I am in my late 50's and I didn't even start reading Harry Potter until after the third book came out. My granddaughter got me 'hooked on Potter,' and while surfing the net one day, I found a fanfiction site. That was it! My first story, "Renaissance," was published on Ashwinder a month later and I've been writing ever since. I am primarily a HG/SS shipper, but I also enjoy reading and writing RL/SS. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderfully adoring and supportive husband, and three completely spoiled cats. (Kallie, Mysha, and Smudge {who was the inspiration for the cat that Severus gives Hermione in my story "Renaissance."}) I'm always happy to correspond with my readers and I answer ALL reviews. I'm always looking for plot-bunnies, so feel free to throw some ideas out.

Wonderful story. You even got me to tear up a couple of times. Thanks for writing it.

I'm so happy to hear you liked it. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a review.
wow is the only word I have to tell you how is your fic. I saw it for a while but didn't have much time to read. but once I've begun I couldn't stop (in fact I have to by 3 am because I was working today and it was very hard to get up at 7 am). I've just finished and it's wonderful. I hope you're planning to write some others with SS and HG
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I've very flattered that you stayed up so late to read my story. SS and HG are my favourite pairing. I've written a number of stories with them. Some are posted over at the old Ashwinder site. Now called sycophant hex or Mage. I will probably re-post here at some point as I'm rather disillusioned with the new Mage site. At any rate, thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a review in spite of your tiredness! And thens for all the lovely stars.
Great story.

I'm glad you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
I have hit myself over the head 10 times, for missing chapter 10 when it was posted.Your story was absolutely beautiful. One of the best Severus and Hermione stories I have ever read, or written.I have added it to favourites so I can re-read it again, whenever I need inspiration.I hope to see your name against a new story, as soon as your ready.Best wishes.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I loved writing it -- it's definitely one of my favourites, too! Thanks for reading and for your lovely comments throughout.
This story was fabulous! I very much enjoyed the dialogue between Snape and Hermione, their characterizations, and the plot itself; I felt as though I had finally found a unique story (amidst a sea of similar HG/SS fics). I also love when authors include a variety of other characters from the series: your Flitwick, Pomfrey, et al were fabulous as well! Thank you for such a well thought-out story :)
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm so happy to know that you enjoyed it. I loved writing it. I really liked Flitwick in this one, too. Since we really don't know a lot about him in Canon, I was able to indulge myself a bit. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to review.
I had to go back to Chapter 4 to see why she gave Severus a stocking...almost missed it. Glad that Hermoine was paying attention. Thanks for the wonderful story!!!!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. When I first started writing this, I had the original conversation about the Christmas stocking a bit more detailed. Then I decided to downplay it and use the stocking at the end. I hope it worked! Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment.
Excellent story. It was adult, the characters were in-character, and it was touching.
Thanks for writing and posting.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Thank you so much. I'm glad you appreciated it.
*cries* it's sad that it ended... but I'm so happy at the same time!
This story was just perfect; in pace, in what was and wasn't included... on how their relationship grew... everything!
Is there a chance that a sequel will appear... maybe... if I cross my fingers.... *grins*
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm very flattered by your comments. At this point, I don't see a sequel happening. I think I've taken this one as far as I can, though I do appreciate that you like the story enough to want it to continue. Thanks for reading and for your wonderful comments throughout.

The future:
*Puts up posters for plot bunnies requiring work*
*Hires and bribes them to chase you*
*Sits back and watches chapters appearing*
*Reviews... is happy...*
*Goes mad from reading such fabulous fanfic*
Excellent! Is there plans for a follow-up story? The wedding, kids, Hermione college/job?
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Right now, I think I've done all I want to with this story. I'm afraid that a continuation would lack any real drama. I'm glad you enjoyed it, however. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to review.
Brilliant!! a story im sure to read again and again!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
To know that one's work will be re-read is a great compliment. Thank you so much.
Ahh, so beautiful. Thanks you for bringing some comfort and joy in to my own life. Very well-written and thoroughly enjoyable.

I'm so happy to know you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment.
What a lovely story, thank you so much for sharing it with us!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and the happy ending was great (and the properties of rubies was interesting and also a very nice touch). It would be wonderful if you wrote a sequel to this someday!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Sorry, but I've no plans for a sequel, though I appreciate that you liked the story enough to want one.I was fascinated when I read about the purported properties of the ruby. The fact that it was believed that the ruby protected one while working among one's enemies was just too perfect for me to pass up! It seemed to "fit" Severus's life so well. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to review.
are you planning an epilogue, or better yet, a sequel to this lovely story? I'm a sucker for weddings (esp. if it's Severus & Hermione's). Libras are just romantic fools
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
At this point, I've no plans for any kind of continuation of this story. If you don't mind a bit of self-pimpage, I have another story posted at the old Ashwinder site (sycophant hex) that has a wedding in it. The story is call "Renaissance." Maybe sometime I'll post it here as I've become quite disillusioned by sycophant hex! In any case, thanks for reading and for taking the time to review. I appreciate it.
What a wonderful story! I read it straight through and really enjoyed it. You made me cry with Severus' description of what Albus meant to him, and I cried a few 'happy tears' at the ending. Thanks!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I must confess that I cried when I wrote the scene between Albus's portrait and Severus. I just can't believe that Snape will turn out to be truly evil. If all us fans can create a plausible reason for Severus's actions, then I'm sure that Jo can, as well! Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a review. It is appreciated.
I'm so glad Hermione got her happy ending!
severus--shine on, you crazy diamond!!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Poor misguided fool ... lolThanks for reading and for taking the time to review. (And thank you for the lovely stars!)
Oh, thank you for such a happy ending. Loved it!!!

THE ENDING....... YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!I swear, I will go on every ride with you, with Severus and Hermione forever, or at least, as long as you keep writing. I've waited for this for so long. And I kind of already knew what the outcome would be, but still, here I am with tears in my eyes, and here I am still smiling like a little school girl. It was wonderful, thank you again. For all that you write. Your's faithful. Julianna
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Julianna, you have been a joy throughout. Your kind words and your enthusiasm are wonderful. I made you cry? Good! That means my writing touched you. Thanks so much for your support and your warm wishes. Diane
Wonderful story. I am looking forward to your next.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Thanks so much. Right now, I'm working on one of the prompts for the Potter Place winter challenge. It's a Hermione/Lupin fic with barely a mention of Severus Snape. I hope you'll enjoy it anyway ... lolThanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment.
This story is just great- the beginning was so heartbreaking, but still I can see Hermione doing something like that.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm so glad you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
The red woollen stocking was such a sweet gift! The perfect end to a great story!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to review.
Thank you for the great story. I know from your response to my last review who to read when I want a 'real person' Snape. I do enjoy reading the evil Snape and the sometimes too nice Snape ... but I tend to see him much as you mentioned.
JKR has talked him down way too much, and to me it seems like the blowing of a lot of smoke. We’ll find out, I hope. It would be just horrible if she leaves his loyalties in question at the end of the series. Regardless, I will still love Severus.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
If JKR treats Snape as badly as I think she will, all that will be left is the stories that we, his loyal fans, create. I'm hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. I'm glad you enjoyed my story. Thanks for reading and for your lovely comments.
OMG! That was just beautiful! Just a wonderful end to a fabulous story.

Yay!!!! A happy ending! I'm so glad her face was restored and she was able to be herself again.
Thank you for a lovely story.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy)
Of COURSE there was a happy ending, silly girl! Thanks for reading and for all your lovely comments throughout.
