I know this story has been finished for years, but I've just read it. It was an incredible journey. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed the story. It was an incredible journey for me as a writer as well, and I'm always so happy when someone reads and enjoys it.
Quiet possible the best fic I have ever read. Absolutely amazing

"To say you are unworthy of love is to tell me I’m not worthy to know the difference.” .. And with that line, you made me cry.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you. It always sound a little cruel to say you are happy to make someone cry, but I hope you understand! ;)

oh how awful! I'm glad they have each other. Excellent chapter. I can't say I'm sorry to see Sirius go. Disgusting pervert!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you - I feel a little guilty now that I made him such a rotter, but he always struck me as a little unstable, and he was very cruel to Severus in their youth.

Oh, Teddy, wonderful, wonderful dynamic chapter! I think I wrote before somewhere that you're moonlighting as a James Bond screenwriter--just excellent action & pace! Well, I won't say that I wouldn't be happy if that were the last that we've seen of Sirius in this tale, especially after experiencing what he had planned for Hermione... But the possibility of Dolohov and/or Sirius reappearing--yeah, you write it, I'll read it!:-)xxx
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! I can't tell you how happy your comments made me. Action is difficult for me, so to know that I gave it good pace makes me hope for future chapters!

excellent. Poor Snape, I'm glad Hermione could send her patronus.

Mmmn.... Love the pacing of the narrative between Severus and Hermione; Voldy in action, poor Severus--he can never be fully protected in that circle; Voldy's such a loose cannon--glad the blood bond between Severus & Hermione is in action, helping to be deepen their bond in many ways--great chapter!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! This bond is really the cornerstone of this story. I'm really glad you like it.

*whew* so glad that Hermione set things stright with Harry regarding the true nature of his godfather, even though it wasn't received the way it should--loved Severus' purging and direct scene with Dumbles--ha! That put the old man in his place and allowed Severus' some release on some level--great chapter!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you! I always thought that Dumbledore had him so convinced he was worthless and unlovable so he would remain under his thumb. Everytime I think I'll try and sympathise with the old man, I think of him saying, "I'd prefer not to place all my eggs in one basket, especially one that dangles on the arm of Lord Voldemort."Grrr.

Oooh, after that divine scene between Severus and Hermione, Sirius would have to fuck it up with his accusation revealed to Harry & co--uff! great chapter!

I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to respond. Between RL and Con, I'm so far behind, but I really appreciate your kind words and for reading my fic!

Oooh, just when I thought Severus would get away with really putting Sirius in his arrogant dicky dick prick place--guy to guy bravado being flexed, which poor Sev has barely ever, if ever, been able to do-- Hermione had to overhear it!:-( Which way will it go for him? Glad she gave Sirius a disdainful look at the end--maybe there's hope then? Great chapter!

Thanks so much! Yes, nothing like a little awkward scenario to really make you proud of yourself! ;)

I love everything about this chapter, especially the way you write with such confidence and surety. And that you can be just that little bit filthy.*nods*

Well, he is a Manc boy. It's not a pretty world out there for him, so I like to make him a little crude. It's part of his charm. ;)

You know, even if Dumbledore didn't actually act like this in the books, the results of his actions are pretty much the same. I wonder if Rowling ever winces when she remembers stating that he represented all that was good in the wizarding world. he and Voldemort are very much two sides of the same coin. Also, yay! for enthusiasm!

Whoo! I'm gone for just a couple hours and come back to all these lovely reviews! Thank you!! Yes, Dumbledore isn't my favourite either. I think he treated Severus abominably.

Voldemort allowing their marriage? Is it me, or is he a bit of a romantic at heart? Death threats to them and their unborn child excluded, of course...
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
I don't think he's too romantic, just scheming and creepy ;)

This is powerful stuff! I adore Hermione's determination to make things right - in the last chapter she told Severus she would take on his scars if she could and here she's literally doing it, knowing full well what it might mean. I know you wrote this chapter to chapter, but the arc you've created is just genius. If anything was going to persuade me that muses are real, coherent and conversant beings then I think this story would be it.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
I think you just made my Muse very happy, and humbled me into the dust. Thank you.

Love Hermione standing up to Dumbledore--ha! Pomfrey is a very wise, perceptive mediwitch--glad she's in charge! And love it more that Hermione is left alone with her professor!xxx

Thank you so much, sweetie! After all, wouldn't we all like to be alone with him as much as possible?? ;)

The first half of this chapter is just delicious. You can write smut beautifully, but these chapters where they are lovers in every sense without actually having sex, are your masterstroke, I think. If I though I'd get away with it, I'd steal whole paragraphs from you and keep them for myself.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you, thank you, thank you. What a beautiful thing to hear from a fellow writer. Bless you for that.

I think it's this chapter when you realised that - no matter what happens - they're in this together. It makes a certain something you throw at us later all the harder to cope with. And the bit just after that as well.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Yes, Tally sent me a drawing of them in the burned out home, with their eyes full of tears. It's so special to me. Her Severus has the most beautiful expressive and sad eyes I've ever seen.

I'm guessing Snape did to Dolohov all the things he wanted to do to Sirius but couldn't. It's an uncomfortable reminder that he is willing to reach any depths if he feels it's necessary. I can't remember if Hermione ever finds out, but I'm wondering what her reaction would be if she did.Sterling work, as ever though, Teddy!

Thank you! I know many found this chapter hard - but he is/was a Death Eater, and had to do a lot of things in his life. This unfortunately was one of them. He would do worse before it was over :)

I sort of like Sirius in canon - of course he's going to be emotionally and socially underdeveloped after 12 years of having any happiness sucked out of him. However, in this story, I can quite cheerfully admit to be being very happy he's dead!
“She will never be made to feel unattractive because of it.”
“No, I don’t suppose she will.”
*sniff*

In a way, I'm glad I've read this before - I'm not sure I could take the threats to her parents, her spilt from Harry, or the idea that she might be taken before Voldemort all over again without knowing the outcome. Not that I know the full outcome. Really looking forward to that new chapter!

You know, I'm quite happy reading this and knowing what you're going to do to Dumbledore. Couldn't happen to a nicer person...Ah, oh! That kiss!
