Much to his surprise, Severus has survived the war. Gravely injured and without any desire to recover, he thinks living may just not be worth the trouble. His nurse, an ex-student who wants to become a Mediwitch, will try anything to get him to see that it is.

Reviews for White Satin, Black Silk
I love the last words of Snape in this chapter! It put such a good picture of an irate Minerva in my head.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
LOL, thanks!
Somebody's going to have heart failure when they find Hermione in Snape's hospital bed. If it's Ron, bet his face will turn far redder than his hair.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
I don't know... keep reading!
Sweet Merlin, I LOVE IT!! Cheers to Rosemerta for smoothing the way and hmmm, I wonder who will catch them? More, soon!!!
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you!
LOL. I think they're good for each other.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Me too. <3
Very nice. now just do something about the engagement...
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
I would, but they do what they want, I only tell the story ;) Keep reading, maybe she will change her mind.
Ah, too bad she's engaged to Ron. Severus is right in his musings. Hopefully she'll go back and drag that stubborn git out of bed.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Poor Severus is totally lost without her. He will come to his senses.
It's nice to see a more mature Hermione who won't let Severus' acerbic attitude get to her.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Yes, she's a smart girl, she will find the way to do her job.
LOL, her reaction at the end was funny. I've reacted that way in a few instances myself. It's the "I'll show you" response.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
I bet Severus was fuming. Thanks for reading!
I am really enjoying this. Seeing an email telling me it had updated earlier made me exceptionally happy.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
very good. Oh please write more. Thanks for putting the poem in. How sad. How awful for Oscar Wilde. The poem is perfect for Snape.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Oh, Oscar Wilde. That poem is one of his most beautiful writings. Did you read it? It's about a man condemned for his crimes. "Yet each man kills the thing he loves"... I thought it was the perfect poem for Severus.
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
Definitely perfect for Severus. I read what you posted of the poem is there more than that? I'd love to read it, if so. I just hate that Oscar was imprisoned for what the law called sodomy but which was probably something a lot more positive to the people involved. How can lovemaking be a crime if two people are both happy with it. Sorry, it's just something that I've never understood. Laws about sex between two consenting people just makes no sense to me at all.
Ron? She's engaged to marry Ron? And The Professor is right there in front of her? Nahhhhh... she'll come to her senses.Even though Severus is his usual bristly self, it's clear that he wants better for her than that she relegate her future to becoming whatever Ronald Weasley wants. However, trying to help Severus Snape is rife with its own kinds of troubles. Her attempts to provoke him into trying to help himself were roundly met with derision, but by wordlessly leaving him to stew in his own juices perhaps he will reconsider everything she said... and perhaps she will think on what he said about her decision to marry... Ron.Very nice!Beth
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
It would be such a disgrace for Hermione to marry Ron... but what can I do? I only tell the story... ;) Thank you for your commentary.
As much as I do like the character of Hermione both canon and fanon, there was just the one thing that I could never stand. She is so desperate to fit into the wizarding world she would marry a person so far beneath her intelligence AND courage. Let's hope that your Hermione will come to her senses very soon and drop the rock!!I love your Snape...you make it easy to feel what he is feeling. Can't wait for the next update!!
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you! Yes, I think the same. Harry was in love with Ginny and that way he became part of the Weasley family, everyone expected that Hermione would do the same... but Ron... that's not the guy for her.
what an amazingly facinating story. i guess it's what is called hysterical paralysis. i look forward to how this will develope. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you, and yes, that is. I even made a little research on spinal injuries...
Hummmm. I wonder if Severus realizes that he systematically drove away all of the other potential caregivers until the only one left was Hermione?Perhaps he didn't mean to, but that's what he did! YAY!Beth
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Maybe it was subconsciously... he wanted to be near Hermione.... Naaaah.
Hermione taking care of wounded Snape! It doesn't get any better than this!Thank you for translating.Beth

Mel dixit: My pleasure, really!
Oh excellent! Yes, keep writing. I want to see the next chapter!
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you!
Poor Snape. He's horrified now, but Hermione is a good sort. I expect she'll take good care of him. I love stories in which he survives the war and the good side has won.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Yes, I love them too, I think Severus deserved a chance to be happy.
I loved the premise of the story and your version of Hermione. I can't wait to read more. Bravo for a wonderful start.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you! Mel is working hard to have the new chapters available soon ;)
it would be very logical for her to pursue medicine since she was raised by two dentists. Great start, look forward to more!
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
I had not seen it that way, but you're right. Thank you!
Perhaps they will come to understand each other. If anyone can tame him, it's Hermione. She's smart enough to appreciate his desert-dry sense of humor, and she's self-assured enough to brush off his taunts.I look forward to more.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
I have faith in the Konw-it-all too.
I really like the story, hope you update sooon.
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you, we will!
This is an excellent start. I'm really enjoying Hermione as she is written, and I hope she can hold onto her confidence long enough to do him some good:) Your characters are well-written and I find them quite believable. Keep up the good work:)Brava!Fizzabella
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you, Fizzabella!
Bahahaha, Snape is brilliant, and oh, my, the way he justifies his words to Poppy, I can just imagine it! Love it!
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Thank you! He just can't help it, he's the way he is...
Great first chapter I hope there is more to come.
