Reviews for Lay Me Low
I love your Hermione. She is strong and courageous and a teenager. And a Gryf. :) What Snape went through makes me physically ill. Off for a cookie and the next chapter.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you, sweetie! What kind of cookies??
Response from Cybrokat (Reviewer)

Yum!!! *sneaks a couple off the plate*
Sneaking in a bit of reading in the bath! Already intrigued and I want to punch Sirius.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Oh, go for it. I'll hold his arms...
I'm completely enthralled and I have to go to sleep. Dammit! And damn Dumbledore!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! I'm sorry I missed your comment earlier - The way that TPP 'does' reviews means that, if I'm in a hurry and don't pay attention, I will miss some of them. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate them. I'm so glad you are enjoying it!
Whuuuuuuuuuuut????*faints*

*passes the smelling salts*
Woah.Once again, the way you've re-written the smallest bits of canon work so beautifully!! I love all of this - the encounter with Draco, the fight, Hermione's bright idea, the infirmary, Harry and Hermione making up, and then Severus and Hermione finding comfort in each other. Amazing chapter!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you! It's amazing to me when I read these older chapters - I was just taking Dahlra's dictation, and he was shocking me!
Eeeek! What is SHE doing in Myrtle's bathroom?!?!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Hee Hee!! The plot thickens!
Again, I commend you on the way you are skilfully going behind-the-(canon)-scenes, sometimes filling in blanks, other times giving alternate explanations. Like here, sadly, with the alternate story about Hermione's parents. I love that Hermione had such a wonderful open relationship with them, especially with her mother, and am sad that we only get to see that in her memories. *sniffI also love that Hermione's relationship with her parents has ended up benefitting her relationship with Severus. And I don't just mean the great, informed sex, although that can't be denied! But I think that her directnes came from her parents, and helps to avoid and to clear up misunderstandings as well as helps her express her love for him, and in return, his for her.*sigh... back to Hogwarts...
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you! I have always said that I love a Severus and Hermione working together, not working against one another. These stories where Severus treats her like garbage and she keeps coming back for more just don't ring true - even I'm not that big a masochist! ;)I wanted their relationship to be a realistic one, granted not always easy, but one they could build upon together.
I'm not sure how I feel about Hermione's room having been Severus' long ago - not that it changes it in any way for her or for them now, just another reminder of the Master Bastard Manipulator. (grrr)Oh, what a beautiful closing scene for this chapter! - even before getting to your author's note, I knew you were referring to Sempra's wonderful art - I can't remember if you or she first told me about Hermione's hair expressing it love for Severus. - the assurance that their love is so much deeper than skin deep, although their scars do bear witness to their lives, and some are certainly evidence of their character strengths- "more than Lily" YES! So important for BOTH of them to recognize and express this truth.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you! I knew one of the things I had to do in this story is keep Lily 'there', but to put her into her proper place in his heart, so that Hermione could be in her proper place. With canon showing Lily as Severus' entire universe, that's a challenge! ;)
Oh Teddy what a wonderful, fantastic ending to an absolute classic. And a much more enjoyable camping trip than the one meted out by Jo. I was almost able to taste those exotic spices and I am definitely not a spice girl. Delightful story and from the heat and humidity of Davenport Florida, I will definitely look forward to re-reading this when the snows come back to Lancashire.....next month if the weather forecast is true. We went to Hogwarts ( Universal Studios ) a couple of days ago and Mr Ali actually bought me Sev's wand....pity it wasn't the phallic one....ooer Missus....I am naughty. I have to admit the detail etc was staggering. You should be really proud of this one Teddy......and I particularly liked that you didn't rush the ending in any way. Right talking about rushing... got to go....and take over my shift at supervising the little ones in the pool. Best wishes and lots of love.....your not so far away mate, Ali xxxxx.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Ali! I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner - somehow I missed an entire group of reviews and yours was one of them! No, you weren't too far away! It sounds like you had a marvelous time.Thank you for your lovely comment about the story. I didn't want to rush the ending, but I knew this was when it did end, and I hoped that all the readers like yourself who had followed the story from the beginning with encouragement and patience would find it a good end.
Dear Teddy - I'm sorry I'm not reviewing every chapter, but when I've got the time to read, I can't stop! I only want to click to the next chapter, the next chapter, the next....I love the way your story parallels canon. And as hard as the scenes where Hermione is being mistreated by Sirius are to read, they're done so well. I know Sirius in canon is meant to have a good side, but I honestly think that his own egotism and bullying side were only exacerbated by Azkatraz. You show us the nasty core I think is indeed in him, unencumbered by his weak attempts at decency that he pulls out for Harry or Albus. I really want Severus and Hermione to throw vials at Dumbledore containing thier memories of Sirius true nature. Oh, and speaking of the all-powerful puppet-master, I LOVED Severus' ultimatum, and dream of more scenes like that where Dumbledore would be forced to admit his prejudices: his repeated refusal to treat Severus as anything more than a tool, his treatment of certain Gryffs as golden, BOTH in spite of all sorts of evidence to the contrary.(Your writing has a distinctive ability to stir me up! :D)Onward!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Chris! I am sorry I'm just getting around to answering your posts - somehow I missed a whole group of reviews, and yours were in the group.Thank you for your wonderful comments. I don't have a lot of respect for Dumbledore as a person, and hence I don't give my characters a lot of respect for him, either. I actually got spanked by a reader for having Severus calling him a 'poof' and a 'poofter', but that is how a British man (especially a Northern British man) would call it, and so did I. And while I don't normally hate Sirius, I had to show his weaknesses here, because like you I believe he had them.
Just finished your lovely story. Well done. It had everything I like in a good tale. Made me smile, laugh out loud and cry a few tears. Thank you for sharing this with all us fans of Severus and Hermione.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much. I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
Ugh! So hard reading the things Severus goes through, but love the h/c at the other end. She trusted Professor Snape. No one would put themselves through this hell for a cause they didn’t believe in.Really says it all...
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
This is a hard thing to write - the absolute degradation of a character you love. I know it was hard reading at times, but I wanted it to be real enough. War and life is a gritty business, and you can't pretty it up. Well, you can, but it wouldn't be life.
OMG, this is a beautiful beginning! My hatred for this Sirius is a tangible thing, like bile in my gorge, while disgust for those who can't see through/past him - Dumbledore and Lupin the principal offenders - is almost equally as strong.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
While I like Lupin, I always saw him as a bit of a tag-along. He didn't want Sirius to suffer any further; I do believe with all my heart he was in love with Sirius.
Wow. Such an absolutely beautiful close to a heart wrenching chapter!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much!
I am now working my way through the box of tissues on my nightstand...
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Oh, I am so sorry! but I'm glad you kept reading! <3
I can't choose a passage that can truly epitomize this chapter. There are too many amazing scenes that you have beautifully crafted. Have I mentioned how happy I am that this is no longer a WIP?
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Well, I know how happy I am that it's not! ;) And I'm thrilled to pieces that you are enjoying the story. Thank you for your amazing comments!
I don't think I have the words to properly express to you what I feel right now. I was so ecstatic to see that this was finished and I started over from the beginning two days ago. I have cried through these last three chapters, probably through more than that. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this journey has been. Your tales never cease to impress and move me. Well done. Thank you for sharing this, and all you do, with all of us.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much. I don't have the words to express how much your beautiful comment means to me. Thank you for your patience and your time. This story was such an important journey for me; to know that you have enjoyed it so much is more precious to me than I can articulate.
This story from beginning to end has been beautifully crafted. Your personal Muse, he sounds magnificent. I did like the song verses at teh beginning of each chapter , they did add to the story.
This work, has had me laughing and crying. I must admit the battle scenes were horriffic but had to be written and you did a grand job. The "In Between" shudder.
I admit I have bubbled my way through your final chapter. Stands and applauds at this epic. Your time and effort creating this piece, is very much appreciated.
Many thanks for writing and updating.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much. You have no idea how your words have touched me. I am just humbled and thrilled at the same time. Nothing makes me happier than to know someone has read my story and taken their time to write me and tell me about it - and to receive such a beautiful and encouraging review makes my heart soar. Thank you.
I cannot express how much I have loved this story from start to finish. Thank you for a wonderful read. This is in my top five fves of all time. Wonderful, wonderful story.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so very much! I apologise for the delay in responding to your comment - I somehow missed a group of reviews until today! I am so glad you enjoyed it so much!
So I have a question: when Severus tells Hermione everything does that mean he also tells her the truth as to how she really came into play when Voldemort had his torture party?
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
He told her everything. He left nothing out. It was why he felt so bad about it all later; he knew she knew everything.
I am so glad to finally be reading this story! I love the way you have written Severus. His continous battle with his dark side makes his character infinitely more interesting. So many good parts in this chapter.
It never occurred to him that he was not a sex-deprived pervert. He was a loved-starved man.
I guess it never occurs to Severus that he is a brave and good man either, huh?Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
No, bless him. Severus has never been able to understand the good within him. Not that anyone has ever helped him to understand it, unfortunately.
I cannot express how much I have loved this story from start to finish. Thank you for a wonderful read. This is in my top five fves of all time. Wonderful, wonderful story.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
:) Thank you! I think this got printed twice, but twice the love is a good thing! ;)
I have never liked Sirius black, and I don't think I'm going to like this time round, he is a sleaze bag of the worst kind.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Poor Sirius! I would say he's misunderstood, but actually, I don't think he is. At least, not in a positive way..
This has been one of the best stories I've ever read (and trust me, I've read a ton of them.) You've written it so beautifully and it has taken me through the whole range of emotions. I am almost sad to have it be finished, but I know this is a story that I'll be back to read many many times. Thank you so much for writing it.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I can't tell you how much it means to me that you enjoyed it so much.
