Reviews for Deliver Us
With this chapter, you've painted a very realistic and detailed portrait of of Hermione wallowing in a fit of depression, I can just imagine how she feels. Well done, Clairvoyant, and go Team Venus!
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
She deserves to wallow in a little self-pity after spending the better part of her youth helping Harry fight off a megalomaniac. But enough is enough, and Severus appeared at just the right time, to bring her back to reality. Thanks so much for the review and the lovely stars.
Fabulous job, dearie! I'm so proud of the way this fic has blossomed ... well done!Go Team Venus!

! I'm so glad you enjoyed my take on Gluttony.
And most definitely... GO TEAM VENUS!
Of course, I loved this chapter when I first read it and I absolutely love it again here! Well done!Go Team Venus!
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Thanks for the glowing review and the pretty, shiny stars.
i love this chapter just as much as i did the first time i read it, so it stands up well to repeated readings - always a good sign! and - snow monkeys! *snorfles* :D
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Thank you so, so much. There's a new sparkly to grab your attention each time you read this chapter. Snow monkeys this time, but hold onto your moxie, who knows what little tidbit will be the cause of your next snorfle?
i think you did a good job in this chaper of establishing severus's motivation. i liked hermione apologizing, and i especially like the idea that severus learned the importance of forgiveness from his experience with lily. :)
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Hello, thank you so much for the review and the pretty stars. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and the way in which I've portrayed Hermione and Severus. Do please continue to read and review - it does mean a lot.
A much different view of the usually buttoned up Hermione. Glad to see she's like the rest of us, mooning about after a fizzled affair, making pathetic excuses as to why she's watching a sleazy soap, and talking smack with her cat. Love it!
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Loved your review. On the surface, she may appear to have it all, love and fulfilling career; deep down inside, she is like us, a human being with faults and foibles. Perhaps that's why we like her so much. That and she seems to click with the sexy Potions master in so many stories. Thanks for the review.
I've never read Hermione burnt out and as a slob - that's a first for me.Your first paragraph transported my in a library - possibly Snape's one - where she read an old tome; and then your second paragraph snapped me out of that wonderful place rather brutally :-)Good job! I like surprises.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
She's been going non-stop probably since age eleven; it's no wonder she's burned out. But she had to stop and take inventory of her life to realise she's unhappy. As for surprises, Team Venus aims to keep you on your toes. Thanks for the review.
Wow, those first two paragraphs were the perfect setup for this chapter. They were so great, I read them out loud. You've continued your team's tradition of interesting banter.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Thanks for the lovely review. We strive for realistic, snarky banter between those two.
Ooof. That was unusual. Thank heavens there is light at the end of the tunnel or I would have been really depressed. I wonder whether he lived through the same thing and, because of it, is able to act that nonchalant (for Snape! I noticed the biting remarks, but I am sure he could have been much more nasty). Leaves me with a lot of questions. Now I wonder what the next author will do with it. Interesting, interesting.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Hermione was in a tiny pit of despair, unhappy with her career and personal life. She would have eventually pulled herself out, but Severus just lent her a hand with the wakeup call. I wouldn't be surprised if he had suffered from depression, but I doubt he would ever have saught help or counsel from another person. Stay tuned, the next chapter is brewing in the cauldron. Thanks for reviewing.
Hey Clairvoyant! You've done a great job continuing Venus' wonderful story! Just the way you described Hermione's flat made my skin crawl. Ew! I'm so glad Severus showed up to snap her out of it! Much Love ~ Brena
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Hi, Brena. Yeah, Hermione let herself and her flat go rather pear-shaped. Severus couldn't have shown up at a better time. Thanks for the review.
I want that chair! Stories don't usually show Hermione in a state of burn-out or depression, so this is interesting. Your description of her flat really emphasized that she is not herself.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Forget about the extention pocket, there are chairs with coolers in them, but I'm not certain if they are equiped with 'magic fingers'. Poor Hermione. She's really unhappy, but she'll pull out of it. Thanks for the review and the starry stars.
I enjoyed this chapter. It gave a lot of backstory.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Hello and thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and the background to the story. Do please continue to read and review. It means a lot to us all.
I must admit I found the first chapter a bit dense and hard to get in. But the second one and now this, it's absolutely wonderful. Congrat for the good job.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
So glad you are liking our story. And the plot will thicken... Thanks for the review and lovely stars.
That was fun.

Really glad you liked it. Thanks for the stars,

Something in Sloppy Hermione reaches out to me. I don't think she is Out of Character at all. Surely anyone who's been through a war is entitled to some depressive behaviour. I liked Snape's witty repartee, Snark-with-a-Heart.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Exactly. When has she ever had the time to sit down and examine her life? Who wouldn't be depressed after spending half your life as prey for a megalomaniac? She just has to find her joy, and Snape provided her the kick in the arse she needed. Thanks for reviewing.
I can see where Hermione is coming from. *looks around the room guiltily and kicks an empty beer can under the bed*Now that Severus has shown up in all his sneering glory, I'm sure he will manage to kick-start her right and proper. Awaiting future chapters with keen interest!
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Severus was the snarky wakeup call she needed to move on with her life. Thanks for your review and the shiny stars.
“I trust you can work some magic on that rat's nest you call hair. It would repel Snow Monkeys, and you know how indiscriminate they are, eating the bugs they pick from each other's fur.” ^ ROFL I think that's the best insult to Hermione's hair that I have ever read. :DIn general, I have trouble seeing Hermione as a slob--even possibly temporarily depression-induced--but you've done a very evocative job of recreating the horrors of her flat.Severus's "You are the second person in a decade to render me speechless. The first was the Dark Lord—indirectly through Nagini, of course” was also inspired, lol. Totally mortifying indeed, but it was fun to read. :DRather tickled that Severus came after her after all that running away previously, and looking forward to seeing where the two of them end up next.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
So sorry this chapter failed to meet your expectations.NO! Thanks for your kind words, pw, and so glad you enjoyed it. The sloth was so uncharacteristically Hermione, but it served as the physical manifestation of her depression. And Severus does have a heart, searching for her when she failed their appointment. Hmm, where's that going? Thanks again for reviewing.
I can hardly believe that Hermine let her self and the flat go so. I mean, 'ample bottom' and a flat that the show "How Clean I Your Home" should give a visit to just seems like she's fallen into such a dispair. I'd hate to think of the state of Crooks' litter box!
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Hi, bea! Hermione was so unhappy with her career and her personal life, and it reflected in the state of her flat and herself. Severus gave her the wakeup call she so desperately needed. I like to think that Crookshanks has a Litter-Maid box that automatically cleans itself with minimal owner intervention. Thanks for the review.
A brilliant chapter. I love their interaction and the tension that you've built.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
So pleased you liked it. Hermione can dish out snark just as easily as Severus. Hopefully the UST is peeking through the plot just a bit. Thanks for the pretty stars.
Nice job, Clairvoyant. Sorry Hermione has fallen into such a funk that she's let herself and her surroundings go. *Glances around house and vows to clean... now.* Good thing Severus came along.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
Thanks,

. Severus provided the desperately needed kick-in-the-pants. Maybe he can provide her with a little something something if she's lucky. Thanks for the review. Team Venus loves you.

Well done.
Author's Response: Hello and thank you so much for the review and the lovely stars. It means a lot to us all :)
Only Severus Snape can make a biting remark feel like a flirty, friendly nip. *leaves laundry on the floor and dishes in the sink hoping that he might come offer some foolish wand waving my way* Really liked this chapter! Can't wait for more.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
So glad you liked this chapter and thanks for the lovely stars. I'll see if I can arrange a visit from domestic!Severus for all your household needs. *wink*
I know exactly how Hermione feels.
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
The last thing one should worry about is housekeeping when one feels despair and seeks comfort. At least Severus was nice enough to help her with that. Thanks for reviewing.
A good chapter. And what? LOL I've totally been in Hermione's place before. It's so easy to just get fed up and depressed. Snape to the rescue! Where's my Snape???
Response from Venus (Author of Deliver Us)
So pleased you liked the chapter. If Severus never bothered to improve manky, wonky Spinners End with magic, then things at Hermione's place must have been incredibly dreadful to make him spring into action like that. Team Venus thanks you for reviewing.
