I like how Severus has changed in this story.  Him laughing is always a treat.

Molly is totally clueless.  Did she see what Ron did?  Sure it was a misunderstanding:  Ron misunderstanding that hitting people and leaving them bleeding is a bad thing, not a good one.

That's a lovely introduction to the masses.

I hope that's the last Hermione has to deal with Ron.  (Probably not, since with out an antagonist what's the point of a story?)

Author's Response: It was great to meet you as well... All my friends thought I was alittle nuts at Portus, squeeing everytime I met an author that I enjoy reading, but I did it everytime, but after you I did try to tone it down just a bit.

Despite not being a massive Ron fan, I completely disagree with your portrayal of him. He may be brash, quick to anger and not completely rational or considerate of others, but he is not the abusive rapist that you made him out to be. I realise that this is a coping method for dealing with your past, but to vent your anger on Ron, who is so undeserving of it - is terrible. I don't agree that "Hermione and Ron seem to be headed in the same direction" but I accept creative license for what it is and honour your view.

Oh my!  I just want to say that I really enjoyed this story.  It was very touching and although different, it was very believable.  Thank you so much for writing it.

aww... what a happy ending to a rather frightening story. i really enjoyed your story. though you put ron in a bad place, it doesn't seem as out of character as i thought it would be... after being such an adamant fan of the hermione/ron ship i was surprised to find that i rather enjoy the hermione/severus ship. can't wait to read another of your stories.

This was a pretty good story.  I don't think you captored the essence of an abused woman quite right, but then I wouldn't want anyone to really understand that pair of shoes.

Good for you for getting out, and for the bravery of putting something so personal and damned hard to revisit into a work of fan fiction.  It was a worthy effort, and I hope you continue to write.

I was interested in the battered wife syndrome, but once you turned Snape into a Buddhist in the "hills" of Tibet, you lost me.  Sorry.  Can't see it.

I truly loved this fic.  I think that it was very gutsy to put so much of yourself into a story like this.  I think that your fic was very effective.  Not only was it beautiful and entertaining, but it also shared a strong message about abusive relationships.  Well done!  I am sorry to see it end.

Let me start by saying: I have enjoyed this story very much even though the subject matter is heavy. I'm truly sorry anyone/you ever had to go through something like that. I'm actually impressed that you have been able to write about it so honestly. I'm glad the story portraits hope. Hopefully that is an indication that you too have made it to the other side.Even if you don't do it for therapeutic reasons I hope you will continue wrtiting (hopefully within the fandom so we can continue to enjoy your stories).

Writer or not, you put your heart into the story and it shows. Maybe you should give writing another go, just to prove one way or the other... pffft, professional. So you think we're professional readers?

It was a wonderful story. The ending was a little abrupt but... a wonderful story. I have suffered through many traumas myself in life. RP and writing *is* a great way to work through it. You go girl.

This is a very touching story. I had a feeling it was written by someoe who lived the nightmare.  I also had an abusive relationship at least I got out before marriage. But to this day I have problems trusting men. I seem to find the wrong ones for me.   I am now raising a daughter from one of those mishaps.   The relationship stunk but I will never regret having her.
