I am in my late 50's and I didn't even start reading Harry Potter until after the third book came out. My granddaughter got me 'hooked on Potter,' and while surfing the net one day, I found a fanfiction site. That was it! My first story, "Renaissance," was published on Ashwinder a month later and I've been writing ever since. I am primarily a HG/SS shipper, but I also enjoy reading and writing RL/SS. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderfully adoring and supportive husband, and three completely spoiled cats. (Kallie, Mysha, and Smudge {who was the inspiration for the cat that Severus gives Hermione in my story "Renaissance."}) I'm always happy to correspond with my readers and I answer ALL reviews. I'm always looking for plot-bunnies, so feel free to throw some ideas out.

I appreciate your reading my story,

, but I'm not sure which chapter you read. The story is complete in ten long chapters, and all chapters are posted here on The Petulant Poetess. I hope you enjoyed it!
One word: Beautiful!

I will try to upload the next chapter by Friday. Thanks for reading and for the stars!
The way you are developing Severus and Hermione's relationship is nothing short of lovely.
and
"The unrealistic attitude of a society that judges people on form instead of substance is ugly."
That is so very true that it should be cast in stone; it's utterly profound.
Lastly, I will admit to cheating... After reading chapter 5 here, I was reading on -another site- and found a wonderful surprise... It was quite a "gift".
However, I love this story so much that as time (and PP alerts) permit, I will reread it, and continue to express my appreciation: here.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I don't think that's cheating at all ... lol. I will tell you that there are some minor changes in the text here. Nothing that affects the story, just some neatening up.I appreciate all your comments here. I'm happy that you agree with some of my philosophy. I think people in general tend to be far more judgemental than they should be. It is a fault all of us have been guilty of on occasion. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a comment.
“And he can cook!” I think you should offer a drool bucket with this fic... and it's not just your descriptions of their meals that has me salivating. But perhaps that's too much information? Sorry! :) Please update soon.

I'm so glad you're enjoying. I hope to post chapter 8 by Friday (if RL doesn't bite me on the arse). Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a comment. It is much appreciated.
boy I am soo excited and hopeful for Hermione! I feel really sorry for the animals they must use, but at least their suffering is minimized. The boys' mini blowup about Snape was disappointing since they've had a chance to see him in a different light. Thank goodness Ron's really grown up. Oh well--I know they're just worried for Hermione.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I think Harry was just having a gut reaction. Once he calmed down and thought about it, he knew he was wrong. The story is winding down now ,,, just 3 more chapters. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment.
Another great chapter!! I can't wait for them to find a cure so Snape and Hermione can get it on *lol*
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Good things come to those who wait. Severus and Hermione will have their moment. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a comment.
Thanks for the update, this is a wonderful story!! I just found it recently and read all the chapters over a day. I especially like how you've brought Flitwick into it, and made him an important part of finding Hermione's cure. And I really like how you've made Ron and Harry mature and supportive of Hermione. I can't wait to read more!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Since this story begins five-and-a-half years after the Final Battle, that would make Harry and Ron something like 23 or 24 years old. More than past time for them to grow up, I'd say!I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I loved writing it.I'm also glad you like Flitwick. I had a lot of fun writing him in this story. We don't know a lot about him from Canon, so I got to stretch my creative wings! I hope to upload Chapter 8 by Friday. The story in complete in ten chapters, so I hope you'll come back and see how things turn out. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a review. It is greatly appreciated.
Great as always! Looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Thank you so much!
Wow, I was beginnin to worry that Snape's bits would be dangling from his ears or worse. Good thing Hermione & Ron managed to get him to come around. Although somehow I think it's not totally accepted by Harry yet.
On another note, I knew Flitwick would figure out the curse, but had hoped that Snape would be the one to do it.
Keep on writing for us.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I think if it came down to a duel between Harry and Snape, it would be HARRY'S bits dangling, not Snape's! *grin*Harry will still have a difficult moment or two ... Awww...what's wrong with Flitwick getting a bit of the glory now and then? Merlin knows, he never gets the girl! This story is complete in ten chapters. Next one will upload later this week. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment. It is appreciated.
oooohhhh, progress! I jus love Flitwick, although I'm suprised the catching on about disfigurement took so long since the curse obviously didn't incenerate her? I'm glad their relationship is slow and before the countercurse is found. Hmmm, is he ever going to come clean about his promise. She should be thankful for more than one reason, but still...
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
The issue of the promise is cleared up next chapter, honest. I had a lot of fun writing Flitwick in this story. And, I'm thinking that they tried a huge number of permutations of the curse before they found the right one. As for not figuring out that it was designed to disfigure and NOT kill, well, Ron IS the strategist in this story. Everyone was focusing on the 'flesh burning' aspect of the curse. They thought it didn't do it because Neville's curse deflected Bellatrix's aim. It took that think session with Ron for them to figure it out. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment. I'm glad you are enjoying the story.
*Swoons* Alright, when don't I swoon over your writing? *Giggles* Chapter 8 must be next. Yes, it must!!!!!!!!Loved it. But you're used to me saying that by now, now aren't you????Julianna
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I never get tired of hearing someone say they love my writing. You keep right on saying it, Julianna! Thanks so much.
WAHOO! I am so glad they found the curse! Usually im against animal testing, but they can heal the ones that didnt die, right? once they find the counter curse? :)what happens next?!?!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
The next chapter gives a bit more details on the animal testing. (It was done humanely, and no animals were harmed during the writing of this story) I tried to think of another way they could test the curse and the counter-curse, but it seemed animal testing was the only way to do it. I'm glad you are enjoying the story, though. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a comment.
Awww! Yay!!! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!And again... can't wait to the next chapter *chuckle* though I know realistically the next one won't be up as fast as this was after finishing chapter 6 *grin*
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Probably not --- *smile*I'll try to post chapter 8 by Friday, though. Thanks for reading and for your lovely comments.
Yay they found the curse! And Kudos to Ron for being the voice of reason here.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm not a big Ron fan. (Usually, I kill him off or treat him like a real prat.) I promised my sister-in-law that I'd treat him better this time around. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to post a comment. It is appreciated.
Response from ancientgirl (Reviewer)
LOL, I don't normally treat Ron very well myself, but every now and then I like reading that he's not being such a fucker.
Finally some progress on all fronts!!! Whooo hoooo. A kiss, we find the right curse, and Harry and Ron know about her feelings. What an emotionally full chapter. Thanks for the update.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)

I'm really enjoying your story. Can't wait til the next chapter!!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Thank you so much. Next chapter will upload in the next day or so.
I'm loving it! Can't wait to read more! I'm also glad I'm not the only one who likes the idea that wizards/witches have to be in a close embrace to side apparate!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm loving that you're loving it. I'll be uploading chapter 7 within the next couple of days. I checked the Harry Potter Lexicon, and there is no specific manner described for Side-Along Apparition, but I think it makes perfect sense that the two people would have to be relatively close together to achieve it. And since the exact method is not explained in Canon, I'm free to put my own spin on it.Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment. It is appreciated.
Love your fic! Can't wait for more.
