Reviews for Making Happy
How dumb am I? I didnt realize Harriet was named for Harry. UGH that little clue was hiding in plain sight wasnt it?
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
It was indeed! lol... I am surprised no one has brought it up, to be honest. thanks for reading x
ngaw... i love it and i hope this part of the story never ends!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
lol... imagine that... Thanks for reading :D
What a lovely reunion. Looking forward to learning how life will be for everyone now that the vow has been lifted and they're starting to pursue the relationships that will make them complete. Good story!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Thanks so much for reading, and taking the time to review x
Aww..so sweet, and promising. It's like Hermione's the Mum sending Sevi off on a date with his love, Harry. Yes, I agree every one deserves to be happy. Even Severus. *sigh*More, please.Thank you again for sharing~

Bless you. Thanks so much for being so kind about my story. x
Your characterization... it all feels so very right, years past schooldays, with the space to breathe and be just who they are. Lovely, lovely story... thank you, I needed a smile and warm, fuzzy heart, today.
I've really enjoyed the build-up, and I'm so glad they are getting there - aren't they? Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Thanks. Yes, they're getting there I think.
Bravo on their reunion. The intensity was there. The nevousness was there. The desire was there. And maybe most improtantly, the comfort in each others arms was there. You are supposed to be attempting to sway me to like and believe a Snarry relationship and you are doing an amazing job. Not only is their dynamic great, but you remind me that although I love a good SS/HG romance, I also really enjoy them as close friends. It allows them to share all of the things that make that pairing work, without the angst and drama.Looking forward to seeing what is planned for after dinner ;)
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Thanks so much. I was worried I hadn't quite got the intensity right but maybe I did!
Thank goodness Harry is bold enough to make the first move. It helps that Hermione, who he trusts to know what she is talking about, told him he has reason to. It still took some nerve. Severus would have denied himself forever before approaching Harry, I think.I never expected such a reason for Happy's nickname. That is certainly awkward.Seeing Severus, Harry, and Happy all sharing a normal domestic moment gives me hope for a truly happy ending. All they are missing now is Hermione. I think these four could be very good together.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
I think he would have avoided it forever, you're right.Next chapter is the hard one - I still have to write it, so wish me luck.
Ah, the cooker timer, setting down the glass without looking... It's those small details that make the story so genuine. Rarely do I persist with a Snarry story but this has a compelling honesty. Well done.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Thanks. I like to keep it real. And Severus only has two hands...... now I have a fantasy of him having MORE than two hands. That's a different story. 'How Severus Met Lakshmi' - haha!
WONDERFUL CHAPTER. I LOVE HOW YOU HAVE THE TWO OF THEM MOVING TOGETHER SLOWLY. (TOO BAD THEY COULD NOT BE A TRIO, BUT THIS IS GOOD TOO!) WAITING ANXIOUSLY FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. JIM
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Thanks Jim. the next chapter is the big one I think, tricky to write but I'll try and do my best. Thanks for reading x
*squee!* I can wait wait to discover what they will tell each other. I would love declarations about undying love but it's probably a bit early for that. I'm sure the conception of Harriet will be ver enlightning.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
I can't see Severus declaring his love just yet, but there will be other things between them...
Ahhh and there is the reason behind calling her "Happy" Oh that must have been a fresh hell each time she called herself Harry. The fates are not kind are they? Okay so dinner and conversation. I am braced for it.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Exactly - there was always going to be a good reason for that - now, why would Severus call the baby Harriet?
Hmm, so lovely. Happy is a wonderful bridge. So exciting!Thank you for sharing~

Yes, Happy has been a very useful character! lol... Thanks for reading x
I used this chapter as an opportunity to read the whole story again an it struck me in hindsight how carefully you've dropped subtle hints about the dynamics between the characters. I also like the way you are telling this story through all kind of little things: small gestures, detailed observations. It's subtle and it has a natural flow. I like that. And looking particularly at this chapter I think all ingredients are there to make some proper space for Harry in this family setting. Happy likes him and the feeling is mutual, Severus and Hermione have their own rooms and they are obviously not spending all their leasure time toghether. So I think it would be far more natural for Happy if Harry becomes some sort of part of this family than it would be in a traditional hetero family setting. However, I must admit that just because of the fact this story is flowing so naturally till now that I am a bit apprehensive about the upcoming sex.You see, my personal problem with sex in slash is that the sexual dynamics are in most cases less believable than the relational dynamics. It's IMO too often depicted as a sort of straight sex, only performed by two males...since I very much like the way you have written your characters I just don't want that to happen to them.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
It's a tricky one, the sex thing. I think that male/male sex scenes are better written by gay men, becasue they write through experience. I'm female so write from that perspective, and most of the stuff I write comes from within. in this instance, I've looked outside the box and done a bit of research.... oh yes. see how far I will go for my art?lol.... *eyes wide shut*
Response from orlando switch (Reviewer)
Wow you've done research, that's pretty cool, I appreciate that. I really look forward to see how this works out in your actual writing, cause you are of course right, writing mostly comes from within. As I am looking at the matter from the gay male perspective I've tried to pinpoint what to me is the biggest difference in perspective... and it is that gay sex is about having the same body and therefore the same kind of physical reactions when being aroused. It's about looking for and finding the physical 'sameness' in the other instead of the 'otherness' you'll find in straight sex. I think that's the most essential thing both in the relational and sexual interaction.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
That is very useful to know, so thank you for sharing that with me. I haven't started to write the sex yet so I will definitely keep that in mind.
Response from orlando switch (Reviewer)
You're welcome! I'd like to share one last bit of information with you and then I'll leave it up to you. After all it's your story and I am sure you will do fine with describing the gay sex.Age difference is one of the things in gay relationships one also perceives through the focus of looking for the physical 'sameness' of the other. When Snape and Harry are attracted it's almost inevitable that Snape will also be remembered of his own physics when he had Harry's age and vice versa. - Especially at the ages they have now, since there is a much bigger difference in physics between a twentysomething and a fortysomething than in another 1o years when Harry will be in his mid thirties and Snape will be in his mid fifties. The fact you can see in the other to some extend how you will become / have been physically can be part of the attraction. But sometimes (according to his own self image) the older man can also have mixed feelings about it and tends to feel old because he so clearly sees in the body of his young lover that he himself is not twenty anymore. So it's a good thing wizards live much longer than we because over the years this physical age difference will show less and less.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
I can't thank you enough for sharing this - it's put my mind at rest. I did have an idea where I was going with this part of the story and I think I got it right, so that's positive. I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts after the deed is done!

I don't even LIKE slash. Well done, mate. Well done. Can't wait for the rest.
Author's Response: It seems I'm converting a few people. that's got to be a good thing, I think! Thank you for being so kind about my writing x
Loving this story so far! Can't wait for more!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment, it means a lot :)
Alright, now I desperately want to know how things went wrong between them and how Sev ended up with Herm. And if little Harriet will be ok of course. I wonder about some other things but I fear I will bore you with my incessant unanswerable questions. *wink*
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Nooo, never bored by questions! I just might not answer them, but I don't want to give away too much x
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
That is quite alright, don't worry. I don't really want to kno. Well, not now at least. I want to read about it instead.
The boy-who-just-is makes the first move. Way to go Harry I am impressed!!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Impulsive and opportunistic is the domain of the young I think.
Holy crap you arent going to kill off Happy are you? I am all worried.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
LOL... neelix the Child Killer.I quite like that...
Oh you benevolent author you have given Harry adult height! Wonderbar. I do get sick of reading stunted growth Harry so often. Seems like secrets are dropping like flies this chapter. Yippeee! I'll finally be able to figure out what is going on.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Harry is a man now. He is almost as tall as Severus, but stockier, more muscles... YUM!
Luna/Ron is one of my favorite pairings. I knew of course that Happy would end up at St. Mungo's I just didnt think it would happen so quickly. Might I just say I am glad Happy is a nickname and not her real name? Terrible of me I know.
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
The reason she is called happy will come out later on. Thanks for reviewing x
Well that doesnt clear anything up does it? This is one tangled web of Harry/Severus and Hermione. I wonder who feels worse about the situation? You have me hooked!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
I can't give away the plot in chapter two.. lol... Thanks for reading x
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
cough cough how many chapters are there anyway? Hummmm?
Interesting dynamic with the three of them. I'm curious as to what relationship they had- at first of course we all assumed Severus and Hermione were married in the traditional, monogamous, romantic sense. Now it looks like neither of them are straight, but they got together for the purpose of having a family. I'm a fan of well-constructed stories where Hermione's a happy, successful not-hetero, so if I'm right on this you get big extra points in my book. Not that I'll dislike the story if she does turn out to like men, of course. You've got me thoroughly invested in Happy/s wellbeing, and I really, really don't want her to die... but I really don't know which way this is going to go. Can't wait for the next update!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
You get huge brownie points and a Blue Peter badge - you have this right in many ways but I won't give away too much. Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment x
And I love you from this moment, LOL. Yay for getting some background on things. Of course there are still a lot of unknowns, but we have the foundation at least of how the current situation came to be. I love the idea of the three of them as friends and that they "fit together perfectly as if by accident." I can totally picture Harry and Hermione deep in debate and Severus just sitting back to enjoy the show, knowing it is only a matter of time before he gets sucked into things. I am super excited to see where we go from here!
Response from neelix (Author of Making Happy)
Phew...That chapter what an awkward one to write... how to say something without saying too much! Thanks for the review, chapter 7 is WIP but should be up tomorrow.
