Someone who really, REALLY ought to be doing something else, but just keeps on writing.
Wondering why my stories take forever? Have a look at My Other Time Devourer: www.willametteartcenter.com I'm both the webmaster and the president of the Friends of the Visual Arts, a 501-C3 nonprofit in Salem, Oregon. We Put The Fun Back In Art.
Having 2 sweet little boys tends to drag things out too.
And what the heck, as long as it's self-pimpage time: If you just can't wait for the next chapter of Fair Ex, you can always go buy my book. It's not HP or fanfic but it's got that Fawkesy snark (in spades) It's here: www.turondo.com Warning: there's a bad word in the title.

I simply love this story and can't wait for more.

Yay!! *happy phoenix dance*
This curse is quite intriguing. I like the Slytherin way Severus tries to get informations.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Thanks! It's taken on a whole AU of its own but I think it works.
I almost yelled at my computer screen.? I can't wait for more.?
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Cool! Well, it's coming.
Tactless Severus: why am I not surprised? Great characterisation, great dialogues, great work.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Thanks! Like McG said, Azkaban did nothing to improve his temperment.
Grrr.... must wait for next chapter to find out what 'Black Lightning' is and why Snapey is shocked at it. Why doesn't someone tell him all about Pendragon's "stuff" like you would at a New Employee Orientation? Is this curse also what hides her from being seen in the dark? BTW, does Severus make potions for the infirmary and that Pendragon might take for her condition? Thanks for updating!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Hee hee! If I answered all your questions, there'd be not much left for the story! But I don't think anyone would discuss Pen's "issues" at a staff meeting--her handicaps are her own business and most wizards seem to have a secret or two... As for the rest: Patience, grasshopper, all will be revealed.

Grasshopper: Chirrp! Chirrp!
In spite of me being a very die-hard HGSS shipper, I'm hooked by your story so far. It's well written, the characters are believable. An enjoyable read.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Thanks! And you needn't worry--at this point, all that I envision between SS and Pen is friendship. I'm not planning on bringing Herms into this story, other than in reference. You might enjoy my 'shippy fic, "Fair Exchanges," however...
Response from septentrion (Reviewer)
I'm already a reader of that story.
Great start, and I'm wondering how Potter deals with Slytherins without hating them. Umm, I hate to ask, but.... would it be possible for you to post longer chapters? Seems like I just barely get settled in for a good read when it's all done. Thanks!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Hem hem *wink*... Well, I'll give it some thought--these are turning out pretty short, even for me, but that's sort of my habit. I like to read short chapters when I go fic-hunting, so I tend to write them too. The chapters get a bit longer later in the story--it's just that the intro material switches topics pretty quickly.
Nice style, and a very interesting beginning. Looking forward to more!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Thanks! This is a bit different from my usual writing, so I hope I can pull it off.
A lovely beginning.? I can't wait for more.?
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Thanks! That reminds me, I need to post Ch. 2!
WONDERFUL STORY, I HAVE ENJOYED EVERY TWIST & TURN! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. (AND HURRY PLEEEAASSE!!)
That was beautiful, I love the ending of this chapter.
I feel so sorry for Snape. There may be ways to come by food and clothes, but the worst is the hate and mistrust that he meats in every single person, until he meets this kind lady.
Another excellent story in need of an ending, you keep doing this to me! a pox upon thee! Actually, I take that back, a pox would just mean I'd have to wait even longer for updates to this, Heirs and Fair Ex! Just update something, pretty please with sugar on top, I'm dyin' out here!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
I'm trying, I swear--I've been cruising on Heirs, just not on chapter 37! That may end up being the last one I write, sadly...
Alright you...get off your arse and get this story done. It is torturing me.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Sigh... I wish I could get ON my arse once in a while. I'm trying desperately to finish Heirs of Slytherin because I'm not going to read DH until I finish writing it! Believe me, my torture is worse.
Response from Bindi (Reviewer)
You haven't read it yet???
I like that Snape... after his broken heart at the deaf, blind, and disabled... is going to actually demand something of Pen that will help her in the long run. A question though... autistic people generally don't like brightly colored places it bothers them... why does Pen like yellow?~*~SeleneAngel~*~
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
I pictured it as a sort of dull banana yellow, not a bright, glowing sunny yellow. But I think she would like yellow and other light colors just because they're so far removed from Black.
Harry is not going to like the fact that Pen likes Severus that way, is he??
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Oooh, I really don't think so. Most definitely not.
Wow, this is quite a story. Added to my Favorites. Pen's gonna love that special sheet music.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
You think? I imagine she'd resent it--because it would force her to accept her injury, which she's obviously trying hard to deny.
I can see the attraction; but the two of them together seem so brittle.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Heh--that's definitely a word for it. Well, more to be revealed...
Snape's right about Harry's misplaced anger and hatred--better spent on Pettigrew (if it must).
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Old habits die hard, huh?
these Lightning spells are really formidable and quite scary.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Cool! That's just what I wanted them to be!
now we're getting somewhere.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
A few mysteries sorted out, hmm?
masterful. I just can't stand to see Snape walking around like a beggar when he paid his dues and got his old job reinstated. the stuff about the music written for left hand is enlightening (didn't know about that!)
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Yah, it's interesting stuff.
dude, Snape could've carried some sandwiches from hogwarts (shrunken) in his pocket? And he doesn't know any warming or drying charms?? What is up with that. (I guess he really deteriorated mentally back in AZ. . . )?
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
Well, I suppose he could have brought some shrunken stuff, but this was more dramatic. He goes for drama, after all. As for Charms--well, I don't know that Snape was much into "silly incantations and foolish wand waving," unless they involved either hexes or Dark Arts. And you CAN forget a lot in 50 years.
wondering what *that* was about.. .. About Harry--how come he doesn't have a tribe of little Potters by Ginny (or anyone else, btw)? What happened to her and their romance?
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
I think Harry got a little PTSD after the war...and then more is explained later in the story.
whoa. she (Pen) sounds like a really cool and interesting woman/witch/person, even though I still believe that HG/RW is still a Really Bad Idea (and a ship I loathe). I hope that Severus can help her, if anyone can.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Private Lessons)
I think she's pretty cool, albeit seriously damaged.
