Lucius Malfoy has finally realized the Dark Lord has been spinning nothing but lies. Unfortunately, it took him losing his family to realize this. Now, he is trying to atone for his sins. Will anyone trust him? Will anyone help him regain his place in society? He has a plan. Set after HBP. Rating is for later chapters. Additionally, there are two chapters that have some torture, but nothing overly graphic. Nominated for Feb 2006 Multifaceted Awards in Best Dramatic and Best Het (Adult) Fics

I picked up the Harry Potter fandom around the time the first movie came out and began writing fanfic early 2005 after discovering the adult online community. I identify most closely with the Slytherins and you will see my taste in writing lends me to writing about Slytherins more often than not. In addition to fanfiction, I also make fanvids on the Harry Potter fandom. I'm a Perfect Imagination acredited beta and am willing to help authors. My main 'ship interests are Snape/OC (never really got into the SS/HG pairing) and LM/any female (with HG as a new favorite). I have dabbled in RL/OC and RL/NT and am okay with those pairings. I generally shy away from slash, just not my thing. For updates on my writing, check out my Live Journal

I love his subtle method of trying to seduce her--very sexy indeed!
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Yup, I just seem him going for the subtle approach, after all, she isn't an idiot and would see rigth through him being obvious. :D

Mmm, Lucius Malfoy is such a sexy beast--I love it/him!*SQUEE*Lucky girl is getting oggled at by a horny Lucius Malfoy--lucky girl! delicious of him to not have his shirt on when Hermione saw him doing laundry--very tastey sight indeed!Brilliant story--I love this pairing--well done!
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Thanks. :D I really do love the aura of power that Lucius has and of course having Jason Isaacs play him on screen doesn't hurt. LOL I had a lot of fun with this one and all the little things to bring them together. The laundry scene was one of my faves. :D

YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!! I read it all and I loved it !! now you just need to finish the glory seris
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Wow!!! How did I miss this review? I can't believe it's been so long since I went through reviews. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm not sure if you've seen the fact that I did finish the Glory series.
arrrrrrrrrruuuugh!! and I thought hermoine was smarter then that! OY ****runs to next chapter**
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
LOL Sorry to do that to you. But you know that Hermione is still young and hormonal. LOL
Oh my. It's shades of grey versus shades of grey at this point. Interesting, ambiguous, and kind of fun. I really hope Lucius isn't just messing with Hermione. Of course he's feeding her lies and telling her what she wants to hear rather than the truth, which does tend to indicate evilness, but right now it's kind of hard to tell. Hmmmm... *thinking face*
Huh. Well, it's lovely, but why the heck can't she bring a nice, properly-trained Auror with her? Is there a Malfoy ward against bodyguards?
Naughty, naughty Lucius! Devious slytherin too... lolGood story, can't wait to read the rest.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Oh, he is a very naughty, devious Slytherin. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. I do know that this chapter has a tendency to elicit reviews. LOL
I am always glad to find good Lucius/Hermione fics. Just spent the better part of two nights reading your story and really enjoyed it. I particularly liked the way the relationship was developing and how you portrayed Lucius.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
I'm touched that you liked it enough to read it straight through. Thank you. I really enjoyed this one and it's probably the story I am most proud of. I have written a few other LM/HG, but I think you found at least one of them. Lucius is so much fun because you can portray him so many different ways, unlike some of the characters we know so well. I think that's why I enjoy using him as a main character.
This is a great story and has given me a new appreciation for Lucius Malfoy. I finished this off with a feeling of satisfaction at the end. I love a happy ending! Gread job! Thanks for sharing this with us all!
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Thanks, Jen. I like a happy ending, too. And after all the misery of the last few chapters, I felt I needed a little ray of hope for the future. I find endings just about the hardest part to write. And I'm glad to have instilled a new appreciation for Lucius.
I really enjoyed this story and was always excited to see a new chapter was up. I'll definitely be looking for your other stories.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Thanks, jessa. It was a fun story for me to write. I'm hoping to have something new up in the near future.
There is only one word suitable for this...PERFECT! LOL
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Thank you very much. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I had to write the ending about 3 times before I was happy with it.
Captivating literature! I have read the whole thing from start to finish and have been in raptures at the intricate web of intrigue and romance! *Yes I know I'm a closet Hermione* I just need the ending and then I can look forward to your next offering! *huge smiles and sends big hugs and chocolate to your muse!*
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Thank you ver ymuch for the wonderful review (and the reminder that I had not yet posted the epilogue, which is up now And the next offering is in the works, too. :) This was a fun story for me to write, and I'm always pleased to hear from people who are/have enjoyed it.
I'm thinking Hermione's reaction is due to all the hormones, but reading this I can't understand why she felt he betrayed her. He's been honest with her, other than about Snape. She was willing to believe that Snape was helping find the Horcruxes and could possibly be on their side, so I'm not sure why she won't allow Lucius an explanation. I"m really surprised at her in this chapter. Hell, Lucius should ride off into the sunset with Remus. He seems to be the only one intelligent enough here to listen to every side and look at things in a logical way.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Poor Hermione is on that emotional roller coaster right now. Hopefully it will end soon for poor Lucius' sake. Of course, the fact he acted guilty when delivering the news probably didn't help his case. At least he does have Remus on his side, which can only help.
Response from ancientgirl (Reviewer)
Yeah, I think had Lucius been more less guilty looking she might have allowed him to explain.I am really glad Remus is on his side. I absolutely adore him as a character in the books. His only mistake was never stopping the rest of the Maurauders from being mean to Severus, but I think he has a good heart and is a calming influence to have around.I'm looking forward to seeing how you pull all of this together in the end. It will be quite interesting. I also hope this means a happy, or at least good ending for Snape too.
The only thing I'm confused about was did they break the curse. I wasn't able to unstand that very well.Sorry, maybe its just too early.Great chapter though. I'm hoping they just took Lucius somewhere else to hide and not back to Azkaban.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
I thought the curse bit was pretty clear. In Ch 12 it's mentioned that Lucius expelled the evil and Molly tells her that it was, though it's understandable you might think she was just comforting Hermione. As for too early, no problems there. I've had problems with that in the past. LOL
I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. As for Lucius, that will be revealed in the enxt chapter. :)
Response from ancientgirl (Reviewer)
Ah okay. I think what confused me was Hermione's inner dialogue and knowing that the Lucius knew it would try to lure her into a false sense of security. Cool beans.I'm looking forward to the next chapter. I've got my boot ready for some Harry and Ron ass kicking though.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Ah, okay. I can see how her inner monologue could be confusing. I meant for the italicized parts to be part memory/part flashback, but I realize now that was used as inner monologue previously. So, your confusion is not your fault. I'll go add a note in at the beginning to make sure other people don't get confused. Again, I know what I meant, so it wasn't confusing to me.
Hey, the cliffhanger doesn't bother me as much as having to restrain myself from jumping into the computer to kick Harry and Ron's ass myself!Gah!
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
LOL I know. Ron and Harry are the ultimate pests. I promise there will be some measure of satisfaction before it's all over. It just might take a while.
A very good chapter. I can't wait to see what happens to Hermione,
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
That was a rather evil place to stop, wasn't it? Okay, this story specializes in evil cliffhangers, so that's an easy statement for me to make. Hermione's fate will slowly unfold. I'll have a new chapter up soon. I'm shooting for every couple of days as I have the story almost complete and truly anticipate 25 chapters. I'm glad you enjoyed it Kira and thanks for reviewing.
Yes, right now, I think Remus is in a position to understand Lucius a bit more than anyone else. Seeing that he's got his own prison of sorts as well.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Yes, Remus has been an outsider for most of his life, so I think he'd have some sympathy. Add to that how he's been written by JKR, a man in search of friendship and acceptance, and I think it's somewhat natural they would bond in this situation.
Congratulations for being nominated. I like that Lucius and Remus talked. Maybe he's got someone else on his side over there at Order headquarters too.I hope he can finally be allowed to help. I think his rescuing Hermione will let them know he's changed.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
I think that Remus is the one person that would be able to relate best to Lucius. I look forward to exploring their friendship....Hopefully the adults will prevail over Harry's emotional side. I should have another chapter ready to go this weekend.
Oh, how romantic. Lucius is going to end up falling in love for real if he's not careful. *lol*
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
I know, the poor man is going to outsmart himself, isn't he? LOL
*lol* What a perfect cover... Ron. Too bad Hermione has better taste than that. Wait a minute. I don't mean 'too bad'... I mean 'Good for her'!
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Hahaha! I'm glad you liked that. I thought it worked out well. The Ron/Hermione pairing was the one that I never understood. That's why I chose to remedy that situation.
Sneaky Severus... Sneaky Lucius... What is the truth? And... why do I have a sneaking suspicion Severus was there the entire time?
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Truth? It's so subjective, isn't it? There are so many things going on that it will be hard to unravel. As for Severus there the whole time...well, that's up to each person to decide.
What the... poor Lucius can't catch a break, can he? *grumble* Glad I waited to read so I can just go on to the next chapter. teehee
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Yeah, poor Lucius having to deal with Ron. Just when he thought he was about score, too. *g* Yup, you at least get to move on to the next chapter right away rather than having to wait.
I do enjoy her inner voice. I'm glad I'm not the only one to have conversations with one's inner voice. Oopsie... pretend I didn't say that. Sorry I didn't rview till now. I read this and must have gotten sidetracked... Am catching up this evening.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
nss, no problem on teh reviewing. I know how easy it is to fall behind. I'm glad you liked the inner voice. I know I have had more than one argument with myself. LOL
Excellent chapter. It feels like we are building up to them getting caught! Can't wait for more.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Hehehe! You'll see what happens next. I'm glad you liked this chapter. I'm looking forward to posting the next one.
Ooh! I can this ending horribly for HG. LM is still a nasty character. Still it's a good read (as all your stories are) and I wait to be convinced.
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
Thanks,
Response from phoenix (Author of Redemption)
. LM is slimy, isn't he? That's what makes him so much fun. Hopefully he will convince you. As for ending horribly, well, time will tell. This is a story that took on a life of its own.
