Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for this amazing story, I have loved it from the beginning & LOVED the final chapter. I'm glad this story has meant so much to you, it comes over in the fic, please keep writing, I'm a huge fan of all your writing, even if I don't always review! I'm going to start re reading it now!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! I can't tell you how much your comments mean to me. Everyone has been so patient as I finished, and to know that my efforts were enjoyed, well, that's just the best feeling there is. I hope you will continue to enjoy my stories!
Ah Teddy, what a wondrful collection of words you and Dahlra have given us!! Thank you for finishing this labour of love and sharing with us!! Your stories touch a deep part of my heart that I am not always in touch with. You have given me fiction but somehow I am able to relate my own real life struggles to some of your stories. The ability to teach the reader something is not always something a writer can do,but you do that with out even trying! So thank you and know you are loved as are your lovely stories!!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Dee, thank you . I'm sorry to be so tardy in this response, but I somehow missed about 30 reviews and just discovered them today! You are always so incredibly encouraging, and I am so happy that not only are you a reader but have become a friend. Such is the magic of fanfiction - it brings people together in a way they never would have done without it. Your friendship and encouragement mean the world to me!
Thank you for this wonderful story, Teddy! Time for a re-read!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! I'm tickled pink that you enjoyed it.
That was incredible. Start to finish, truly, it was amazing. From the house elves and the spiders to the dragons swooping in, it was really beautiful, despite being fairly horrific. Nymphadora's loss and Minerva's were both stunningly tragic, and I mean that in the best way possible. And really, having Bellatrix just gutted is fairly satisfying.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! This was the toughest thing I've ever written - it took me almost a year just to get up the nerve to try to write it! LOL That you enjoyed it is music to my soul. This was sort of one of those chapters that, after it was over, I felt like, 'well, if you can write this, you can write anything!'
Bravo Teddy, that's all I can say for now as I am speachless at the moment. Bravo, Bravo, Bravissimo!!!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Oh, Thank you! That's wonderful! :)
One of my least favorite parts of any fanfic is this battle. Because I've read it a thousand times, and sometimes different people are spared and such, but ultimately, it ends the same way. So, I'm pleased that you've made this a bit different. That is what always saves me from the agony of another battle scene. Having Severus outside, and Hemione inside, but sharing a connection made it much easier to tell the reader what was going on in both locations without having to jump all over the place. I like that you kept Neville's badass moment. He is such a likeable character who grows so much from year one to year seven. Even though this story isn't about him, I'm glad he had his moment to shine. I also like that Hermione and Bellatrix had another go, but this time the victory was sweet. Well, as much as it can be amid death and destruction.Still, my favorite thing in all of this in the inbetween. It is a cool concept, and gives another element to this battle. And while Severus and Hermione are my primary concern, I do hope Harry doesn't bite it. We shall see.I am both thrilled and dismayed that the next chapter is so long. *contemplates ability to read it tonight* Oh, what the heck ...
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you as always for taking the time and writing such amazing comments. In all honesty, you have stgulik to thank for Neville. I had actually intended for Neville to take Severus' place in the 'senseless death' category, but she begged for his life, and like the beneficent omnipotent being I was, I spared him! (It's good to be the king!).In all seriousness, she was right as usual, and I'm glad I listened to her, as I have been so many times in the working of this story. The battle was daunting to write - it took me almost a year to get up the nerve to try to write it. I asked another writer, who wrote a beautiful battle for her fanfic, and took her advice: write it the way you would want to see it happen. Simple, but tough as well!
Well my Teddy, the battle was wonderful and sad! I too am sorta liking the Reg/Severus ialways want Hermione in the story cause Severus is such a MAN that I always want him to love a little puntane too!! Ah Teddy what more can I write? You know how I feel about your brilliance!! Thanks to stgulik for keeping you going. We are lucky the readers of fan fiction to have talent such as ya'lls and you should be reminded often!!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much, Dee! I really appreciate your kind words. Don't you worry, Severus and Hermione have lots of time together yet!
Darn it Teddy, a tissue alert would be a big help the scene between Severus and Remus, Norberta and Charlie and the elves....I can see the scenes playing out in my head!! Well worth the wait! Back to finishing up this chappie!! Hugs~dee

This chapter made me cry.....*shakes fist* you bad, wonderful writer!!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Awww, *passes tissue* Thank you, sweetie!!
A great battle and encounter with "Death" Well done! I hope you dont mind me saying this, but I would like to see Reg one more time in this story. It has been such a beautifull and heartbreaking side-story. Thanks for sharing!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! I am thrilled that the battle went well! I agonised over it for almost a year, trying to write it. The story of Reg and Severus has also captured my imagination. It's one of the few slash stories I will read. In fact, I am trying to write a short time-turner Severus/Hermione/Reg story, but I have a couple more things sitting on the list before it.
Am I crying? Bugger. Yes, I'm crying. Beautiful chapter, Teddy! I loved Tom's finale, especially his devilish little speech!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)

Teddy, I do so love the ride! Beautiful chapter!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much! Whew! Can you believe it's almost over?
have not read it yet, just wanted to say YAY!! I come home from packing and moving and NO computer for a week to my favorite writer, updating thanks Teddy for ending the week on a high note!! Hugs~dee
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you sweetie! I hope your move went smoothly, and that you settle in well and enjoy the weekend!
Blimey Teddy that was fantastic. The actions scenes came right into my head as I was reading them....so descriptive. And what an original plot device putting Voldemort et al into a new, hidden dimension. Could it act like a "Veil" perhaps and/or then the means to enter it be destroyed so that they could never be released? Now then......did you sacrifice Minerva for Remus....in canon perhaps that might have made more sense. But then we could go on for days discussing the injustices of that....but as usual I digress. I always have a dilemma when good stories are coming to an end....I want to know what ultimately will happen but not that the writer will stop.....sigh.....anyway soon will be over the Pond and on my way to Hogwarts. Cheers me dear, Best wishes, Love Ali xxx.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much, Ali. I hoped you would enjoy it. Yes, there are a lot of things that happened in canon that I disagree with - which is why I love writing SSHG! ;) I hope you have a wonderful time at Florida, and safe journeys there and back. Love, Teddy
Another surprise in this chapter...thank you, thank you, thank you for writing Ron Weasley intelligently!! He's a good chess player, so yes he'd recognize the moves Snape and Hermione make. Yes he'd notice that Harry's reports about Hermione had holes. Yes, he knows that people aren't always what they seem. One small difference - Ron is emotionally immature in canon, but I don't think he is here. Also, I really like how you've characterized the Carrows. They're deeply horrible people, and I like that you hinted at incestuousness in their background. Gross. I can see Dumbledores Army running circles around them.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much. I'm not the biggest Ron fan in the world, but I felt that he would be the person who might figure things out. Harry would be too ready to believe the worse, and Neville is a fighter. He wants to be in the fray. It was up to Ron to be the strategist. My skin crawls when I think of the Carrows. I think they're despicable, and it was great fun writing them so vilely!Thank you again for your insightful and thoughtful comments. I really appreciate them.
I think I've restarted my comment about seven times because I'm still in shock, Teddy! Excellent battle, truly. Everything fit so perfectly, even the heartbreaking parts - VERY well done! Thank you for taking the time to write it with such strength - definitely worth the wait!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Oh, thank you so much! *Whew!* This is the chapter I agonised about for almost a year before my dear Muse nagged me into getting started. I'm so happy you feel it was worth the wait. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your kind comment!
Thank you for tackling the subject of a soul being torn apart when a wizard or witch commits murder. Most writers don't touch it, but it's a critical concept in the Potter series. I Find your concept of Between quite plausible. I also quite like Snape's perception of Hermione's reactions after killing Dumbledore. He must have been terribly frightened. Thank you for a startling and complex chapter that nevertheless flows quite well.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much for your amazing comment. I must confess that this chapter owes so much to stgulik, my beta. I had written it very, very differently, and she said to me, "I think you can do better!" Everytime she has ever said this, I knew that I had not really paid attention to my dear Muse, and need to listen to him more carefully. Once this was re-written, I felt in my waters that it was truly what he had wanted me to write in the first place. The Between is I suppose my concept of Purgatory; a place where one is neither alive nor dead; a person creating a Horcrux has no need of it, but a person filled with remorse could possibly become trapped in it.
Just wanted to say I love the difference in tone of voice between Snape's and Hermione's interpretation of their little playacting. It seems to reflect their ages and life experiences. Hermione is a very young woman with somewhat simpler expectations and understandings of the opposite sex. Snape is a much older, jaded, scary piece of work who tries his damnedest to do the right thing. Your tone of voice shows this dichotamy beautifully - you must have worked very hard on it!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and lovely comment. This particular story was a real challenge. I started it solely trusting that my Muse knew where it was headed, and there were times I just had to sit and pick through each and every word. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you have noticed this. Thank you so very much.
Oh WOW! That was worth the wait!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
OH, thank you so very much! <3
Amazing, just...wow! This story is brilliant! Please never ever give up writing! The twist and the turns in the story have left me physically thrilled! Well done! And may I just say that if you created your own original stories, I would happily read every one! Your amazing plot, so well thought out, never predictable! The idea of magic in lovemaking, and the deathly hallows, and the charector developments! You are truly a brilliant author, NEVER STOP WRITING! I can't wait for the end, but at the same time, I don't want it to end! Thank you!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you so much!!! You have just made my decade! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your beautiful comment, and how thrilled I am that you are enjoying the story. I am in the final stages of re-editing my original novel, Her Minder, and it's sequel, The Family, so I do have original work in the pipeline. I love writing fanfiction as well, though. I love writing more than just about anything else on earth, and I hope to be able to continue writing well into my dotage. The next chapter is just about done, so hopefully it won't be too long before the next update - we're nearing the end now, so it will be the culmination of a two year write - but this story has taught me so much about writing, and while I will be thrilled to bring it to its conclusion, I will be a bit wistful that such an important chapter in my own life will be coming to a close.Thank you again for such a wonderful review. It will remain locked in my heart.

I'm so glad that the Granger's have accepted Severus as one of their own. If they hadn't liked him, that would have been one more piece or drama that they do not need.I wondered when it would fully hit Hermione that there could be life after Voldemort and realize that she could be in hot water. You just have to hope that all of the good things she has done will outweith the bad in the eyes of the public and the law.And from here, the chapter just sort of upends everything we know about defeating Voldemort. I loved Luna showing up at the Snape's bedroom door as if sharing a dream was the most natural thing in the world. I look forward to how this all plays out.Psst ... there are no more chapters. I am certain you will fix that ASAP. Don't make me go all capslock on you. :)

Now you know what all the song lyrics have been about! LOL The actual chapter was about twice this long, so the following chapter is about 2/3 done now. I plane to update in July. I'm having a huge resurgence in my Novel's re-write and I want to strike while the iron's hot on it, but never fear - Lay Me Low will be updated very soon.
Response from HBAR (Reviewer)
Well, I want to read your novel too, so as long ad you are working on SOMETHING, I'll be patient. :)
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of Lay Me Low)
Thank you for being so patient. I wish I could just download all this stuff directly from my brain to the computer - what a timesaver!

I love the scene with the killing of the Horcrux. It was kind of brutal, but after it was done, there was sort of a bonding moment between the five of them. And, I think that needed to happen for them to present themselves as a united front to the other order members. And Minerva ... Bless her heart for explaining things, for being honest about the state of affairs at Hogwarts, and for offering to host the battle. :). The end scene of this chapter was very powerful, and it left me with no doubt that the right side will win.

Thank you so much. I actually uploaded this chapter to Ashwinder a year ago - it took me that long to write the next chapter (I promise I won't be so long between this and the next one, though). A friend at the time told me, "Well, at least you left us on a good place." She was amazingly patient with me.

How bittersweet for Hermione to find something she'd lost in her parents, but to lose her husband at the same time. It's too hard to express your joy when you are drowning in grief, but she has good parents who seem to understand. And how shocking and thrilling for her when he returns. You can't blame Harry for being skeptical, but I am glad he's made peace with both Severus and Hermione. By the end of the chapter, all is right with the world. Well, except for the looming war, but that's minor by comparison, right? :)

When I read a story, I have all of these thoughts and feelings in my head. When its time to review, I am never sure that they quite come out on paper how I intended them. Hence the reason I leave the writing to you all, lol. Anyway, I am always afraid that I am going to say something that sounds offensive, or that could be misconstrued. So, just tuck away in your mind the fact that if I ever say something that sounds negative, that is not the spirit in which it was intended. I don't believe you could write a lousy story if your life depended on it. Now, where were we? Oh yes, my comments. This has been a fun read since chapter one. It's been exciting, scary, sweet, romantic, sexy and a million other wonderful things. However, I feel like about five or six chapters ago is when this story really took off. Like you told them that they'd had their fun (or not so fun, sometimes), but now it's time to get down to business, and you scooped them all up, shook them violently, and dropped them. And they hit the ground running, scattering this way and that to fulfil their destiny in this tale. So, while I've loved this from the first word, this last set of chapters have really been the most satisfying. After reading the scene with Reg, I feel like it would have been a tragedy had Severus not "died." I really, really liked their interaction. They came together after all these years as if they'd been apart a day. They both had some closure, and Severus redeemed himself. In his own eyes, because there was nothing for him to make better in his friend's opinion. And the kiss was wonderful. It wasn't romantic or sexual or playful or anything more than a touching of souls. Perfect. And Luna ... you have to love that girl. She is the only one who will take this all in stride. And such playful banter between her and Reg. Why do I know that when Luna's time comes, they are going to be fast friends?Okay, I need to do less typing and more reading. :)

I am typing this response with tears in my eyes. When you said that the last few chapters really took off, I nearly swooned. When I first started writing this story, I had already written a novel, and several other stories. This one fic and all I learned from it, made me sit down and totally rewrite my novel. I'm about 3/4 done with the major (and I mean MAJOR) rewrite, and all because of what this story taught me. Lay Me Low has made me a writer. And every chapter was a lesson, and a blessing, and a gift. Because not only did I learn to write, but it was during this story that I learned the greatest gift of my entire life - that I had a soulmate, a spiritual one, named Dahlra, who is my Muse, and the more I learned about him, the more I trusted his voice, the better I wrote, and the more my creative soul was nourished.I realise that sounds a bit 'away with the fairies', but this is the journey that is Lay Me Low for me. To know that you can see the roadmap of it in the chapters is the most gratifying knowledge, and I will always be grateful to you for taking the time to explain yourself so beautifully and eloquently. I can't tell you how blissful it is to know that you can see the journey, and the moment where my writing, the Muse and I came together in perfect harmony, and it all became a real story to me.In saying this, I will have to confess - when it came time for Severus to kiss Reg, I was having a terrible time with it. Everything I wrote either sounded too sexual, or too patronising. It was Stguiik, that wonderful friend and editor, who gave me the key to writing that kiss, so I have to give her 90% of the credit for it. It really was a beautiful kiss, wasn't it?
