A big thanks for "Rubbish!"! That was most enjoyable. On another note, that Shriver freak makes me sick. His intent to lure Hermione to DoM to experiment on her in his own wicked games is deplorable. I hope the two Dark-s have something nasty up their sleeves for him. What remains to puzzle me though, is the ghost behaviour. We have a long way to go to settle all accounts, I hope.

*grins* You're very welcome for "Rubbish!" Didn't get to this before posting next chapter, obviously, but that ghost factor settles out in Chapter 36. *smiles**waves* Happy re-reading - I'm glad the story's revealing more of its secrets during a re-read - I'd hoped so! :)~ Ari

Oh what a bastard.
I do believe Hermione spoke to much. I hope she didn't reveal all of her hand.Tense chapter, very enjoyable.
I've also spent my Labor Day catching up on this wonderful tale . . I've been holding off on looking at updates since around chapter 10, saving it for a treat. And you do not dissapoint! You are really the most incredible writer, weaving another story of mystery, love, the Dark, and my favorite characters. Very original, completely unique. I adore the little Hufflepuff ghost, and the dragon she restored. Go Hermione!

wonderful update. thanks so much
Well, I am done with this, having stayed up well past my bedtime last night because I could not put it down.
I am absolutely thunderstruck by the quality of this fic, and I'm a hard person to impress.
Unbelievable.
I am sick with how good this is.
OK, I'm reading this offline, which is why I haven't been posting chapter-by-chapter reviews. But I just had to come in here and post one.Which is: God in Heaven, but this is a beautifully written, profound, spare, breathtaking work. I am totally humbled. Christ Almighty. That's all.

Gosh, this is an interesting intro! So curious to get to know you really interesting Hermione better! Thanks for sharing!
I went back a few chapters to read for pleasure ... and indeed it was a pleasure. This is one of my favorite stories.

... I cannot wait until RL settles enough for me to return to writing; the story continues to brew in my mind and I hope it continues to please you.
Until then, I wish you the best of times, as always,
~ Ari

I know exactly what you mean about RL not leaving enough time to write. I look forward to your update, whenever it is, and hope everything is going well!
I had to read this chapter again. The imagery was beautiful, Minerva's death almost romantic ...
my head is a-whirl...what a densely packed story. thanks so much and i look forward to further updates.
I spent the first many chapters wondering what the heck was going on...I have reached this chapter...the final one that to date has been posted and I realize I still have no effing clue as to what is going on...The story is beautifully written and I love the mystery of it all but could you please give me some indication of what is really happening? Yeah, I understand Hermione has dipped into the Dark and yeah, I get that Snape is the only one to help, but there is too much other stuff that I dont get and twenty chapters in you'd think I got some of it! Am I just dim?? The lilttle ghost...I think I have her figured out, the fact Neville showed up..latching onto that...what I dont get, is the one time statement of Ron being forced into Harrys head and now does Ron see what Harry is doing...thats confusing me a lot. And WHY the HECK is Hermione bleeding from the skull?? ARGGGHHH!!!
Its good tho...
Response from Ariadne AWS (Author of No Loyalty in the Moonlight)
Hi, Sirius Lives...
No, you're not dim! The answers to the little ghost aren't there yet. Hermione's not bleeding from the skull! Snape bit her neck, and she just lost her virginity. No skulls. Promise.
Hermione stuck part of Ron's soul into Harry's scar to drive Voldemort out. No one knows whether there's any of Ron's consciousness in Harry at this point - Hermione doesn't, Snape doesn't, and it's pretty safe to assume that Harry has no idea what Hermione did.
You're not dim. The answers to those questions aren't there yet. The perils of posting a slowly-developed psychological (and maybe theological? questions-of-the-soul) mystery over several months.
Glad you're enjoying the ride, though. Answers will happen, or at least become less of a problem, as the story concludes.
Thank you for your review! ~ Ari

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea how that thrills me!!! Then the pink stains on the pillows are not blood...hummmm, that just makes me wonder more!!
Response from Ariadne AWS (Author of No Loyalty in the Moonlight)
Oh, the pink stains! Okay... Hermione keeps brushing her hair over her ears when she has red ink all over her hands from marking student essays - so she gets ink on her face, by her ear... Severus sees her do it and it reminds him of how the Weasleys all blush in their ears; it's part of what makes things click for him as he's figuring out what's going on. The pink stain on the pillow is that she cries in her sleep whenever she has that dream about how Ron died, and the tears wash the ink stain down through her hair and onto the pillow. It's dream imagery combined with a weird psychological "tic" that's only useful to someone as observant as Severus - and the house-elves, who have a weird sense that there's something honorable but deeply secret in Hermione's past, as they, too, know about keeping secrets. Does that help? *waves*
Response from SiriusLives (Reviewer)
YES!! I feel slightly foolish...for not figuring it out!
He is the only one who can save her.
This is too good to stop reading to leave a review.
What a dark and beautiful work of art you are weaving. Well done.
Your writing is so complex and well constructed, it is a pleasure to read.
Ariadne, I *love* your work. It reminds me of a long-abandoned Snapefic written a while back..
Un livre des herbes foncées or A Dark Herbal
by The Stars Hold Nine Serpents. I was devastated when it was left undone-- You write just as eloquently. Thank you for such a lovely read. You've got intrigue, darkness, romance, and lovely character development. Yours wickedly,

I was chomping at the bit, so I went ahead and caught these last few chapters over on Fanfiction.net, but I much prefer reading it here...thanks for updating this neck of the woods. This is really a beautiful bit of business. Fanfictions tend to be a cobbling-together of different events people wish had happened in a particular book or movie or whatever. This isn't like that...when reading it, one gets the feeling that it is a real STORY, meaning that it's not unfolding according to what you wish had happened in the series; it's simply unfolding the way it must, because that's what stories do.I'm really looking forward to the next chapter.
More hard decisions lie ahead I think, at least Severus is helping her.
