I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.

Wow. Great start. Can't wait to see where you take this Livvy. I'm so excited that you are giving us another story.

*claps hands* Hey, girl! Glad to see you back for another go 'round. I hope you like it.Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Livvy, this is wonderful. You've got another winner with this story. I love that you're using Augusta! What a grand old bird she is. I'm hooked on it all ready!
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Hey, long time, no read! Glad to see your name! I hope I can keep up the pace and everyone will like it. (I know you love the angst :)Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Fantastically handled. I don't think it could have been more realistic.Looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Thank you so much!Livvy
When I got to the end of this chapter (I hadn't been keeping up on my fanfics lately so I had three chapters to read) and saw the admins note, I was completely shocked. I am so sorry to hear of Livvys passing and hope her family are doing well. I will imagine my own happy ending for this story. RIP Livvy.
Thank you, Livvy, for sharing your imagination, story and talent with us.
Fabulous story -- very sad, very dark. I am so sorry for Hermione. I like the fact that you used a character -- Augusta Longbottom, that doesn't often get used in any significant manner. I really hope she will allow Snape to connect with her.
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Thank you. Augusta will be out of the picture for a while, but will return later. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Still not working for me. Chapter 11 phase one, of what? Chapter 12 phase two, of what? I really think there needed to be some set-up of plot prior to 11 & 12. Why has she come to his attention? I don't think the russion bit is enough. Again, sorry. I do like the story. But the plot flow of 11 & 12 has sort of brought down the fourth wall for me.
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Well, the entire time at the Moscow Symposium, he was hearing about her. She was a mystery to everyone there, like she appeared from nowhere. But her physical beauty has intrigued many of the old men of the potions world and SNape heard a lot of talk about how beautiful Hermione was. It doesn't take much for a man like Severus SNape to get intrigued by a witch who has beauty and brains. She is nothing how he remembered and now his imagination is in overdrive. He wants to meet her and see if he can have a chance with her. At first, its all sexual, but after the first meeting 9phase 1), it is becoming more. Phase 2 (getting her to be alone with him) has him hooked. He is done for now. Hermione is no girl he can make cry and sneer at for her desperation for approval. She dishes out the nastiness as well as he does. She can stand up to him. That is a big turn-on for a man like Snape.I hope that straightens out some things. About the Russian witch, it signaled the end of his holding onto Lily. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
I actually found this chapter sort of out of place. All of the sudden, Snape shows up? No prior set-up? Has he been thinking about her? Doesn't work for me in flow. Sorry.
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Sorry. There has been a chapter mix-up. It all should be fixed now. Others were confused too. Thanks for reviewing,Livvy
Response from GryffKat (Reviewer)
Thanks. It is all much better now.
I'm really enjoying the story, but I wonder if I missed something during the closet scene? How'd Katya know he was thinking of another woman? Did he say Hermione's name or did she use legilimency on him?
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Woman's intuition? She also could have used legilimency as well. But I say female intuition. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Gah, what a twist to throw in there! You can tell by Hermione's violently emotional response to Harry's questioning of her personal choices she still hasn't managed to work through her emotions of her rape. She did, however, leave him with some pretty massive clues. Which leaves me with the sinking suspicion that Harry will confront Neville and Luna. He'll end up meeting Alice and figure it out, but instead of acting like an adult he rushes in on Severus before he can process it all.Eagerly looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Yes, how Harry decides to approach the problem will be very important to how the fic develops. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
It seems that Hermione has really grown into a beautiful woman, and even her old best friend couldn’t help noticing how attractive and sexy she has become. The painting of Diana seemed to set his thoughts to the sensual, and then when he saw her walk into the office, all he could think of was “WOW!”
I can understand why Harry would go to see her and want to know how she is doing, but I felt so bad for her when he began grilling her on the specifics of her personal life… like lovers and sex.
When Harry mentioned that “even Snape” had been at Hannah Abbott’s funeral, and that he had apparently been crying, all I could think of was “don’t go there, Harrrryyy.” Then when he told her that he had never believed her story about Greyback and those lost three days, I wanted to punch him! It really took some gall on his part to say such a thing, and I’m surprised that she didn’t treat him to her famous right cross. But of course she wouldn’t. It would only have opened a bigger can of worms.
Oh, boy! I hope Harry doesn’t allow himself to get talked into going to Hogwarts to try to get Neville (or Luna) to talk about Hermione. But then he wouldn’t be Harry, would he?
I don’t think that Neville would allow himself to be manipulated into talking about Hermione, but when Harry sees Alice…? Well, he did notice the “cute dimple on the lower part of her left cheek,” and when Ron and Ginny were telling him to go talk to Neville, all I could think about was Harry seeing Alice and putting two and two together and coming up with a three and a half. And if he puts the traits that she inherited from her father together with her resemblance to Hermione, well, he might arrive at a solid four. Then all hell could break lose. Please let him behave with a modicum of discretion for once in his life… please don’t let his thoughts just pour out of his mouth like they did when he was talking to Hermione about her love life.
Well done, Livvy! I’m on tenterhooks waiting to find out what happens next!

Harry's decision on how to go about gaining info about Alice's parentage will set the course for Snape figuring out Alice is his. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
I missed the last couple of updates but am caught up now. This story tugs at you. You feel for Hermione but also for Severus. I look forward to your next chapter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Thank you! I love it when my writing can get at a reader's emotions so.Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
And now Harry will discover little Miss Longbottom is really little Miss Snape, right? I like the way you're interweaving the characters into this little snare called a story. ^_^
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Thank you! Yes, Harry will play a pivotal role in figuring out this mystery. I'm glad you are enjoying it!Thanks!Livvy
Wow. That was incredible. Will Snape overhear the conversation with Neville?
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
How Harry will go about this visit will be pivotal to how Snape and Hermione come to find out their parentage. I hope you like how I go about it.Thanks!Livvy
Uh oh, poking in others business can lead to more than just information gathering. Pain, and heartbreak are high on the list in this tale. Disruption of home, and a small family as well. I wait with a feeling of foreboding, the unraveling of a few lives.Thank you for sharing~

Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Oh, yes. Harry is going to discover in his search more than he bargained for. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
oh Hermione - what pain you are still in. I wonder if they will get anything out of Neville....
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Yes, Hermione is in a great deal of pain. More will be elaborated on that later. Thanks!Livvy
Wow, Hermione was really harsh with Harry. We the readers know her reasons, but he has no idea. Thank goodness he isn't deterred that easily. It is clear that her friends still care about her, and I hope that at some point, she will be able to talk with them and trust them again. She really could use someone to talk to. Clearly she talks with the Longbottoms, but she needs someone else, a friend with different perspective. Still, if they push her, she isn't going to relent.I really thought there at the end when they were trying to figure Hermione out, and brought up the fact that she spent so much time with Luna and Neville, something would click about Alice Hermione. Maybe it still will. I don't know how Neville will react if put on the spot. I can see Agusta running drills with him for this particular situation :)I find it interesting (and true to life, it seems) that a woman who has no interest in men and sex would make herself look so sexy and alluring. If she wants to keep them at bay, she should go with frumpy. But there is something psychological that happens after a traumatic sexual experience, I think. I suspect also that part of it is that she revels in the fact that she is a woman kicking some ass in an arena where men dominate. She is asserting her dominance and that is not necessarily a bad thing.Still, to be so haunted by it so many years later ... she needs to do something therapeutic (might I suggest confronting the man who caused said damage *hint hint*) I'm not for a minute suggesting that rape in any form is something that you ever entirely get over, but when she speaks of sex and childbirth and having a lover with such such violence, it tells me that she has not worked through this at all. Ten years is a long time to hold that all inside. While Snape will have to accept some responsibility in this situation, I almost want to send him a warning because when this comes to a head, ten years worth of anger, confusion, dispair, disgust etc are going to come flying out of her all aimed at him I suspect. I hope he knows a good shielding charm :)Ok, I'll shut up, but know that I am chomping at the bit to have more.

Harry and Hermione have a very special bond. Enough of one that he can put away her hurtful rebuffs and see her her as she is: a wounded soul. But not knowing why will propel him into finding out. The same old Harry that could never resist a mystery. Thanks!Livvy
Ooohhh, the nosy nellies are on their way!
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Absolutely! Harry will not rest until he figures a few things out. Thanks!Livvy
Poor Hermione. Although she puts on this tough exterior, she is really just crying inside. I wish she would let Harry and Ron in. They were best friends for years and to just be cut off and for 10 years, she needs to talk. I hope she'll be able to eventually.
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Hermione needs a great deal of care and understanding to get her to open up.Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Aren't thay nosy?
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Harry is, but as Hermione's friend, he's trying to figure out why she is so damaged. Intentions are good. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
This chapter needs a warning, please. I like your fic, but this chapter let me very down. In my country a lot of doctors did willingly exactly what Snape is describing: keep the victims alive for some more time so they could "speak". It's a sad reality and I couldn't stop thinking of it. Sorry
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
I had warnings on the warnings section that had: blood, squick, torture, violence, character death... and I think one more. I'm sorry that you weren't aware. It's the system the site uses so authors don;t have to write it over and over again for each chapter. It's automatic when you set it until the author changes the warnings to something else. Yes, Un fortunately many countries use this form of torture. It is a sad and tragic reality. I apologize if it caused you undue stress or trauma. I do not know your story, but I want you to know I care about your feelings. Please look at the top of the warnings section before each chapter. If there is a new word you would like to be place on the list of warnings, contact the admins and they will seriously take your suggestion to heart.Thank you for reviewing,Livvy
I like the inclusion of Jack as a device to show us how Hermione isn't ready for intimacy yet. And also, hopefully, to show that when she is ready, it will have to be the right person. Great chapter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Yes, and a person who will not judge her for her choices too. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Lovely chapter. And such a clever idea to include the dimple as proof of parentage, or non-parentage. We don't know if Severus has a dimple or not as he never smiles. I wonder if Hermione does? Hmmmmm!
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
All will be revealed in increments, but the dimple thing will be explained. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter :)Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Another powerful chapter. Hermione is suffering terribly from the after effects of all that has happened to her. sometimes we need someone strong like Augusta to give us a good slap and stop us from wallowing. There is a lot of emotional turmoil and psychological exploration which you are addressing very well, whilst still keeping it exciting and keeping us in suspense. Good job!
Response from livvy6 (Author of La Chasseresse)
Thank you! It is a near impossible situation for Hermione, so I hope everyone will like how I play it out. Thanks!Livvy
