I am in my late 50's and I didn't even start reading Harry Potter until after the third book came out. My granddaughter got me 'hooked on Potter,' and while surfing the net one day, I found a fanfiction site. That was it! My first story, "Renaissance," was published on Ashwinder a month later and I've been writing ever since. I am primarily a HG/SS shipper, but I also enjoy reading and writing RL/SS. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderfully adoring and supportive husband, and three completely spoiled cats. (Kallie, Mysha, and Smudge {who was the inspiration for the cat that Severus gives Hermione in my story "Renaissance."}) I'm always happy to correspond with my readers and I answer ALL reviews. I'm always looking for plot-bunnies, so feel free to throw some ideas out.
Reviews for Tidings of Comfort and Joy
The way you write Snape with a huge heart but just the right amount of snark makes me jealous of Hermione! I look forward to reading anything else your lovely imagination comes up with. Great story!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I have a couple of other stories posted here. And I will be posted more. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post such a lovely review.
Beautiful ending. I tend to think like Severus and get squicked by the sappiness, but you did a good job and I didn't cringe once! The proposal was wonderful, and Hermione's gift to Severus was great.

Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Well, I certainly don't squeeze the toothpaste tube in the middle -- but I know someone who does. Hey, even Snape isn't perfect! Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment.
Please...chapter 10!!!! This is a great story
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)

Wow...great and believable backstory on Snape's childhood. Very plausible ideas there, I like it!~HR
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Thanks so much. I always like trying to 'account' for Snape's caustic personality! Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a comment.
*Claps hands together in delight* I thought I was hallucinating when I saw your story updated again... but nope, here is chapter 9! *Giggles* and what a chapter it was... I now have nice fuzzy wuzzly (*snigger*) feelings inside!
I'm feeling a little nervous now, what with Hermione's procedure about to take place... *bites nails*
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
The mods here have graciously and generously extended 'validated author' status to me. I am humbled by their faith in me! This means that my updates don't have to go through the queue and show up on the site as soon as I post them. That's why chapter nine showed up just one day after chapter eight. I'm glad I've managed to give you some 'warm fuzzies'! The tenth (and final) chapter should show up in a few days. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a review. It is appreciated.
Well...I have to say I absolutely love this story!
I remember seeing it during the exchange, but never read it(clearly a HUGE mistake on my part).
Remembering that I saw it during the exchange, I'll admit that I cheated and checked out the rest of it over. On the off-chance that anyone, besides you dear author, reads this before you post the rest, all I have to say about it is "YESSS"*does happy dance*
Things I absolutely adored: Flitwick cursing like sailor. When he called Bellatrix a diabollical bitch..I giggled a little. Also, i loved Ron's character. I like Ron, just not when he's all full of jealous rage. I've always thought that him and Snape, if jealousy were not present, would be the first to put away their animosity towards each other.
Great characters, great plot and GREAT writting. This one is going on my favourite's list, and is probably one I'll revisit sometime in the furture.
Again, great work,
Rain
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I think the comment I have Ron making -- that his mum and dad have a lot of respect for Snape is probably true. Molly and Arthur, as members of the Order, would 'see' Snape in a much different light than his students do. I think some of the repect would have trickled down to Ron in spite of the way Snape treats him and Harry. So maybe, once old Moldyport is gone, it's not too much of stretch to think that Snape and Ron could learn to get along, even if they never become bosom buddies.
I love writing Flitwick in this story! I loved giving him the vocabulary of a drunken sailor, yet acknowledging his brilliance and his true 'heart of gold.' I'm glad to know you appreciated him, as well.
Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave such lovely comments. They are appreciated more than you know!
Just read both chapters. Both were brilliant, but this one was superb. Just so loving.Severus making love to her without the charm just brought a lump to my throat.Be very proud of your writing, its beautiful.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Your comments warm this old author's soul. Thanks so much.
Alright, see, Ron was way too much of a teenage girl in this one lmao.. Which just makes it wonderful, because I've always seen him acting like a teenage girl of a prat that he is. *nods*.."Go on, kiss her goodbye already, you know you want to.!" Dies laughing*I want the next one.. one more.. The happy ending. I must have it or I'll explode!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm not a big Ron fan, but I promised my sister-in-law that I'd be 'nice' to him this time. I actually made him the mature one! The final chapter should post within the next couple of days. Thanks for reading, Julianna. As always, your comments are delightful and make me smile.
Awe...... I'm so nervous about the next chapter. I'm thrilled that things worked out for them and she can't blame it on being 'fixed'. I need more.....
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Don't be nervous. The final chapter will be posted within the next couple of days. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Aww that made me tear up. please update soon.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm glad you liked it. I'll be posting the next (and last) chapter within a couple of days. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Great love scene. Very natural since it have gone slow about things.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Writing 'lemons' is never easy for me. I want my love scenes to be sensual and natural, but not too graphic and contrived. It's a fine line and I sweat over every word. I'm glad you appreciated it. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a comment.
Response from ancientgirl (Reviewer)
I hate writing lemons for that same reason. I always think what I write sounds like something from a cheap romance novel. I usually try to avoid them at all cost and if I include them in a story, it is usually just once maybe twice and not too detailed.
So sweet and good.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm glad you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and for leaving a review. It is appreciated.
I really love this story! It's got a great plot, it's wellwritten and you have the characters well in hand.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm glad you're enjoying the story. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave such thoughful comments.
Gah!!!!! I know you only told me there would be ten chapters here, but I swore this would be the one where they would either heal her, or tell her that they could never help her and she would remain the way she was. (Though I am leaning more towards healing seeing as, after all, you haven't yet given me a happy ending *Smiles* Something I dearly love about you!!!!) So I almost cried when I didn't get it. But I do love the Albus thing. I truly do. I never realized he was living off his own inner thoughts, and not a promise. Great twist my love. Julianna (*Ish bouning waiting for the next chapter to stop being in que so that I can read it!*)
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I do so enjoy your reviews, Julianna dear. Two more chapters to go and chapter 9 is in queue. I'm glad you liked the bit with Albus and the promise. Don't give up on the happy ending ... smile. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment. As always, it is greatly appreciated.
Oh! Oh! Oh!
Yay! Lol! Um... really, that was such a yay moment when Albus told Severus it was all his own doings.
And also I'm so glad that Filius has managed to figure out the "counter curse" which isn't a counter curse *grin* well done for going the original root!
I'm looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I really liked the idea of Snape, having been a 'pawn' for so long, not being able to recognise that the 'tingle' he felt was NOT the reminder of a promise, but the stirrings of his own long-buried heart. I'm glad you liked Flitwick's 'counter-curse.' He's a Charms master -- of course he'd figure it out! Thanks for reading and taking the time to review.Next chapter has been uploaded and awaits validation.
yay
*happy dance*
there does not have to be any lies or secrets between Hermione and Severus! Very happy now.

Poor Severus ... I'm glad you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Oh, I knew Flitwick and Severus would come through for Hermione--Poppy too! *crossing my fingers for the next chappy*

Oh what a sweet chapter! I love how fast you update!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm glad you liked it. I loved writing the scene between Severus and Dumbledore. Another reviewer thought I was quite tardy in my update. Good thing TPP isn't as slow as Sychophant Hex. I uploaded the first chapter of this story to both sites the same day. (1/10/07) -- Chapter 8 validated here on 2/3, and guess what? Sycophant Hex validate chapter ONE the same day. Three-and-a-half weeks to validate. Talk about waiting for updates!Oh, well ... looks like TPP will be my main archive from now on.Anyway...sorry to ramble! Thanks for reading and for taking the time to review. It is much appreciated.
Hooray! But shame on you for not updating sooner.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Chapter 8 was published just 5 days after chapter 7. I don't think that's very long time at all. I've seen stories that take weeks and sometimes MONTHS to update. (And some that have been abandoned.) I'm glad that you like the story enough to be impatient for the next update, but gimme a break! lolThanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment.P.S. Chapter 9 should be uploaded by Tuesday, I think.
