A very intriguing beginning...I've never read any fanfic with Narcissa playing a prominant role, so to me, the story is refreshing.  Can't wait to see how it develops.

Excellent! I swear the characterizations are great... Narcissa seems just like she did in HBP, Bella and Snape too. And now Draco decides to grow a pair! Well, we'll see if he follows through with whatever plan he is conjuring up.I'm curious, when you join forces to write a story, do you each take a chapter? How does it work? Anyway, so far so good. I'm looking forward to the next update.

i love it, something new . I was thinking it was another hg/ss she gets rape and gets a kid but i see something more going and a new start off point..ohhh and have both gifted writers writing this..what a treat in deed.. 8 stars

The interaction inside the Death Eater camp is very realistic (as far as someone can tell) and also the troubles between Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny.  Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful update! It's nice to see Draco and the boys getting along better. It's about time Harry analysed his feelings and maybe, just maybe, this recent incident with Hermione will help Ron grow up.

Now, if only we could find out more of what Snape is up to...

I can so sympathize with Hermione.  I've only taken care of babies that young once or twice, and never a preemie, and yes, it is terrifying that something could go wrong if you close your eyes for a second.  I like her thought process on the name, too.  Good to see the boys starting to sort themselves out back at the ranch, with very realistic rough bits.

You just don't realize how much your life changes when you become a mother.  Hermione's perspective on life will be different.  She certainly seems to be bonding with the baby and the baby to her.  Harry finally realizes that he does love Ginny--there's a breakthrough.

SW's Response: To be honest, she'll be with Eilena for the long haul. That might sound a bit odd, but she'll get attached to the baby and think of her as her own. She'll just rearrange her life to fit that change. :) Glad you like it! :)

Poor Hermione, what was that about not sleeping while the baby is in you're care, I know many women, myself included, who would be passed out in the floor from exhaustion if they didn't cat nap frequently during caring for their babies. I know it was difficult to sleep when the babies were new, but that part just seemed so snapelike, and really made me disappointed in snape. Lovely chapter as always though, can't wait for more.

SW's Response: I wrote the part with Hermione and Snape and was drawing from my own personal experience. I didn't feel comfortable sleeping at all and stupidly tried to stay awake all the time unless someone like my mother or hubby was there to watch him. I was extremely paranoid about SIDs, having had a friend who lost a child to that. Sure, I would doze off, but only in spurts and while he was sleeping (in his crib right next to my bed where I would startle awake ev ery couple of minutes to make sure he was breathing and still on his side). And I don't think Hermione was too exhausted. She was only sitting with the baby for nine hours and reading most of that time anyway, though getting a bit sleepy at times.

I don't see why Snape, as a new father who knows nothing about babies other than what he's  reading in his books, shouldn't be concerned and worried about sleeping (not hearing the baby's cries while he's sleeping or for her to stop breathing and him not notice b/c he's snoozing). The child was born early, and last chapter I stated that he was told to keep a close eye on her to make certain she didn't stop breathing or anything. He  got his sleep once Hermione was there, and she's about to get some sleep as well. Yes, exhaustion is a good word for how a new mother or father feels. He was utterly exhausted. They will be taking turns caring for the little one while she is there, so she's not gonna stuck with it all on her own.

You said it "seemed so snapelike, and really made me disappointed in Snape." I'm not sure what you mean. I took it you meant to say unSnapelike and was disappointed, but now I wonder if you were disappointed that he slept. If the former, well, I'ver tried to explain, but if the latter, I think it's okay to snooze if someone you trust is watching over your child.
