Much to his surprise, Severus has survived the war. Gravely injured and without any desire to recover, he thinks living may just not be worth the trouble. His nurse, an ex-student who wants to become a Mediwitch, will try anything to get him to see that it is.

Very good chapter, like the end and now i'm going to read the next chapter :)
LOL my that was fun ,good job
Look forward to him deciding to move and get out of the infirmery. I like Hermione's spunk.
Very nice chapter I love that he's open to letting her work for him, and shes tough enought to take his crap :)
Oh my oh my. I can't dance for hooha, but I wish I could just so I could better imagine the feelings of those two at the ball. The chemistry! And the lack thereof between Hermione and Ron is just depressing... hopefully she won't wait until the day of the wedding (or, egads, the day after) to figure it out.
LOL, such brilliant showing of know-it-all-Hermione!!! *applauds*
Oh no Ive come to the finished chapters. I am very much looking forward to more.

Thank you! I'm so glad you can enjoy this story, really.
I am really enjoying this story, Hermione and Severus are very engaging... and I love your coined Spanish word.
Lovely seeing the two of them together dancing! Will she or won't she go through with it in 2 weeks time?
Whoohoooooo....OMGosh, YES HERMIONE PLEASE WAKE UP!!! I so love this chapter, WOW I'm glad she "felt" something when Severus took her in his arms, and Bless his heart, coming to the dance, Truly showed how very much he cares....I so cannot wait to see what happens next!! WELL DONE! BRILLIANT!
This is such a dear and wonderful chapter. It's filled with hope as well as regret, realization as well as acceptance, and mostly the growing awareness between patient and nurse that they are happiest when they are with each other.
I think it is time for the Professor to kiss his nurse. Some things are worth the risk, and this is one of those times.
I love this story!!!!!

Such a lovely story! I'm really enjoying it and can't wait to read more. Well done!
loved the description of ron and herminoe trying to sleep together. they just don't fit, do they. faboo update. thanks and mucho smoochies
:) It's interestingthat the first person she runs to with the news is Severus. I wish she'd wake up. Him too, for that matter. But I can see the safety in staying with Ron and Severus not wanting to risk his heart again. At least they have stayed close, instead of going the exact opposite and avoiding each other. Congratulations to Hermione on her educational achievement. Iwonder if Ron will realize what it all means to her?

Oh yeah!!!
I wish each of them did not insist on thinking that they should not pursue this magical attraction they have for one another! They are perfect for each other. The story Severus told Hermione about how despicably his mother's parents treated them broke my heart. His description of how his mother died gave me chills. "She guttered and went out, little by little, like a candle, until she finally lost the will to go on . . ." I hope Severus really will take her with him to see the Princes' house. When Hermione ran to his rooms to tell him her NEWTS scores, I was hoping that something special would happen, and it did! Severus really did apply his determination and hard work to improve. I was delighted to see that he can now stand unaided, and perhaps this will lead him to not think of himself as "less-than," no better than a Squib.I was even happy that she didn't make a higher score than he did on her Potions exam. It was perfect that both of them had earned the same grade.I can't wait to see your next update!Beth

Mel dixit: Hermione has an annoying sense of duty. One can only hope she gets over it soon.
Lovely chapter! Only fitting she share the news with him as he's been helping her while she helps him... Can't wait to see what happens next!

Mel dixit: I can promise you you won't be disappointed. Frustrated, maybe, but not disappointed.
Interesting she went straigt to Snape, and not the boys. :)
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Mel dixit: Funny how that works.
And this is the point were Hermione should realize that she would rather be with Severus. Seeing as she runs to him instead of Ron.And if she can't realise that, her scores alone should prove she is meant to be more than just Molly Weasley the Second! It irks me!But I can't wait for more updates!!! SOON!All the best,Elaine

Mel dixit: Yes, she should...but she doesn't.
I'm enjoying this so far. You've done such a good job of keeping them both in character. I wonder how long it will take Hermione to realize that Ron isn't the one for her...
Response from junimel (Author of White Satin, Black Silk)
Mel dixit: Long enough for maximum UST, I would think...
That was wonderful. Now she just has to figure out why she ran to him first.

Mel dixit: You know, for a smart girl, she can be remarkably thick.
Can't wait to see what happens next!

Mel dixit: Working as fast as I can...all I can say is, this story gets better and better.
Oh, wonderful! I mean, evil, what with you giving us a bad case of blue eyes (since we're reading?). Thou giveth the sexual tension, and thou taketh away. Mean! But forgivable, because at the end I could see Hermione just /glowing/ from her test scores. Especially matching Severus- she could never beat him, but under his tutelage she could do just as well. He must be so proud. And standing! Next thing you know he'll be casting spells! *enthuse*

Thank you, Liviconnor!
I'm glad you didn't let them take advantage of the moment where she was sitting on his lap. They needed more time to draw closer, so their wills will crumble from the weight of their undeniable desire and love for each other. So sweet that she found him standing when she came to deliver her good news. And I'm glad she didn't beat his potions score. Only fitting that they end up on equal terms there.I am enjoying this story. Good work.

Mel dixit: Yes, I think that might have been the last straw for Snape's tottering self-esteem.
