Forty-something, married, Professional Colorist seeks intelligent, scrawny man with misunderstood past. Tattoos a plus, snarkiness a must.
My interests include: Eating, breathing, napping, swearing and chocolate; as well as long, romantic walks from the refrigerator to my computer.
Needed skills must include: Foot massage, adoration, feeding my kids for me and ironing my husband's work clothes, along with sneering, looming, staring at me with desire, and reading whatever I hand you into my ear in a sultry tone.
Reviews for Yea, Though I Walk
I've been with this story since its beginning; I should have reviewed long before now so let me just say it was one of the very best I've ever had the pleasure to read. Severus' character was so believable and open. And Hermione, well love can be a very powerful and binding emotion; I cried a little for what she had to give up for him. But, like she said, it was worth it. I apologize again for not reviewing sooner but in the future, rest assured, I will be reading any story you write and will submit most graciously all reviews. You are an exceptional writer and I look forward to reading more.

I am so very glad you liked it, and deeply appreciative of your review!
What a fab birthday present to wake up and find the final chapter!! Fantastic story, beautifully written as always and a little bittersweet. I loved it. Very much looking forward to whatever you write next xx
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!Thank you for all of your wonderful reviews!
I just spent a very enjoyable time reading your story from start to finish. I came here on a rec from Darnedchild and I'm quite grateful she did.Marvelous ideas and even though I mourn the loss of Hermione's eyes, I feel—like she does—that it was worth it.Wonderful, wonderful story telling. ;)

Thank you so much! I am thrilled you enjoyed it!
*swoon* I didn't know it was possible to fall more in love with Severus. This was a fantabulous fantastical story! I always look forward to when you write something.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
It's funny how we fall for this guy repeatedly, isn't it? One can never fal for him once...
Response from Solaris_Snape (Reviewer)
I know! I've only been falling for Snape, every day for like the past 10 years. The choice of actor didn't help me much, I've been in love with him forever lol. My girlfriends and I like to fake fight over who he belongs to, I still say I'm the most devoted of our bunch lol.I think I will need to put this story on my e-reader for re-reading. I do have to say I could have read this story forever. But... I'd rather you write other Snape stories because I'm greedy and demanding like that. (not so subtle hint there lol)
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
LOL! Fear not, there will be more stories...
what a lovely story you have written. i was so sick of finding stories where the relationship just blossoms out of thinn air and everything is fine and dandy. going into this story, i had no idea what to expect and i can tell you that i was more than please. i couldnt put the story down. i was so drawn into the twists and turns you involved in it and i was absorbed into such a realistic feeling story i was sad and happy to see it end. you did a brilliant job with this and your descriptions throughout te story painted a wonderful picture in my head. thank you for writing such a lovely and original fiction.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I think I am always trying to find a 'logical' (and I use the term very loosely) to get them together. It works against me when I try for a PWP, I always end up ploting on myself becaue having them just 'blossom' grates on me as well.
Wow. Just wow. I am in awe of your talent, even if you did make me cry. Or maybe because of it.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
*hugs you* Thank you, Blue. It's a mutual adoration society, I assure you!
oh man, I read this whole fic in about 2 and half hours last night, I was so tried I had to go the bed before reviewing, but let me tell you I loved it! I wish it had kept going becuase I loved how you developed the charecters, but the way you ended it was brillant. Great job!
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it!
This is one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read. I love how you got them to conquer their communication problems, and I have no doubt that Flitwick will find a way to charm a couple of eyeballs so she can see. Fuck the Demon!Great work.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Oh, thank you! That is incredible praise, indeed!
Loved it! I've been reading a lot less of late but this story pulled me back in. I even cried a few times. Well done.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Thank you! I hope you are back in for the long haul!
I admit I was a bit confused at first when Harry said something very out of place: “I'm asking her, if you don’t mind." I was like… WTH? But I quickly caught on to what was happening and it made my battered heart go pitter pat. *silly grin* Oh, how I wanted to beat the shit out of Ron, seriously. The overwhelming anguish Hermione had at not being able to hear her beloved Severus. GAH! Up the angst notch, why don’t you? Wait, I just think you did. ;) When she started to cry because she couldn’t hear his heartbeat, I nearly lost it.
I knew you’d pull another plot twist out of your wickedly brilliant hat. How clever of Severus to utilize a tape recorder! And even better when they finally decide to make it permanent with his modified version of Legilimens. Yes, it may be invasive, but I could listen to that man’s voice for the rest of my unnatural life and never get tired of it. At least she has that.
There were a ridiculous amount of tears in my eyes when I read Severus’ speech to Hermione on the tape recorder, especially where he says:
“You see, despite all the logical reasons why we don't suit, I'm rather desperately in love with you. I fear no one has ever gone out of their way to make me feel as if I had worth before, and it quite overbalanced my reason. I did my level best to keep my feelings under control—I tried to focus on being a mentor, or perhaps some sort of a beloved uncle, not that I have a clue how to be either—but when I saw you dressed for your new job… Christ, you were so lovely. I was lost.'His voice fell silent for a while. They listened to the background sounds of birds, and children playing, and the occasional sound of a car passing. When his voice came again, it sounded so wistful. 'How stupid to fall in love on one's deathbed.'She heard him fill his lungs with a loud sniff through his incredible nose. 'Of course, I didn’t die, now did I? Because of you, I'm alive and still in love and here you are.Hermione, you said once that you needed to belong, needed to be wanted. I would very much like it if you felt you belonged with me, because I want you very much…”
Egads! That was so fucking beautiful, woman!
And then, to use the cell phones to hear Severus was madly brilliant. Oh, I was just as thrilled as Hermione was that she got to see Severus that one last time, from his perspective.
Aurette, you have by far surpassed yourself. I mean, I loved your work before, but this is beyond the icing on the cake. This is the whole fucking bakery! And I kinda feel like Severus a bit – you took on demons and the Underworld for my prompts! How could I not love that you did that for me? *stupidly silly grin* You took my prompts and ran like you were the winner at the Daytona 500. I only expected one prompt to be filled with aspects of the others, but you went above and beyond, as usual. Once I get my SS/HG fic shipped off to Shiv (today or tomorrow), I start on the first chapter of this stunning piece. I can’t wait to voice all these emotions! Hopefully I’ll do it justice, because honestly, words fail at how much I love my gift.
All my thanks, blessings (just in case ;), and gratitude for all the hard work you put into this.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I will tell you that I had the greatest fun figuring out how to approach this so you wouldn't know where I was going with it. I knocked the haircut prompt out right away ASAP, so I could lull you in. The Bastard!Ron part wouldn't really work. I'm not very good at flat bastards, so I had to do several rewrites before I just cut him out alltogether. He was a bit of a git, but then again, he'd been through a lot. I am really looking forward to your reading. I was thrilled with the teaser you sent me. It's funny how we approach fic differently after having to speak them into a mic. I gave Orlando Switch permission to change my sentences in order to speak them clearly, because I know my love affair with clauses will drive a podcaster around the twist. However, in your case, you must say this line,I've figured out how to erase tape rather well in the ten minutes I've been sitting in this blasted bench mumbling to myself like a git with my brand-new bit of archaic technology. and you must say it exactly that way. Because in the final rewrite (lordy, I was tweeking it while it was still crawling up the queue) I kept intending to change it to make it readible, and kept forgetting. When I saw I had left it in the post, I decided it was meant to be. *snrk*Thank you again, for your lovely prompts. I had mad fun with them.
Response from Darkrivertempest (Reviewer)
I will most certainly do that. Actually, I have procured a tape recorder from my husband and I will record the whole speech on that and then play it back for the actual podfic so it's really a recording of what is supposed to be Severus' voice. :D I forgot to ask, am I the only reading this fic or do you only want me to read certain chapters? Reason I ask is that Miamadwyn was assigning the chapters of one of her stories to several different people. I shouldn't presume I would be the only reading this story, so just let me know. I would dearly love to do the whole story, just FYI. ;) As for keeping me pretty blind like Hermione throughout the whole thing, you nailed it perfectly! But I was always so thrilled to run into one of the prompts that I would squeal while reading it and earn odd looks from those nearby. I like what you did with Ron, though. He wasn't a COMPLETE ASS, but nearly so. I'm glad you enjoyed the prompts, it's not often I find like-minded authors who believe angst is worth it. ;) Well done dearest. Indeed.

Ha! I love the tape recorder idea! You are awesome! Have at it dear, you are the only one on this fic!
Oh my its done then? Are you sure there isn’t an epilogue in you clawing its way out? You know another 5 years into the future where H&S are blissful together, Filus’ charm work has been perfected and our happy couple attempting to babysit for Draco and Lavender?
For the record I am really pissed at the demons and their “balance”. Balance my ass its mean spirited to not allow Hermione to hear Severus. Thankfully demons are not current with muggle technology. Yeah cell phones!
Thank you for another brilliant story my friend. I will miss the chapter update emails. It’s a pretty dry summer with everyone busy on their exchange stories. V sad.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Awww. *hugs you* Well, since we know that alll the exchange fics are due tomorrow, and EVERYONE will be in compliance... We can expect another flood of stories soon! Right?
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
Are you taking a vote? Because I really REALLY like Teddy's idea for a porny one shot
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
LOL! I do too! That's why I gave her a nudge to go write it!
Absolutely incredible ending. Stunning - what a sickening loss, to not hear his voice again, and what a clever Severus to come up with the solution. I love the fact that HE was the one who realised how to solve the problem and, in the immortal words of one Hermione Granger, 'fuck that demon'! A master work of story-telling AND prompt honouring. A super, super story.I'm already putting in my request for a one-shot PWP - of the night after the roast lamb, and What Hermione Heard On The Tape Recorder. Being the voice slut I am, I think you might make my next week if you did that. I'm just sayin'. I'm putting in my request. NO pressure, or anything.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
LOL!!! You know, I am rarely tempted to do a sequel, but that's a good one. I think it would be funner to have you write it, and see where you take it!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Reviewer)
LOL!! I know what you mean about sequels. But, on the other hand, if I did the sequel, I think we know EXACTLY where I'd take it! - the same place you would, without as much finesse and style, of course. :)I'll see what the Muse says... but if I decide to, I'll ask permission first!!
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
LOL! If the muse bites, have at it!
Sad - I always am when a really good story comes to an end, no matter how satisfactory the ending. It means I can no longer look forward to the next chapter coming out. I have loved this story from beginning to end, even being late to work because it has updated and I have HAD to read before leaving the house!
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I'm one of those people that when I come to the end of a good book, I start reading reeeaalllyyy slllooowwly, so as to put off having to say good bye. I'm really tickled that my writing did as much to someone. Thank you!
I had tears in my eyes as the chapter began, and a lump in my throat when you finished. Thank you for including the list of prompts so we could see how ingeniously you wove them into this wonderful story. And ***thank you*** so much for such a fantastic read.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I am thrilled you liked it! It was all the prompts! I just did the weaving!
Thank You for a fantastic story! It's darker than I usually like, but it was beautifully written and had a very nice story-line and character development. And I do like that you managed a (sort of) happy end.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I'm so glad you took a chance on it! Thank you for your review!
What a well thought out story...magnific!
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Thank you!
I'm sitting here playing with an empty tissue box wondering what I am going to do now that this story is done.Hey, I know! I'll wait paitently for your next one.You know with her new eyes Hermione will now fit in perfectly with the wizarding world if they're like Moody's that is, not in a bad way, just in the unique slightly off from center type of way JK intended her hidden world of wizards to be. A world that is accepting of anything but the mundane and un-imaginative, such as muggles. This makes Hermione truly part of the wizarding world now not just a muggleborn straddling two worlds. Thanks to you and your creative team for the cry and for sharing your talents with all of us.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Thank, you, so very much, for your wonderful thoughts and enthusiasm!
That was wonderful. I like the fact that it wasn't all "and they lived happily ever after" as everyone knows that life isn't like that. The fact that they overcame their issues using pretty muggle means shows the melding of their two cultures, their two lives which were so different were improved and enhanced (because of their difficulties) using compromise.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Thank you! I'm pretty sure they will invent their own definition of Happily ever after...
WOW! Yay for Severus finding a way to get one over on the demons and 'the Balancers'. This was one more ride!
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Yar, he wasn;t gonna play that game... I'm so glad you came along for the ride!
Response from sandlapper (Reviewer)
You know, I'll always be first in line for whatever rollercoaster you pull out of that talented imagination of yours!! Looking forward to the next one!
Wow, I am totally blown away. While I was half way expecting the ending to be tragic in some form, I never pictured her not being able to hear Severus in the end. But given Severus didn't have his voice in the beginning, Hermione not being able to hear Severus in the end gave a certain balance to the story. Didn't stop me from sniffling through the realization though! Loved it when Severus found muggle means to communicate with Hermione. And even though you ended it without a miraculous healing, the merging of their minds and hearts was even more powerful because of it.
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I thank you for your wonderful review, and am so glad that you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this story - and I'm amazed by how you fitted all the prompts together!Personally, I would NEVER like to share my thoughts with somebody else (that's a really heavy burden) and I personally think that it's better to keep a certain distance in a relationship, but that's just me. I liked how they twisted the Bardo's balance with Muggle technology (HA!) and imagining them in the same room chatting via mobiles has a lot of charm ;)And despite all the rollercoaster of the second half, I believe that my favourite part of this story is the first half, when Severus was tended at by Hermione in the hospital and they communicated through eyehugs. This doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy the wrestling with demons ;)
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I think sharing thoughts would be a bit nightmarish. Such banal things as, "Wow, he looks like crap in that shirt" would probably not go over well. Nor would, "I don't remember her being this heavy the last time I picked her up." Thank you for all of your reviews, I am so glad you enjpyed it!
Response from cabepfir (Reviewer)
Exactly! And we're not even talking about remembering Voldemort or the dear Sonnellion. :P
What an amazing story, I have loved every bit of it and this last chapter only cemented how great this story is. The demon migth think he won, but of course no demon can outsmart the "know-it-all" and her Slytherin Prince. There is a saying that if the door are closed, look for a window, I think that describes this story perfectly.Very well done, I loved it and are totally looking forward for you to write more:-))
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I like that saying! I'm going to keep it! As for more, I will be taking a nap now...
This has been a fantastic story! Gripping and wonderful from start to finish; thank you so much for sharing!
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
And thank you so much for reviewing! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
When I first read that she could not hear Severus, I have to admit I was furious. (not at you--at the Bardo). It seemed--and still seems--utterly unfair. I realize it was to meet the Demon's demand that she feel pain, but initially even they argued with him that the blindness was enough, and that he clung to and cherished his own pain. It seems that the Bardo merely caved in to the bullying demon, in allowing this to stand....However, I was SO grateful Severus found a way to MAKE his prodigious skills in Legilimency work--I had thought of that early on, but then realized, "Oh, no, it can't work--he has to be able to SEE INTO her mind via her eyes, the windows of her soul--and they are gone." But trust you to find a way around that! How perfect that they are now soul-linked, and closer in mind and heart than perhaps they would have been had none of this price ever had to be paid. Still, I keep hoping that, like our technology, wizarding spellcraft keeps "improving"...(workable "Moody" eyes)...Thank you for a story that kept me on the edge of my seat for weeks. Your writing is always utterly original and utterly un-predictable, and you have my heartfelt awe!
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
I suspect that the Balion Bardo might have been trying to find a way to keep their nexus caught between guilt and happiness. Severus was having none of it. Thank you, neighbor, for all of your fantastic reviews!
Sigh, so sad this is over. I was crushed to realize she couldn't hear Severus. I really thought that their relationship would definitely suffer, but Severus figured out a great way to overcome that, didn't he? One step at a time. The ending was truly beautiful. Their sentiments towards each other were so strong and heartfelt. I loved Severus' last words to her before finalizing their link. Thanks so much for a story with depth, excitement, and the gift of love that Severus... and Hermione... both sought after. Can I choose more than five stars?
Response from Aurette (Author of Yea, Though I Walk)
Thank you so much for all of yoru wonderful reviews!
