Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

I was worried for a minute that Severus was going to have to accept the position of headmaster, and then his plans with Hermione would be no more. I should have known that Minerva wouldn't do that to him. I am glad they will be able to spend some time together this summer. I don't know how they are making this long distance relationship work, but I am so glad they are both so committed. I hope time goes fast for them (well except for the next six weeks. That can drag on forever!)

:) I'm glad you worried a minute ... I don;t think at this point Severus would have been detured from his plans to ahve Hermione with him as soon as possible. It's good that he will help only part time and will bet here for Hermione. LOL she didn't even protest about the teaching job. This Hermione seems to be willing to have Severus tell ehr what gona happen ... I'm surprised no one got after me for that so far... I agree we will mostly see the times they are together so there will be goodbyes at the end... occassinally we will have several chapters for each vacation.Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
I'm so happy that Severus will be taking over the Headmaster's duties little by little. Minerva will still teach and stay at Hogwarts, Hermione will be able to finish her Apprenticeship in Potions and teach the lower years, and most of all, she and Severus will be able to be together.Thanks for this very sweet chapter. I'm so glad that all the pieces are beginning to fall in place... but there's still time for angst or trouble to rear its ugly head, isn't there? As long as Severus and Hermione can weather it, I think I can, too.Beth

Thank you, I'm glad he will eventually take over the palce. He will be very good at the job. His stengths and now his ability to love will help him in that position. Angst..I will think on it... really planned this more of a series of trysts with a bit of story thrown in. I will consider more angst but don't hold your breath. this was really planned as a sexy peice of fluff... :)Jeannie

What was Alan thinking? Fortunately, Hermione doesn't need him. And if she had any doubts about how much Severus loves her, I think that him enduring Disneyland for her sake speaks volumes. I am glad she put him out of his misery by going back to her place. I wonder how they will make it another year apart?

I don't know, he wasn't thinking with his brain LOL. Yes, it did. He does love her more than his own life I think. I always believed Severus would fall head over heels with a good woman who showed him love. After all he loved so deeply a woman who ended up turning her back on him and he still went through hell for her. Being loved by Hermione chnages a lot of him. He can be open, he can love and yet he can retain his strength and heaven help the person who would hurt his woman.....off my soap box....LOLThanks so much for your comments. I really enjoyed this chapter... so enjoy what she did to Alan he deserved it lol. The picture is awesome too although I would rather see him with that shirt off.

What a relief that Minerva was willing to support the unlikely couple. I think her approval was very important to both of them. And kudos to Severus for being brave enough to confront Hermione about her visitor rather than turn and run again. There was some serious angst avoided just because he chose not to jump to conclusions. I hope their time apart goes quickly.

Yep I think he's working on it :)I'm working on ch 7 right now. Hope to have 5 up soon.
They're getting married! Yay! I know there will be times when they have to be apart because of Hermione's classwork, but hopefully Severus will be able to manage his disappointment and not be too snarky. Hee hee. That's like hoping that Niagara Falls will flow backward, but I think Hermione can handle him. (Minerva may have to have a heart-to-heart with him once in a while to remind him of his wife's responsibilities.)I loved his proposal to her in the secluded restaurant. He can be romantic! It tickled me to realize that he had been teasing Hermione earlier when he'd told her that rings were "so Muggle." Bless his sneaky heart, he had the engagement ring with him all this time.Thanks for this lovely chapter, Jeannie! I love the story.Beth

Learning that being apart is a part of the wonderful coming togethers they will experience whenever there is time to be together. One year is nearly over and Summer will soon come.Yes, he was teasing ehr and he had planned this proposal before coming. Thank you, Yes, My Severus is romantic, I would hope Severus would learn to be romantic given the chance at a normal life. A Life he can be in love with a real live flesh and blood woman. Yep Severus is one of a kind aren't we all lucky we can borrow and enjoy him.

Wonderful, wonderful update. There will sure be rocks in their path, but as long as they love eachother like they do, they will manage to move the rocks, blast them to pieces or find a way to walk around them. Very well done:-))
