you!! You point out points that I see crucial. According to DH, James Potter is born in 1961. Also with books 1-6, it was clear that they were young hen they had Harry. I later mention that I make Severus be born in 1959 so that he was @school with Narcissa. It was canon when I started off, and he is still young. Thus, I cannot believe that he had the time/interest to become a Sex God AND a Potions Master AND an expert in Muggle literature, art and history, fluent in 5-7 languages... and all that while not developing any social skills. I constructed a past with some of the above--you'll see. Ginny has a very specific childhood, esp in her 1st year @Hogwarts that cannot be wiped away with hot chocolate. I found synergies--all I need is to make the two find them. The relationship-part I wrote is not as complex as in the best of the SS/HG stories, though. I hope you stay tuned anyway!
Response from la Chatelaine (Reviewer)
Most definitely.
Hm, so Severus had to listen. I'm surprised he wasn't even more curious.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Severus is lucnt and drifting off in short intervals. Thank you for your review.
I'm nearly thinking he deserved what happened to him for his rash behaviour towards her. But it has a good side. He knows part of the truth and may want to know the rest of the story. Stupid, stubborn git. But I like him so much. Please don't make him suffer too long. I think he learns his lesson.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
He could not ASK her, given the state he's in. So, whatever he wants, he'll have to wait. And you with him. Thank you for leaving a review!
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
I mean when he could of course.
Now I've found my master. I thought I was the stubborniest person in the world. But Severus is worse than me. I hope he will hear the voices of reason soon.

Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
yes, well, even if he hears then, he cannot react on then, can he? thanks for your review!
You brought me so close to an answer and then you ended it. I gather from what 'He Who I Find Most Tiresome' said that the paralyzing spell would last for a week and the week should be just about over, so I hope that the paralysis will be gone by the next chapter and all his faculties will be restored and that he has heard enough to make him ask her what cause her to do that at their wedding.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
oh, I'm so sorry :-)
Response from Trickie Woo (Reviewer)
Well please update soon and ease my curiosity.
What a fabulous chapter.Of course I'm dying to know what the kiss would have meant, had she allowed it.And how on earth they're going to manage fulfilling their obilgations without Ludwig's Lust!
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
thank you! Now we need a little patience with our patient!
Response from mia madwyn (Reviewer)
::I'm having trouble being patient with our author!::::next chapter, please?::
Another great chapter. While I do love this story, I must say how sad it makes me to see Ginny and Severus at odds. They were headed in such a different direction before "the wedding incident". I have hope, because I think it wouldn't hurt them so much if they both didn't care. It goes to show how well you write in that it evokes such feelings in the reader. I hope it doesn't last too much longer. Thanks for posting, JoAnne
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Yea, they are both hurting. Thanks for feeling with them!
Ooooh so very interesting. Damn it Snape, just ask her! We're all dying to know the reason WHY!Brilliant chapter, very informative.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
How would he, while he can't even blink? He'll have to wait, and you with him! Thanks for your nice note!
hmmm this gets inetresting.... hopefully now he'll swallow his pride and ask........ am very curious as to the answer.... u've kept us hanging for so long
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
yep, we're approaching the resolution. Thanks for leaving me your note!!
Response from pottermania (Reviewer)
please update soon and please in the next chapter finally resolve the suspense........ it obviously has something to do with the "pureblood heritage" but why doesnt she let him kiss her in public places, even though she lets him treat her so abominably in private???????
I don't understand why Ginny refuses to kiss him publicly again..................hmmmmm, I'm beginning to think it must have something to do with the wedding vows. Oh goodness, so many questions..............Brilliant story though and I shall eagerly await another update.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Then you understand Severus. If only he was 'beginning to think' as well!! Thanks for leaving your review!
I'm pleased to see an update here tonight. How long can he hold out from asking why she did that at the ceremony, and how much longer can she go without breaking down and telling him herself? I'm all for draco doing a little research and using what he finds to get Severus back into the mode he was in before the wedding ceremony ended so disaterously. Update soon, you've left us with a cliffie and I will worry about what 'He Who I've Always Found Most Tiresome' ('HW' for short) will do to him.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
Will it do any good if Draco point out to Severus that he's wrong? Or Ginny throwing it at him? I don't think so. HW--that's Voldemort? Well, he does have plans, indeed. Sooo sorry for leaving a cliffie :-)
That was a lovely chapter. And he still won't ask.
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
thanks!! Nope he won't... yet.
I wish I could do the research for Draco - then maybe I could learn this secret more quickly!
Response from Bettina (Author of Three Options for Ginny)
