I really enjoyed the sweet talk they had at the end where she told him what she liked about him, and I thought his feelings towards Chen, and the relief after, were spot on and very plausible.

Loved this chap, really. His considerations, and then suspicions at the breakfast, her musings and then relaxing by talking to Remus, totally absorbed, the subsequent misunderstandings – very well done. I was glad they talked and came clear about them.

I loved also their date in the evening, the soft snogging and relaxing and sleeping on the sofa – but, and I do hope you don’t mind awfully - I can not imagine them talking about: nothing, at all. The whole evening. But on the other side, perhaps falling in love can do that to talkative people…

Anyway, I’m looking immensely forward to the next update.

Another excellent chapter.  Severus is not OCC at all.  In fact I think he reacted exactly as you expect someone  who lacks self confidence to react.  He has been told all his life that he is ugly, so he will retreat behind his walls to avoid  the risk of humilation.  Again, this has been beautifully written.  Can't wait for more.  Toodles, Alexandra.

I sincerely doubt that Severus Snape would be so easily manipulated--he's not the sort to engage in such games against his will, especially without some large, personal goal, something much more than not being ignored.This is more like Henry Higgins--grown accustomed to her face and all that. But Henry never did anything with Eliza and she married Freddie....

Oh wow!  It was wonderful!  Loved the misunderstanding, because we know they would both be self conscious enough to jump there right away.  But that they confronted each other and didn't bite any heads off - that was good.  And the dinner in was absolutely fantastic.  Ahhh to be in Hermione's shoes. *sigh*  Can't wait for the next.

Aww!  A lovely snog by firelight... I'd trade places with Hermione anytime.  Not sure I'd be keeping my hands to myself though. *cough*The breakfast scene was nicely done, just the right amount of angst to keep us on the edge of our seat.  The fact that it didn't turn out to be a really ugly, nasty screaming match, was satisfying to say the very least. Good work in this chapter. I liked the misunderstanding because it seemed plausible (for both), and I loved that they talked things out. Also, good imagery. :)

I think you did a pretty good job of keeping him in character, I envision him being the insecure, suspicious type so the breakfast scene worked well for me, I can't wait for the next chapter.

My gracious!  And that first long kiss was in public, too.  I'm wondering how they'll feel and act toward each other in succeeding days.  (And Valentine's Day is drawing closer...)  Will Hermione continue to exercise some kind of 'plan' or just go with the flow?  It seems like this story could go a number of directions from here.  I'll look forward to finding out.

The problem I have found with fanfiction are lines just like this. I wondered, why isn't my husband like this? And then it finally hit me ... women write the fanfiction with all the great smut in it and men just don't have a clue! 

A little smut goes a long way.
