This story is inspired by a one-shot that was written by Melisande88 by the name of I Don't Dance, But Thanks for Asking. However, this story will be multiple chapters. Hermione is given a choice between two dares. She steps up to the challenge and discovers that Professor Snape knows how to dance... Rated for later chapters.

I first got into the Harry Potter stories because of my daughter, who was a diehard fan. I have since become a fan myself. Even in the sense that I find my brain constantly asking the eternal question, What if... Add that together with my addiction to romance, and now you see how I pass my time.

I think I will always still be writing HP fan fictions...Even though they do tend to develope rather slowly. (sorry for that) I love these characters too much to just let them stay in the pages of JKR's novels, and Warner Brother's movies. Too much fun. If the day ever comes when I find other writers are playing with my original characters.... I will be so honored.

The ending was cute. You know, that might work to his advantage later, if they were to leave the room for a quick stroll around the grounds, say, and the dress suddenly disappeared. *smirk* Good thing he warned her. (Good thing she was in her room.)

This is great. I was about to ask if there any chance this was finished on another site, but I noticed you told another reviewer where to look for it.
One must wonder where you are taking this story. I am enjoying it. So where every this may lead I am sure to follow. Have fun writing and I will have fun reading.

Very nice. I can't wait for more. Good for Hermione to see what Ron is doing (yes, I'm not much of a Ron fan).
Don't get me wrong... I LOVE the start of this story, and I can't wait for more!! But when I read this line: "One witch in particular stood in the center of the dance floor, stunned expression on her face as she stared at the palm of her hand where Severus Snape had pressed a kiss into her palm," all I could think of was the Brady Bunch episode where Davey Jones kissed Marcia on the cheek and she vowed never to wash her face again!! LOL!!Good work... can't wait for chapter 2!!Peace!

Tee hee! Funny, but that was actually the kind of image I was wanting to leave. I mean... She's known him this whole time as a straight faced, angry, sarcastic git who never in his whole time as their teacher seemed to have any interests in anything that didn't have to do with their humiliation and such. All of a sudden, he shows her that he not only can dance, but he's very good at it (and enjoys himself to boot...) then invites her to possibly do it again and kisses her palm... 
How would you react? I know i'd be stunned! Thanks for the great review... There should be more up soon!SD

Hi there! No... this story is NOT a one-shot. The story that gave me the idea for it was. It has a second chapter already written. It just hasn't made it here yet! Believe me, there will be many chapters to follow this one. I'm so glad you like it!

i read on your next chapter that people gave you hell for the lemons in this chapter. well, i want to thank you. this was believable. no hymen halfway up her vagina like some people write. no severus harvesting buckets of virgin blood for experiments. thanks for not going w/ fandom cliches and actually writing a situation that could have honestly happend.

Hi Irish,I'm so sorry I haven't kept up with my updates on PP. Dare to Dance is finished. Unfortunately, I've been so hard at work on trying to promote my novel (came out in EBook form in Oct.) that I just haven't had the time to keep up with updating, the fan fictions here.
